Only two ppl are known to be able to draw a 200lb Warbow. Joe Gibbs and Mark Stretton. 200lbs is obviously a monster bow but to open heavy bows you have to use a different technique that makes it easier to draw heavy. I am 45, 5”8 and 155lb (70kg) and draw a 113@28” bow on my channel. (You can check in case you think I am talking crap) Yes, it takes strength but the correct technique helps a lot for heavy bows.
Stretton has not been able to pull bows past 150lb in over 15 years. He only pulled 200lb for the 2004 Quinnes record once and that basically broke him. There are 3 other guys training with 180-195lb bows in UK nut to Joe is currently the only man with proof.
There is a reason Men in the 14-1600's had one arm almost double the size of the other one. The Archers who could draw a 200 Lb. bow were very rare. And... The longest ever flight by longbow was not done with a 200lb... They tried but could not grow an Archer from the 1400's with the DNA supplied. Longbow Archers did not all shoot 160-180 lb draws, many fileded 120- 140 lb and could effectively shoot 4 - 1 ratios against the heavier draw weights.
There is a reason an English Longbow men started training when they were young and for a minimum of 10 years typically, I mean the training changed the bones made them more dense, made one arm shorter than the other and of course huge muscles and strong joints, imagine having to do this for 30 mins straight in Battle for your life and friends and country, Battle of Crecy made Longbows legendary
They had no choice, the British Crown passed a law that all British yomen between certain ages were required to spend a certain amount of hours at the public target butts practicing with the longbow. The Japenese longbow had a considerably lighter draw weight yet cast a longer and heavier arrow and the below center Grip and parabolic bends in the limbs allowed used by mounted warriors. The laminate construction of the limbs allowed superior performance and speed
Im sure 4 time World Champ Brian Shaw, would prefer it to be fraised "Brian Shaw or Eddie Hall" given Eddie Hall is what only won it once? "Thor" im sure would also give to differ on that one!
Eddie deadlift over 1000 lbs so I think he would be a good candidate to attempt the bow. It's one of those awkward things where a strong man might struggle where a much smaller guy that's used to pulling on a bow day in and day out will do much better. @@paddlepopinator4949
"yeah I'm probably not the only one that wishes your dad was, so..." might me the most elite thing I've ever heard lolololol. Truck is actually sick though for real
The hunting videos are good but the 200 lb bow videos are hilarious. Of seen 2 guys draw 200, Joe Gibbs being one. I forgot the name of the other but he was English also.
i was already surprised you were able to string it indeed, btw check Joe Gibbs channel he is able to draw over 200lb bows but his form is not what you use to see in everydays archers so perhaps the secret is in a different pulling technic
10:16 also with bows that heavy you have to use a different leg position and use your back to essentially lat-pull it into position. It’s a technique issue, I’ve seen smaller guys draw this
I thought I was the only person to notice! 😂 I even went back and re-watched his attempt. Overhead (Kyudo) draw would have helped him a bit too i think. 👍
It must be that time of the month huh girlie man? 😂 kidding haha! I thought my 80lb bow was wild. You could used that as a Leafspring on you widdle waptor lmao!
Great video. War Bow is a beast. The draw technique is not the standard rotational or linear draw. Look for videos. It involves the legs and back. look forward to seeing the next installment
Yo i dont know how i came across this video nor do i think i care much for this kind of content (no offence just not my jam) but iam sure as hell liking and subbing for the editing! Great vid, you made someone like me enjoy it and want to watch more of your stuff
@@wynanddebeer6829 who knows, he might be able to. But its very special set of muscles you need to have trained + technique and bjornsson might be lacking both or atleast one of both.
If you push with the left arm while pulling the string with the right, you’ll be using 2 sources of energy, rather than just trying to pull back 200lb with 1 arm. It’s more like 100lb pushing and 100lb pulling. I’m not expert btw, just my thoughts.
Everyone makes fun of Hawkeye. Hawkeye's bow strength in the comics is 250lbs. When Hawkeye punches Vision in the face, those punches would have killed anyone else.
Josh-Too Funny asking another guy ....Is It In ??? Then getting the worst case of Hemroids trying to pull a 200lb Bow , Keep trying my friend like learning to ride a bike you will get it Eventually !!!
I hate to say it but you are using the totally incorrect for to try and pull the bow. It should be held way above the shoulders and drawn down using the larger back muscles. Look it up in old historic texts or even on UA-cam. There is a smaller Asian guy that's shoots old school 160-180 war bows. It's all form at this poundage
I haven’t seen the video yet but I’m gonna guess that you struggle with it just a bit. I’m glad that you got one- after the video showing that one I figured you would have one soon.
It’s not a compound. Draw in a circular motion. Start up high and bring the bow closer to you. Use both arms to pull it back and your back. Use leather finger tabs
Bring in Eddie hall world’s strongest man!!!
Hey Josh get Joe Gibbs he can pull 210 pounds
He would come do it, too! He drove a tank over someone's car, lol he would gladly try to pull it back!
It’s interesting how different the strength needed to pull a heavy weight bow differs from gym strength
Eddie couldn't pull it either!. I know he's strong as hell! But he wouldn't. After some training yes
And Brain Shaw
Hi Josh, good effort!!. 👍 I can always help you with technique! If you like?. 😊
His form was a little rough 😂
This comment deserves more attention.

I'm betting brain Shaw might pull it off pun intended or Shaq even but sounds like something Brian would try he should come on the show
@MReiska so he still did it. 😂 what a absolute weasel trying to diminish another man's accomplishment.
Joe Gibbs, Gibbs Archery on UA-cam. Holds the world record for English Warbow draw.
Coach Joe Gibbs is way to old to pull that bow back 😆
@@matevans2122 You realize he still actively shoots a 210, and I think even a 240, right?
@@Glorfindel_117 there's an old american football coach named joe gibbs, which was the joke/confusion.
Incorrect. @@Glorfindel_117
Joe Gibbs is a beast...
I fucking love the fact that he is leaning into the fact of not being able to pull it back, makes such fun content
The Arnold clips saying you’re a girly man 😂💀
😂
Joe Gibbs is the only human who can do it
Lmao the editing in these vids are right on 😂🔥
can't wait to see the giant whitetails this upcoming season
The scene of a wire going through everyone's torso on the ship is from a movie called Ghost Ship! Enjoy!

If Fred Bear was still alive, he could do it. Seriously, what would you even use a bow like that for? Whaling has pretty much been outlawed.
they used to use them for shooting armoured humans to death in battle lol

Bro don't feel bad. English longbowmen practiced with bows so frequently from such an early age that they literally had different skeletons.

THE MOMENT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR MEN 🙏🏾💙
Buy a bunch of bows starting at like 125lbs up to 180+ and build up to it. You know, like weight training.
*Bowmar Bowhunting* Big fun fellas, thanks for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.

This is hilarious!
😂😂😂
Ok, now to answer your question, there is British dude whose name is Joe Gibbs. I think he can pull it.
You better go do lift run shoot with Cam and bring it along with ya😂
hahah this editing is too much!😂😂😂😂
I love this stuff, you josh, all of you guys!👌🏻
I honestly had full faith you were going to be able too! I was pretty surprised! Hopefully one day💪
First time at the channel. That was hilarious. I was waiting for a "you know, I should probably be wearing sleeves for this" 😂😂
This was such a good video. WELL edited. Had a good laugh with all the short clips.

Bowman is going down as the greatest ever
A Collaboration with Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw, and Robert Oberst would make an awesome video
loosens draw string. no longer 200lb bow
Now you know you've been warming up all morning previous to this video hahahahahaha 😂😉
Finally ive been waiting
Playing good lookin while he’s spinning is crazy
Joe Gibbs, Mark Stretton both drew 200+ Pounds at some point.
I don’t know how you do it all of your videos are fantastic!
The editor had to much fun with this one😂
Gibbs archery or historical weapons
Lol comical 😂, u should put a scale on it !! It might be more than 200lbs 😮
Suddenly Joe Gibbs weird looking draw makes total sense.
The meme edits are killers 😂
Joe Gibbs and Jack from Historical Weapons both have a good chance
I never expected this to be the reason josh ended up taking gear
Why does the camera man sound like homelander 😭
Props for getting the bow and giving it the gusto. Big bows like this are crazy!
Good job! Now you have to string and unstring it every time 😂 good call on tabs and warmup wrist brace hehe
Pulling a 200 pound bow is crazy but even crazier is the guy who built it secretly building it to a much higher draw weight
Lol ol pretty mussels lmao ha ha ha loved it 😄 😂😂😂😂

so is this a modern thing or were there warbows back in the olden days that were that heavy ?
Joe pulled that bow - but then he shat himself and severed multiple nerve endings in his brain

Eddie hall, Brian Shaw, and Robert oberst. First ones that come to mind
UA-camr Historical Weapons can probably pull it back.
