La verdad fue una noche mágica. Separó al bolero ranchero a la balada romántica, ambos géneros maravillosos, y México como siempre los mejores interpretes
Jose Jose (now deceased) is one of the greatest crooners of all time (& my favorite). The band you see here is just the orchestra used in this Latin American contest for the best song, and although this song did not win the only thing anyone remembers is how Jose Jose (in his early 20s) sang it here. He's a master at voice control, vocal nuance, and emotional interpretation -- one of the best and most gracious performers I've ever seen in concert. His big cross-over hit (1969/1970) in the USA was a song called "La Nave del Olvido" (i.e. "The Ship of Oblivion"). Other songs from him: "Almohada," "Amar y Querer," and "Volcan." There are so many more! Fun fact: The style of coat was called "Mandarine" and his hair cut was definitely of that era too!
He was a legendary Mexican singer. He was like our Frank Sinatra. You should look up a translation of the lyrics. It would be great if you reacted to more of him as well. Some songs you should react to are Almohada, Del Altar a la Tumba, and Amar y Querer.
WOW!!!! Amazing beautiful voice great performance even though it’s like in the back with the 70s but that guy goodness great talent and amazing voice beautifu!!!!!!!! ❤️💚💜💙❤️💚💜🦋l
Thanks for this! Jose Jose is probably my favorite make Mexican singer (was since unfortunately he has passed). But listen to more of his songs such as Amar y querer or Almohada. So good!
José José is his nick name, his real name is José Romulo Sosa Ortiz and he was 22 years old in this video. This video was the beginning of his carrier.

Amazing!!! Those long breathes and hold those high octaves... this was a competition when he was young and lost the competition. José José is the artist, that's his name... solo artist, you did well. RIP 🙏alcohol got to him in the later years, he passed away during the pandemic I believe

Spanish is the language spoken in Spain and most latin american countries ( Mexico included ) as well as a few others. Therefore, he's singin' in spanish not mexican as the latter refers to nationality. Don't confuse language and nationality.
Jose Jose forever!
👏👍
José José es simplemente el mejor cantante mexicano de todos los tiempos.
Huge voice at only 22 years old!
