Land Cruiser LX570 Larger tires RUBBING after Wheel Spacer Install - Here is an EASY 10 Minute FIX

- This video walks through the step by step process of how to add additional clearance in the front wheel wells to clear larger tires and wider wheels on the 200 series Land Cruiser and LX570. This same process may work on just about any modern truck or SUV out there that has plastic or composite wheel well liners in the front.
With this process you can usually add around 1/2 inch to 1 inch of additional space, but if you need more than that it may require more creative methods.

Here is the Wagner Furno 500 Heat Gun that I am using. It's very affordable, powerful, and has been very reliable for me: amzn.to/3h53wag

Probably the best channel on UA-cam regarding LX570!
Keep up the great works!!
Thanks @MP5!
i put on 285/75/17s and decided to remove the mud flaps and speed flaps, put the bolts in place and its good for me👍🏼
That's a great idea too. The speed flaps don't really do enough for me to keep them. Maybe I'll try removing them like you did.
Have you had issues with your NAV and DVD monitor screen? My unit appears to be like burned in? Any forums on this? Thanks and keep the videos coming.
When I still had the factory setup I didn't have any problems with the screen or the images. If that's happening to yours, you probably need a new screen. I see them for sale every now and then on eBay and on the IH8mud forum
Hey I was trying to figure out what tire size you are running there, are you able to post that?
Absolutely! I'm running Michelin Defender LTX 275/60r20 tires. If you watch the Wheel Spacer video it goes into more detail on the tires too. ua-cam.com/video/SY4beG72sgc/v-deo.html
Where did u buy the spacer please
Check out my other video here for the spacers.

The wheel spacers I used were the Motorsport-Tech BORA spacers. I ordered them in 1.25" or 31.75mm.
You can order yours directly on their website here: www.motorsport-tech.com/
Or if you're looking for cheaper ones you can get quickly there is a good set on Amazon. I have not personally used this set, but I know of some others that have had good results: amzn.to/3AHxgDc
Hey just wondering which spacer you’re currently running. Previous video was 1.25 but in this video you stated 1 and a half. Just wanted to confirm before I purchase the spacers. Thank you in advance!
Good question. I just looked up my order specs and it was indeed 1.25”
@@NKPGarage Thank you! One of the best LX570 videos in UA-cam! I’m so glad I came across you channel.
@@markvaldez3388 thank you! I sold this one a few months back. Currently looking for another LX570 to get again. By far my favorite SUV I’ve owned ever.
Hello. I have the same vehicle (2009 )with high mileage 175 plus miles with an excellent history. I have noticed the wood trim coming loose on the interior since parking outdoors on the driveway. I have another question regarding transmission oil change? Should it be done or not with such high miles. Also have you upgraded the lights?
I haven't seen my wood trim coming loose yet, but I know it does sometimes with high heat or extended sun exposure. For the transmission you want to do a "drain and fill". Do not do a transmission "flush". I am still on the factory headlights. They seem to be fine for my use.
@@NKPGarage Thanks.
@@anthonygrant5305 Of course! Good luck on yours! Let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the walkthrough for those of us ansy about tweaking plastic with the heat gun! Did the passenger side front hit the speed flap when in AHC high? (it seemed like the extreme point of the tire was above in AHC normal) Or articulation?
You got it. Glad you found it helpful. Nope, no contact with the speed flaps. Close, but no contact.
What size tires did you add?
I went with Michelin Defender LTX M/S in 275/60r20
I would just stick with the 285-50-20 they seam to work well. But it’s good you figured if you wanted to go a little larger on the tires.
When I switched over to the taller tires I was really looking for something that would have better driving manners when towing. And they definitely did help with the tires I went with. If I was not towing at all I would have just stuck with the factory size for sure
Appreciate the video. Cheers!
Glad it was helpful! Cheers buddy!
Amazing to me that there aren't after-market opotions for the mud flaps that are designed to accomodate larger tires.
Most people either remove them or cut them. I opted to just modify them with heat.
@@NKPGarage there might be a concern with flying gravel damage on your ahc hardware behind the mud flap if they are removed?
I guess that might be true. Then cutting them to trim the extra might be the better way to go
1.5 or 1.25? Ur prior vid said 1.25. 🙏
Ah. Good catch. They were 1.25
@@NKPGarage Thanks. Going to pick some up based on ur vid. Aside from some trimming, anything else to know?
@citizenpark2782 nope. It was pretty straight forward. Here’s my video of the initial installation. ua-cam.com/video/SY4beG72sgc/v-deo.htmlsi=e-93HiKkgvXSgXVO
