- Maruti Suzuki XL6 facelift gets more than just cosmetic changes. While its engine is the same 1.5-litre NA petrol, it now can be mated to a new 6-speed automatic gearbox! There's a bunch of other stuff too, which Cyrus Dhabhar explains in this first-drive review. Priced between Rs 11.29 lakh to Rs 14.55 lakh (ex-showroom), it competes with the Kia Carens.

So for whatever reason I had to drive around a lot in the last 3 months. I've been making regular bookings from Zoomcar for every weekend. Of all the vehicles I stress tested across different roads and terrains, I must say I fell in love with the overall look, feel and features of the Automatic XL6 top end variant. Yes. Expensive. But god damn does it tick off all the boxes. And no other brand or car will compare at this price point even though its costlier than it once was. Period. I was aching for a THAR before this. Now? I'm not so sure anymore. The whole vehicle feels premium and looks the part. Luggage space, seat comfort, pedals ease of use, automatic shifts are good, overdrive works as expected, so does cruise control, precise and light steering, spacious as hell cabin, huge windows and windshield, excellent AC and ventilated seats, perfect creep function, and above all else the UNHOLY beautiful sound system had our entire family just enjoying the long rides we did. 500km plus and people were happily sleeping away in the car. Why? Because apart from all of these features and creature comforts you don't realize you ever needed, this car has an exceptional suspension. Eats bumps and breakers for breakfast as long as you know how to temper your speeds. Even off-road it did the job well. I for one, am impressed. Can't wait to see what enhancements they make to this one down the line.
To the storytellers at PD, as good as your content has become over the last 5-6 years; I often find some really important technical bits missing in your videos, especially on the safety and safety features side, they’re either not mentioned, or if they are they are brushed off in a line or two. Please start talking a bit more about the practical important stuff that would affect the common car driver as well. We as your audience rely on you to give us comprehensive details about the car which basically include each and every detail that’d affect the driveability, comfort and safety of the buyer. Y’all miss out talking heavily about the latter

Yes, lately they are missing more thing's which forces us to watch another videos for more details.. Kind of time waste.. But always watches power drift video first 😁
Yea true! PD reviews are so short these days. Like even in this video no mention about the rear seats , suspension setup , ride and handling , boot space etc. I understand nothing much has changed from the previous car but a quick mention abt the whole car will help.
Drive safely and wear seat belts and there shall not be any safety issues. Atleast that's how I roll
The pricing is something i cannot digest..
Kia Carens makes a lot more sense of one is shelling that kind of money along with a feel of luxury..
However Kia has its own challenges.
Long waiting period.
Maruti with its herd mentality buyers will go & buy this eyes closed due to non availability of Carens

Safety is hard to judge by knocking the sheet metal. Yes, knowing how safe a car is super crucial but it’s something that needs to be tested by folks like NCAP. While we as consumers must choose good and safe cars.
@@powerdriftofficial By safety, we mean tell us more about the safety features in the car. Although it won't give NCAP like rating, it'll at least give us a fair idea.

The thud of the door when Cyrus closed it was quite loud, infact unlike a Maruti. So maybe they have worked on the safety finally
Please compare Ertiga and Carens 1.5 petrol.
They provide 4 airbag as a standard. Still isn't good enough for safety. They have implemented airbag only because of safety norms of govt.😌
The new norms will need 6 airbags. And that’s a major retooling of the roof.
Still old I like due to grill and 16 wheel cut in new facelift. Cool seat. 4 airbag, 6 speed AT torque converter, chrome are not value addition for 2 lac price hike.
they need to push the r&d for the 6 speed on to consumers so the hike is not fair but justifiable

One more boring and overhyped car from Suzuki.
Man this was my dream first car.
Until I got to experience Ertiga CNG running costs which I then bought after a waiting period of 9 months.
Haha! Can’t beat that 😆
