The Toyota part number for the hood struts is: Hood strut left: 53450-69145 Hood strut right: 53440-69145 Or if you want to order the set on Amazon that I am using, here is the one I purchased: amzn.to/3sNh3Ki
I need to do this asap on mine too lol. I’ve had my head whacked by the hood of my Acura MDX and it was no fun 😅. (This is why mechanics keep a binder paper clip in their pocket to prevent loose struts from decapitating them lol)
I had one incident a few years ago with our old 2015 7series. Hood fell on my hand while I was just cleaning the engine bay area. After that happened I proactively replace hood struts on all our vehicles bit hurt pretty bad for a couple weeks, luckily didn't break any bones.
@@NKPGarage 🤕 Ouch, I feel your pain. This is why I kind of prefer the old school hood rods instead. They’re a bit more cumbersome but they won’t try and kill you when you’re under the hood.
The ones I purchased a while back for the trunk rear hatch are these, but they seem to be out of stock: amzn.to/3MFO8zU I see that there's another listing for them as well, but I haven't tried this one personally: amzn.to/3CtVvpq
@@kwelhand Absolutely! Always happy to help out! I'm curious, is your power trunk opening slowly? Or just has tired old struts? I ask because I replaced my trunk hatch struts, but my power trunk is still painfully slow to open. One of my projects on the list for the next few weeks is to remove and refurbish the power trunk hatch motor assembly.
@@kwelhand Mine is like that too. When I replaced the rear hatch struts the open function was slightly improved, but still not like new. Next I am going to disassemble the power ram assembly to see what fails on these and how to fix it. I think I have a couple of ideas of what the problem might be. And it seems to happen to ALL of them.

@@MrLazlness good point. I wonder if there is a hood prop conversion kit for the 200 series.
Awesome video as usual... any parts# or link to the rear hatch struts from Amazon?

@@NKPGarage My hatch door closing very slowly... I thought I didn't have enough energy to make it open or close quicker.
