Dimash didn’t explain why he choose this particular poem from 1300 years ago but after I read the lyrics I think I understand. The meaning of the song is the farewell between 2 friends, in this case between Dimash going back to Kazakhstan and his dears in China. Although seperate by thousand miles, their heart is united by a common dream.

Dimash can sing anything, this song was almost tender. It was, if I know that correctly, the setting of an old text by a Chinese poet. And it was a Dimash original again because it mixes cultures again. The Chinese through the poet and his alone through the Dombra.

Hey, guys. This was a recording of Chinese TV, "classic wings", where he had to choose a theme from an author from an old dynasty. This song is the work of a 7th-8th century poet about friendship, it's a kind of challenge, the viewer's word here too, (Dimash has around 1,500,000 votes in 1 week) but it's also an honor for anyone invited to this event. In 2017, he was a teenage boy in China,,, this year he's come back as a man, an author, and, of course, a wonderful performer.
In 2017 Dimash was not a teenage boy....he was 22....now he's 26....and it's not author....this song was not created by the poet....it's a new song for Dimash specifically for this show with its lyrics based on a poem from the Tang Dynasty.
The poem itself was from the Tang dynasty, some 1300 years ago. Amazing, right?
Then they composed the music around it and voila! A Dimash original and so beautiful.

Another beautiful Chinese song. I saw in an English subtitled video that the judges were so impressed with Dimash's Chinese pronunciation. It makes me proud. This performance is a new release, but , I believe, Dimash sang it back in January, 2020.

They even harm Dimash, they have been broadcasting a livestream of Bastau concert at the same time as the ministery of Kazakhstan officially did. and have stolen the views from the official channel. Now the guys from the ministery channel must think that the Dears aren’t very interested in Dimash. They also have stolen the logo and pretended to be something official. After being blamed and excluded of many Fanclubs on Facebook they removed the logo and the video of Bastau and changed the channel name. It’s a shame.

Always good to paint a picture so viewers have more depth into a song and so on.
This is a very old Chinese poem about 2 good friends parting ways yet still remain friendship no matter how far apart that Dimash and crew arranged it into a song on this TV show.
Yep he had to learn how to sing this song in Chinese as well, evidently.

No doubt his voice is an arrangement of musical instruments through a human vessel. However, his exotic performance gets in the way for me. I’d like to see it stripped down a bit, without the graphics, for a smoother transition of melody.

After looking over your reaction history, I don't see a couple of reactions that I wish for you to have.
First, there is a performer named Tenger (aka Tengri) who came to my attention on the show "Singer" the season after Dimash was introduced to the global audience through UA-cam.
He performs a song of his called "Heaven", which is about his love of his homeland of Mongolia. Sadly, captioned versions disappear pretty quickly, but his music and his spirit linger.
