- This 1996 interview with Frank Sinatra Jr. is our first of two TV interviews with him. He had just released his critically acclaimed CD "As I Remember It" and a decade long run of conducting his father's band. Frank Jr. had a unique personality and was always a fascinating interview. His love and knowledge of music, history and technology was as rich and deep as any professor but you can always see him struggling with his lack of ability to be as charismatic as his father (something he admitted to us in a later radio interview). However what is undeniable was his love and dedication to his father and his music.

I had the good fortune of meeting Frank Jr. and he was a wonderful, kind and intelligent gentleman.
I’ve always liked Frank Jr. He was a regular guy and there was no bull shit about him. He was so honest and really missed his dad when he past. I never had the opportunity to see Frank Jr. perform. I’ve seen his father many times and the last time I saw his father, Frank Jr. was conducting the orchestra. It’s a shame this kind of music isn’t played at all. It’s far superior than what passes for music today.
Had I known how great a show Frank Jr put on I would have seen him more. The show I witnessed was one of the greatest ever.Thank God Sid Marks Sunday With Sinatra plays him every week.I miss him very much.
Frank Jr never got a fair break . He was very good , very talented ! RIP Frank Jr.
Never seen this poor kid smile
Sinatra never did officially announce a retirement in the 1990's. In January of 97 is when he had his first heart attack, and I think from that point, his health just declined. It's a little sad when Jr. says he could get that call, and then you remember the interview was 96, and Sinatra never went back on stage. His last performance was February 25, 1995. I could sit and listen to Jr speak for hours, not only about Sinatra, but history, and music.
Rest in Peace, Junior.

Frank Jr was his own man. He knew who he was, and didn't try to copy his dad, but he could.
@@bluzzedude2677 Hardly. Jr. Was not "nothing" as you say. He was a great musician and vocalist in his own right. And a very smart man and a walking music encyclopedia. Kinda shitty of you to say he was nothing. Look on UA-cam and on the internet and see how much you come up with when you type his name and then type your own name and see what you come up with and then see who the real nobody is that is "nothing." 😉😁
@@bluzzedude2677 I think his Father would disagree with you. They were very close & his Father was very proud of his musicianship. Jr was an accomplished pianist and had the same musical work ethic as his Father.
I would rather hear Senior sing, but also rather hear Junior speak. They are both the greatest of all in these respects.
God bless Frank junior 🙏 & all serious singers 😊
A gentleman.
Frank Junior was very talented but having to live upto his father is a hard act to follow.R.I.P.
Is "As I Remember It" still in circulation?
Frank Sinatra was a womanizer. But, he must have been a good father?!! His kids always speak so good of him!
It was not easy for Junior. His father was truly a transformative, larger than life figure.
He was such a pompous, humorless fellow.
If he smiled, even once, I never saw it.
Nice toupee on frank jr
