Also for hardcore sims, you just plug and go. Unless you are looking for really specific settings, you set up your wheel in your software which is generally universal for ALL games then you plug it in and race. Very few if any settings need to be messed with or adjusted from there other than FFB which I prefer to be very low.
glad someone brought this up. i was considering getting this game eventually but considering how many core features are broken in its current state, its not worth it the game isnt just wrong, it’s fundamentally wrong and that will take a very long time to fix
I'm loving it on gamepass but I couldn't recommend someone pay 70 bucks for it unless you really love racing games for the driving. The physics and driving are really good, the core gameplay is there, the game just needs more polish.
Good that mention about the steering wheel mode , I spent hours upon hours upon hours watching videos and tweaking ,but just when I thought I found the best settings I could apply , I jump into another car and I am and dam square one again same issues , when going full speed on a straights car wobbles I start to slow down car becomes even more unstable swerves to the right or left then spins out , AC RaceRoom and Grid the wheel works prefectly fine
** ABOUT THE CAR CHEESE ** You can leave it running all day/night without needing to do anything. - If on Xbox make sure your Xbox Settings for going Idle are switched off. - Then set your car going around whatever track > bring up the telemetry and set it to FRICTION. - Simple as that. The game will now just run its course. Trust me, been doing this for the last week or so getting my cars upgraded whilst I'm working.
As a console player playing mostly spec events I really enjoy the online races. Noticed that some of the so called poorer performancing vehicles are winning races in the right hands.
The penalty system needs a lot of work. I have been punted wide at the last corner, quite deliberately, and the person who did that goes away scot free. I can be going sideways, flipping side over side off the track, and be given a "track limits violation" of 5 seconds. Being penalised for having a crash seems... A little unfair. The track limits are the most annoying for how inconsistent the amount is. I've had .6 second penalties for entering the pit lane. I've had no penalty for messing up eau rouge/radillion, then given two seconds for going very slightly off on a fast corner to avoid having a crash with another car. For track limits, the checks should be did you A) Gain a position or B) gain more than X amount of time (a second?) over your current fastest time for that section, if so, penalty. If not, warning, more than five warnings for the same section gives you a two second penalty, to stop people cheesing it.
The penalties are the worst part of online. I’m currently stuck in B class for the safety rating, and no matter what I do, I can never have a clean race and level up because I constantly keep getting rammed into by idiots who don’t understand how penalties work and I get punished for their incompetence.
I call cap, I bounce from a to s and am not close to the best driver. But I do drive safely and cost myself time avoiding contact and not over braking or parking on the aoex asking to get rear ended
Ive been doing some testing. Need someone to verify. I noticed at the start of a race going into turn 1. Someone can just plow into you full speed which results in you going off track and a collision. Usually adding 2-4sec penalty. While the rammer gets no penalty. I decided to test this out myself by becoming the rammer and sure enough a the start of every race on different tracks i would full send my car into someone and they would get penalty time but i wouldn’t. I also noticed you can spin people out and not get penalty. But only at the start of the race or before turn 2. Can you guys verify this is the case?
You could and probably are right about some of what you say. However, "grip" is something that is always dynamic. And what sets the best drivers above others is their attention and ability to instantly adapt to whatever the road throws at them. That is what makes it real. Just memorizing your grip levels at every corner and getting into a rhythm that never changes isn't real. Or at least shouldn't, because that kind of racing is boring. P.S. I swear my car is slowing itself down, not revving as high as it should when going down the straight especially on the last lap. Like the engine is running out of gas, but it still has plenty? It really feels artificially induced!
They should 100% remove the Unlocking progression on the car upgrade paths. They should also boost car points gained so you can build your car as YOU want not how THEY want. Then there would be a point to the hopeless system. Also, I tried getting into the S class event and holy smokes will it take time to build a competitive car for those open class races, you cant build whatever and expect it to be good, you have to build and test cars. But its gonna take forever to do so. Even longer than it ever has taken before.
You can't even afk car levels in rivals or free play now. Regardless of whether you have the telemetry screen on or not, you will still get the "are you still playing" message.
Very true on everything especially the penalties and car sounds while some car sounds aren't bad/realistic to their real life counterparts some cars aren't realistic to their real life counterparts which is very weird and as for the penalties thing I've experienced them in the career mode countless times from it being my fault no penalty not my fault penalty some cutting corners penalty other cutting corners no penalty and etc and vice-versa which again is weird why is the game is the way it is for just why?
Progression system to stimulate more driving? i got in to S class, learned i have to "unlock" and level up before even have a chance to compete.. So skip that, i will never will enter any of that again... I am not gonna waste my time.. In the past it was fun to buy a car, upgrade and tune it and give it a go, and maybe it was enjoyable to race more with it... Now, why bother? Why waste so many hours just to try?
