WATCH ANDY'S @RedBullSkateboarding "SKATE TALES" VIDEO
• Is Andy Anderson The M... - Спорт
Working on Crazy Wisdom with Andy has been one of the high lights of my career. Andy had faith in me to film the project with my phone when no one else would have. Benny Zenga edited it together beautifully. Thanks to George & Stacy & everyone at Powell Peralta. 🐉🐉🐉
@@NkaVidsSkateboarding Bravo, Nigel! Well done!
Seeing the B-Roll in the credits if it being a phone kinda blew my mind. This should be a reminder to everyone, it doesn’t matter what you have, it’s how you use it.
@@mouman The video quality could have been a lot better. I don't know if it was the rendering or encoding but you can see how much bitrate is missing. If you are using an iphone to shoot you have to keep things totally uncompressed until the final render. The skill with the phone is top tier from Nigel, but the technical of the video encoding is way off.
The part is amazingly beautiful. Thank you for this
@@Jdkieddj yeah the video quality sucked. it was like some clips were filmed with a potato and others were fine. prime example is the pyramid ledges clip looks 480p and the clip immediately after is in perfect hd. there's a bit too much b-roll and and bails too. if they cut it down to around 6 minutes and made a few changes editing wise i think this would've been a fantastic part.
The world is just a better place with Andy in it.
😮❤😊
And will never be the same
thanks for keeping vert alive x guys :)
This is THE comment i was looking for!
He straight up is built different.
Thank you to all for watching and sharing this video. Andy, Nigel, Benny, and many more worked extremely hard on this project.
It was nothing really. The wait was a bit sketchy, and I wasn't sure what I was in for hopping into the ABD interviews.. but once the video aired, the rest was a blackout moment.
Thank you for the skateboards!!!
Well, Andy and Benny did, Nigel had to charge his phone 😂
my skating in skater XL rivals this... but I am in awe watching this tbh
It's our pleasure
Some things I love about Andy :
>Own style
>Can do all skate disciplines
>Modest
>Wears a helmet
Andy is easily this generations Rodney Mullen he’s going to inspire a whole new generation of skating.
Both kind souls as well
Come on, stop it, Andy is amazing, but he’s no Mullen. he didn’t create most of the flip tricks. Can’t he just be his own Skater why do people always need to compare or have some equivalency between skaters.
There will never be another Mullen. Taking nothing away from Andy or this part Mullen fundamentally redefined what was possible on a board in a way we will likely never see again. Mullen said let there be light as far as street skating is concerned.
nikka he is lieterally 4 generations above mullen
@princequestly2218 I think you're completely missing the point bud. It's about inspiration to think outside of the norm. Yes Mullen invented or inspired pretty much all of today's common tricks. Skating changed forever because of him. The gnarlyness continues to go up but the creativity has definitely plateaued. Andy is far from the norm. I agree you can't compare him to Mullen based on trick invention but you can on creativity. The industry needs him and I'm glad he's around.
That dark slide flip out on the snake rail is insane.
i mean... technically he didn't 'flip out'... 😅
It was really good though! :3
@@mikayla_collie of Gregson is fiiming you,you are probably pretty fricking awesome
@@20eyesmisfit If I start a skate school I'm gonna be like that woman in the Simpsons teaching dance - 'tapa tapa tap'; but 'wiggle wiggle wiggle' 😋
Favorite trick!
The dark slide to 5-0 might be even more insane.
I hope you drop a b-roll of this so people can see how many times you landed a lot these tricks. Also i think that chain boardslide will never get the appreciation it deserves but im so hyped its the ender because you did a boardslide...a freaking boardslide no one else would have seen, much less be able to do.
Pleassse let Andy drop a raw version of this. Hell, I could watch a 9 hour podcast of him explaining these tricks. So many NBDs and probably NWBDs
you need to have a talk with andy's filmer. some of these clips were filmed with a potato. it's unacceptable for a modern part to be filmed this poorly. the editing with endless b-roll and bails is terrible too. wasted some actual good tricks in this.
Shoutout Dan for being awesome!
@@eyz-4 I think they just took some footage from various UA-cam channels coz it was already filmed nahmean.
We love you Dan. The real ones will take this whole video and appreciate every last second. At least I do. And same thing with your videos. I can’t get enough of you guys! Y’all rock! 💯❤️🤘🏼
Seeing Andy shout “FUCK” with that level of anger on his face was probs the first time I felt like he was a real normal skater and not some insane eldritch creation of skateboarding
You can tell by his hugs, how genuine and caring he is. Everyone should get hugged the way Andy Anderson hugs his friends.
Blending every era of skateboarding seamlessly into whatever I just watched
We just watched probably the most creative skateboarding part ever released. I am absolutely in awe at this man
@@OM3N1R Don't do my man Richie Jackson like that
@@rack2646that dudes a total tool tho. Complete asshole.
you time traveled and watched the future back 10 years ago
Is it just me or is this dude redefining what skateboarding is right before our eyes?
He's got every generation of skating style in one, and his own creativity is beyond anything I've seen in the sport
When you hear him talk with the passion and new ideas and breaking it down scientifically… he is one of a kind..pure soul… I’m 45 and skated my whole life.. Powell peralta was always my boards.. I love the fact he rides for them…Andy and isamu Yamamoto are the best skaters today..
Yeah, this blew me away. Like, he's defining some new epoch here.
Hes just reminding everyone what skateboarding is
yeah man, just you
I love that he doesn’t let the culture around skateboarding dictate to him who he has to be as a skater. Not caring about that peer pressure is the essence of skateboarding and rock n roll.
Completely agree, I admit I used to write him off as a bit gimmicky and never gave him his flowers, but his skill/passion/ creativity on a board just shines through and is undeniable, I really appreciate his place in skateboarding
andy raised the standards of skill and creativity of skating with this video
Just curious, are u an AI? Kind of a generic sentence, just sayin.
@@destructionman1yes i am beep beep boop, wtf bro i am real , maybe ur AI?
Thank you Andy Anderson!
Thank youuuuu Ricky :):):):)
@@authenticandyanderson sup, andy.
I was expecting to see a certain dark slide on this part. I wonder why it wasn’t in there. Do you know Ricky? 😂
@@STEEL4122 low key think the parts better without it 😂👊
heyyy rickyy
I don't think a video part has put this big a smile on my face in 30 years of skating. Andy is the personification of creativity in skateboarding.
IMO he's like Tony Hawk a great skater I mean a phenomenal skater but is more of a technician and lacks STYLE just sayin'
Meh disagree. He’s got style for days. He makes techy shit look dope.
If you say style you can compare Hosoi vs Hawk days. I don’t disagree Anthony hasn’t the style or flow other skaters have. But who said technical tricks at heart depict style? They are technical trick and thus demonstrate the intricacies of the performer and trick alike not a depiction of style.
@@magaan4717 that's a pretty good way to sum it up 👍 there was a "Love letters" by Jeff Grosso talking about style if you haven't seen it yet check it out and yes Hosoi had/has style so does Mark Gonzales and so does Jaime Mateu and whoever you like
The criticism of him being "more of a technician" is ironic considering that is precisely what all the early haters said of both Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen -- that they were both too "technical"
People say "kids don't watch skate parts over and over like they used to in the old VHS and DVD days". I think this part will change that.
Andy is beyond next level. His skating looks like he’s in a dream, defying physics on a skateboard. His attitude and vibe is beautiful. And he wears a helmet… which is a fantastic example to set to the kids.
So unbelievably proud of you Andy! You beyond killed this part and people can really see how you put your heart and soul on display! Show the world who you are because you are amazing!!! 🖤🖤🖤
😅 Chris is buried in the comment section, wtf UA-cam 😋🫒
*waits patiently for Chris' pro model*
Love you so much Chris !! Thanks for supporting me through that Fresno Rail
Yeah for sure!! So happy you got a guest trick in at the ending, love that stump trick and you're so often out there with him with that Hiett brain!
love you chris
That 50 on the squiggly rail was so aesthetically pleasing
Absolute wow, Andy enters the ultra small pantheon of skaters who do things that don't seem physically possible. Rodney, Daewon, Andy.
Andy Anderson is just the definition of "one of a kind" in every way.
Helmet? Lacesaved shoes? Skate style? creativity? board control? mindset?
HE HAS IT ALL. Lets go, Andy!
Don’t forget the double watches
i respect my gy 30 years ag wearing a helmet on street now- everytime he bailed he hit his noggin hard
@@zparkourkidI didn't notice until your comment. Dude really double watches.
That lil freestyle line on the Venice tabletop was like a classy nod to the godfather Rodney Mullen. Props.
There were a lot of nods to the godfather, not just that one.
Is that what used to be the graffiti pits?
This is one of those rare things. There’s nothing like this. This is one of the best skate videos I’ve ever seen.
exactly, it literally feels like i am a young kid again finding YEAH RIGHT! and the Sorry Films for the first time and falling in love with the creativity to skateboarding
It's like he's a super mutant that can absorb or tap into the skill/style/power of all the legendary masters and the godfather all at once and combine everything into a magical spell of performance. Flow like? Huh?
This generation of skaters is lucky to have this guy. He’s a fantastic person.
The drums and board sync'ed together from 8:30 on is perfection. Pure artwork!
He's the one! Andy can skate anything! 10/10 Mr. Anderson!
Duuuuude, I could watch him skate for hours. I love his board wizardry!
ender was absolutely nuts!
Yeah, it was off the chain!
@@davidsimmons6644 😂
any tricks you see worthy of soty?
i see a lot...sadly, SOTY is biased as hell, he used ramps and something to help him do that insane hand rail.
skateer could land a trick that cures world hunger and hate on it cause it was a modified spot.
Hey its the tool
Shut up nerd
bro really skate the streets with helmet and vert without knee pads, what a legend lmao, u da goat andy
I can watch this 100 times and still be amazed.
one of the greatest skate video parts of all time.
This is why skate boarding is so unique and cool. Unlimited trick possibilities from unique and skilled people that each see the world differently.
100% Best damn sport on the Planet.
Yoga mat rail was illegal. I did the same rail with z rollers in 99'.
Yeah, the way he sees different potentials in the spots is awesome … and this ability is what makes skateboarding progress eg Gonz seeing a handrail as something to grind.
I don’t think skateboarding is a sport. It’s so objective. In my opinion a boardslide with good style is better than a switch tre with sloppy style. Skateboarding is an Art more than a sport.
@@SandlapperSam both
A chronological order of trick acknowledgment?! That’s a NBD. What a bad ass…
Im genuinely confused what is a trick acknowledgment supposed to mean
Trick names and those without just who done them in the spot In the past??
@@slowflowlowlow He missed ryan johnson then cuz he was the first one to land the fresno city hall rail
I took it as who's responsible for inventing the trick?
@@559 Like the Natas spin, Rodney mullens freestyle tricks on the little concrete circle at the beach etc. Atleast i think thats what he meant haha
The darkslide on that snake rail might be my favourite trick of the video. It's impressive, but also aesthetically pleasing.
Andy Anderson is a gift to skateboarding.
Andy Anderson has been redefining skateboarding for years, glad to see he finally has a full part dedicated to it
He also has a part a few years ago that’s insane
@@GrumpyWolfman I don't agree he is redefining skateboarding. I think he is taking all the history and skill and showing us the past and what we can do with it. He is a historian that is allowing us to define ourselves with no judgement. Fun is number one, and the pioneers gave us all the tools to be amazing.
@ianlawless7481 while I agree with what you said, isn't what all you just outlined exactly how he is redefining skateboarding? Dude could shred rails but decides to hop off rocks. Just have fun, be safe, ect. A redefinition from the thrasher days. Historian, 100%. Being older I can appreciate seeing the eras pass through his style. But I feel we are kinda watching some skate history in motion also
DARKSLIDE TO 5-0 IS GNARLY
Nbd and now darkslide combos are possible
Yes, and nice gnarly usage!
I cant get enough of andy, hes my favoeite skater of this new generation. Ive been skating off and on for 25 years and hes one of the best skaters i have ever seen, hes an absolute treasure and im so happy hes in the world with us as we live.
The kink rail was insane. My favorite thing about Andy is his custom boards and how much thought and detail went into making it.
Andy is all terrain. Park, street, vert, rails, contest and freestyle.
Most unique and versatile skater there is.

Man i could watch Andy all day every day. Guy is the definition of "beast mode"
Think i smiled all the way through this 🤟🏻
Trick acknowledgment in the credits is next level.
Saw that. Does each trick correspond to something already done by each of those skaters?
@@therealskatedad It seems that, yes, he is acknowledging the inventor of every trick he did in his part. Such a thoughtful and cool thing to do. And you can tell by the obscure names on there, Andy does a LOT of research
@@OM3N1R Several of those names are folks he grew up around in Canada.
I think one of the reasons Andy has made it so far in the 'skating world' comes from how knowledgeable he is, he could write books, if there was an equally talented modern skater that [for example] sneered at Lords of Dogtown; I'd immediately dismiss or even dislike them 😒 Andy actually celebrates in this part with a no pop Ollie grab...... thing ✊😇🫒
Andy is a once in a generation skater. Next to hawk and Mullen
watching this 3-4 times every day so far. I am amazed
Most unique dude out. Jersey barrier to chain to jersey barrier is absolutely wild.
I’m almost 50 years old, and that’s the most beautiful skateboarding I’ve ever seen in my life. The style is unreal.
Same here, I kept drawing comparisons to mullens parts on plan b except Andy is way gnarlier with the pools and rails and 1/2 pipes what an absolute beast
Totally!!!!@@tolstoyleo
Yes!!!
I'm 38 and been out of the loop for a few years. I randomly came across this kid a few months back and was hooked. Made my wife watch it lol. Debatable that he is or is up there with the greatest ever.
He has another Powell video that is absolute greatness also
same here 🔥
Why did this make me feel like I was a kid again watching skating for the first time!
Super coooooool cooooooool vid!! DOOOPPPE intro and music!! Sweet songs and tricks!!
👏😎👏
I dont know why but Andy and Gonz had the same vibe to me!!! When he describes the Natas Spin to the cops I instantly remembered Gonz explaining his hippie flip in a Real video. And then boooom they both instantly made it!!! Absolute legends
Goosebumps several times watching this.
I will admit that I never really thought that much of Andy Anderson 5+ years ago. To be completely honest I judged him for his style and trick selection. I thought to myself that he was just too different to make it anywhere significant and that the skate industry would continue to pass by him with little to no recognition.
I was wrong.
Over the course of time I’ve learned to judge others less because I know that I don’t like to be judged. It’s not the way. I’ve learned that creativity is one of the most vital aspects of being a human. Watching Andy skate is witnessing the essence of love and creativity. He oozes passion. There will only ever be ONE Andy Anderson. I’m sorry that I judged you, Andy. You’re possibly the most creative skateboarder on the planet and not to mention the things you’re doing are unimaginably difficult, and you’re the only one who can imagine doing them. That right there is the source of creativity. I’m not who I used to be, as most of us aren’t. I’m happy that I can appreciate Andy’s talent and discontinue judging what I don’t understand.
Heart melter of a comment man… Thank You So Much
Love this so much! Seeing people march to their own drummer and show passion in their own unique way is the essence of skateboarding.
You win the internet for that comment!
Big ups for you for growing bro.
he will humble you just by existing. isn't it glorious?
I don't care it's iPhone, this makes me realize how much I love skateboarding and Andy's skating shows how much he loves it too!! His style celebrates skating in the best way possible! Respect to the master
This is going to be considered one of the most innovative and stylish videos ever. One love Andy 🤟
This man rolls to the beat of his own drum.
SOTY!!
And he easily has 25 more years minimum to go, great success
He should be but the people at thrasher would never give him that because he dares to wear a helmet and doesn't fit in with their lameass gatekeeping.
Hands down
stop the cap
It's going to Tyshawn again obviously.
This will absolutely go down as one of the greats. What an amazing display of skateboarding.
He skates the world the way it should be possible to. Just effortless fluidity that I haven't seen since vintage Marc Johnson. Thank you Andy. ❤
Andy inspired me to learn how to skate for the first time as an adult. He made it look easy and fun. And while it sure isn’t easy at all, it is just as fun as he made it out to be.
Sensational part, Andy.
I'm in my 50s and Andy has me excited about skating again.
Started at 40 and it truly is insane the feats that skateboarders do. Anything involving taking the board away from the feet to bring back is just a nightmare. I'll stick to carving cause I'm too old to punish my body. But i have huge respect for anyone that can do an ollie, and flipping or spinning the board, you are a superhero, those moves take guts. Even manuals seem so sketched out, doing it on such tiny wheels is spooky. 😅
Love it man, I'm still skating at 45 and love seeing people start my age or older
Wow, mind melting video! Amazing work from everyone involved, but man that intro track is insane! Shout out to tripmastermonk !
His ability to take skateboarding back to it roots aswell as driving it into the future is a feat not many people will ever achieve. The way he approaches his lines mimics a surfer riding a wave, every movement/trick has a purpose of moving to the next section while also taking the spotlight in its own right. Being able to squeeze the life out of each obstacle without appearing to be forcing anthing.
This was like an endless summer, I did not want it to end.
Its cool that he appreciates the HISTORY of skateboarding with the trick acknowledgement in the credits. This dude is a class act.
I'm glad that I was able to get Andy's first board from a skate shop in the Czech Republic. I hope that Powell will do a European tour someday, come to Prague, so I'll have the opportunity to get Andy to sign it for me.
I've been thinking about visiting Czechia, any spots you recommend?
@@antidote5125I mainly go to skateparks but there's a website where you can find a lot of street spots from Prague. It's pretty well made. The spots are categorized (rails, stairs, ledges, gaps, banks, manual ledges, etc.), there's a map, photos of the spots, short descriptions that even include info about potential security and so on. I can't put the link here because UA-cam will hide the comment but if you google "skate spots prague" it should be the top result.
@@antidote5125 I don't know why but UA-cam hid two of my comments already. Try googling "skate spots Prague". The top result should hopefully give you way more recommendations than I can and it's with pictures, important info and so on 😉
