@Blind Brazilian Tex Atlantis It was a joke, silly. I was "riffing" on the fairly recent phenomenon of people dropping the word(s), "away" and/or "on" from the formerly less common euphemism employed to express the idea or concept of death. "Passed" , minus the "away" or "on" portion of the expression has for as long as I can remember been the popular alternative to the use of the more dreadfully direct, "died" , within the African-American community. However, "passed" has gained considerable currency in recent times among those outside this cultural divide. In other words, it is very common now to hear people when they choose to avoid the word , "dead" , they will say he or she, so and so "passed" whereas in the not so distant past that particular expression was primarily reserved for blacks. "Passed AWAY" or "Passed ON" was the way to go, so-to-speak ;- ) With regard to Gilda Radner I was likley aware of her existence before Gene Wilder ever came to know her on a far more intimate level; I having watched the debut episode of "Saturday Night" on NBC T.V. November 1975
It's the parasocial relationship that's always existed between the audience and celebrities, we want to believe they're exactly like they act on screen.
True about work and colleagues going their separate ways after clocking out. My guess is that folks truly want people ( Black and White ) to get along and respect each other as Pryor and Wilder did in their craft. It's therapeutic to watch them get along and admire each other like this. Doesn't always mean everyone hangs out together, though. Maybe they do, maybe not.
Probably one of the most best interviews I've watched, so naturally done and no one is making a dick of themselves their just both being who they are, as well as the interviewer 😉😉 Very well done.
I found this difficult to watch. Richard Pryor, who was such a razor sharp and intelligent human, struggling to keep up with the conversation. And Gene is so considerate, coaxing him and prompting him. Two great men.
Unfortunately this moment seems like the otherwise normal and honest interview resorted to BS. It seems to me Wilder realized them just not being friends at all isn't coming off good, so he put a romantic spin on it.
They're both so soft spoken. This kind of softness is like a breath of fresh air.

@@I-AM-BELIEVER Then do something about it. Read a book, educate yourself, find a career and be an actual father to your offspring. That way you can stop whining about inequality and the whoa is me mentality and be productive. Also, stop liking your own comments, it's just tacky.
@@cubswin6779 I pray you get the much needed counseling you need. You’re projecting so many of your inadequacies onto me. Are you okay. Maybe you should get out of the house today. I’ve been gainfully employed with the same company for over 7 years. I’m 29, college graduate and working on buying a home this year. Continue with your fallacies and projections.
My education in African American studies as well as American history told me all I needed to know.
The world has yet to come across such a heart-touching duo. I can never explain it but watching them together in movies is truly magical ! Their personalities perfectly compliment each other. I cannot say enough praise about these two comedic geniuses!!
Watching them in this setting is so different from how we see them on the big screen! Just reinforces how amazing their chemistry was together! The world is a far less funnier place without these 2 comedy icons!
What is lovely to me s that they both seem so sincere and kind. There is no sarcasm or annoyance or rudeness like in so many modern interviews.

R.I.P. Richard and Gene
God Bless
Thank You 😊
I love the lengths they went to get into character and to not offend who they were portraying.
Rest in peace brothers! Love you both. Made me laugh so much. God bless you!
As a 90's kid...things like this just remind me how lonely and lost my generation feels born of a century out the door...
**Thank you for uploading**
Two of the All-Time Greats together in conversation, over 30 years ago, and we can still feel their love.
Two of the greatest to ever do it I’m a fan for life
These are two of the greats. I love the authenticity of this interview. Thank you.
Gene always had that youthful energy about him. Such a pleasure to watch these two. It's characters like these who give us hope.
So true. He had a youthful soul.
I’m not much into comedies but I loved the movies they did together
Poor Gilda passed that year
"passed" where?
Self-deprecating humour/not taking yourself so seriously on stage' is why i loved these dudes.
Why was it expected that these two should have socialised after work? when most of us don't with our own work colleagues.
Indeed!I get along with my co workers I do my job with all my sweat ,heart and my ability but I choose not to be friends with them outside work!
@@wmascolin Right, I kept waiting for jokes during the interview. This is the first time I've ever seen Richard completely serious.
I absolutely love this interview two of my favorite actors of all time and kudos to the interviewer who did a great job.
Hollywood isn’t the same as it used to be. I have a lot of respect for these guys.
Love, respect, admire and miss these two geniuses 💜💔✌️🙏🌴
I love these guys , the best duo ever !!!!
God - I LOVE this interview.
God Bless Richard Pryor & Gene Wilder. 👍👍
I am weeping with nostalgia. These two were aware and thoughtful and intense and were so freaking funny.
Thank you for the memories, gentlemen!!
LEGENDS NEVER DIE
They have left a great body of work for everyone to enjoy ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pryor to this, I thought Richard was Wilder. I guess it had to do with his Genes.

"That's FrankenGene"
Thank you both.
What a wonderful interview. Absolutely hilarious and underrated film too IMO.
Yawn
Brian Linehan was the very best at interviewing actors, he really was. His preparation for each interview was remarkable. Respect.
4:30 Gene was a very smart man. You said this so well and nailed it while making it sound so beautiful all at the same time.
Unfortunately this moment seems like the otherwise normal and honest interview resorted to BS. It seems to me Wilder realized them just not being friends at all isn't coming off good, so he put a romantic spin on it.
