Damn this is the perfect sound for this car man. Not too loud and not one of those shotgun sounds that make u look like a complete prick while driving. Im getting an m4 in about 2months and am gonna look into this
After listening to them back to back, the last setup sounds so much more sonorous at higher revs and its got that audio symmetry. Damn, it sounds great. Nothing left to complain about this car now.
Regardless of what others think I think the f80 sounds good still has the bm rasp and with the way it drives compared to the nicer sounding boring Audi I’d take the m car all day
Sounds good that miltek system I’ve heard it in the flesh on an m2 comp, I run a single midpipe to MPE, but an deffo think of having a go of an equal length one 🤔.
I work in a bmw dealership. Many customers have m2 and m4 with straight pipes and removed the valves. You can't imagine how loud they are in person just in idle. You are not able to talk to a person 5mm close to you
@@tristenlol2480 I mean yeah, but at the same time n55 and s55 sound so different, and there's more difference between a n55 and b58 then a s55. But a n55 to s58 is like completely different.
I am going to have to drive down to miami and visit Active Autowerks to hear it in person. It's so hard to tell in a video. I have MPE, so I am very tempted to get this midpipe. I also have downpipes, so this might be to much.
You can like it or hate it but it sounds nowhere near the normal Aa midpipe or Remus in real life. Maybe that’s how it transpires in the video but it’s not the case. Since then I swapped for an MPE exhaust because it was too loud for me and you couldn’t hear much difference from the inside of the car !!
@@iPod2024 You are telling me the MPE + Secondary Cat Delete is quieter than this IRL? or did you put the secondary cats back in with the MPE? I had an 2017 M3 with MPE and manual valve control and NO cat deletes, that thing was INSANLY loud. I'm now looking into exhausts for my M2CS. Already have the Race OPF-back version from Milltek, debating about getting the equal length upgrade for that.
I ended up fitting an MPerformance exhaust. Sound of the equal length was nice from the outside but from the inside you couldn’t hear much difference. Also with the bends in the exhaust system to add the necessary length, the tubing of the exhaust was very visible from the back of the car which I really didn’t like !
@2:17,....Sounds better with Valves Closed! "Lets Have A Closer Look",...I heard no difference in "Enequal Lengths",...and "Equal Lengths" Not sure of the settings,...but no difference to me!
I think it will be the video because it was definitely a lot louder (the EL version removes the center resonator). It was actually way too loud for me !

@@Hungnguyen-yl3gp oh yea subtle pops r good, but not like those taktaktaktak that sound like a toycar 😅
same here, this one really suits it well!
I took pops and bangs off mine via bimmercode. Sounds less synthetic.

Yeah there is, crank hub bolt and then!
This leaves nothing to complain about with the F8X platform! What a dream come true being able to make such an already good car sound like it should!
Great video! Best one on UA-cam regarding equal length mid pipes.🙏🏽

As midpipe goes best with what axleback? If you want something loud but not obnoxious? Mostly just deep?

Since that video I moved to an MPE (but OEM midpipe) and couldn’t be happier now. Find it so much better. But that’s just my own opinion !

Lol that's what I did. When you first turn it on it's painfully loud.
Can confirm this. Have an M3 with catless downpipes, AA single midpipe, and MPE, and the first cold start scared the daylights out of me.
super illegal in germany...
Who stands 5mm close to anyone?
Sounds a bit “Supra-like” at higher RPMs with the equal length exhaust.
TT i-6
The supra sounds a bit like the M4 really.. supra is a bmw
Likewise the unequal length s55 sound is really bad up top, but good at low-rpm.
i mean s55 and b58 are pretty similar when you think about it

Should have kept the stock stock downpipe with EL midpipe and stock muffler... sounds absolutely smooth and amazing
On this video the car does have stock down pipes !

This is milltek not AA. They sound very different imo
AA recommends their resonated midpipe if you're running catless downpipes.
Hi, where did you buy these equal length pipes? Or built on your own?
I bought it off Milltek, but you have to have their Rear exhaust section to make it work !
@@iPod2024 I already have the milltek race installed on my m3 competition.. Great 😊
Ooof 😩 I'm glad I went with Valvetronic designs equal length. Glad you like it though! I've heard worse for sure!
can you pleaase post an acceleration video filmed from outside?? :) Would love to hear your one
Is there a way of getting rid of the overrun pops on the standard car? Easy to map out?
Hi, you can use an app on the iPhone without needing remapping the car : BimmerLink. It’s very easy and quick
damn wish the Milltek US version sounded like this.
iirc since there's no secondary cat in the US the sound is different and way worse.
How can I get in Japan??
is the standard exhaust the later model which contains an OPF ?
No, it is the earlier model without OPF !
Then people say the G82 sounds better.
This scenery looks a lot like part of the Forza Horizon4 map
i need that spoiler lip, whats it called?
Hi, the boot spoiler at the end of the video is a CS Spoiler !
i like the stock note better. EL makes it sound like a 350z or a vq engine.
Love the vq motor
Thats not a bad thing, VQs sound great
We like that though
Very good video, equal lenght headers helps this engine a lot, but it still doesn"t sound very good.
It's not headers though.
