    Fun part, it wasn't Eli hitting the high note. Cesar said he'd like to do it, and Eli said go for it. So the "baritone" of the group hit the high note. For me it demonstrates not only their amazing abilities, but the personality of the group, the willingness to share the spot light.

      This is also further proof that Cesar is just as much an alien as the rest of them are!

      @@ShadowPerson11Cesar is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

    A G5 by Cesar is very high.
    One of the things I love about Voiceplay and Geoff's Patreons is their behind the scenes videos. They are awesome. Kathy, Geoff's wife is fantastic at capturing, editing and releasing their BTS videos. She is also their Production Manager.
    This was filmed in an abandoned high school in Leesburg Florida. Not far from Orlando.
    It is also the second in their post-apocalyptic series. Warriors is first and where Layne got his nickname VioLayne.
    The third is Seven Nation Army. Filmed in an abandoned department store in the same mall as Pattycake Productions. Pattycake is where they film most of their videos.

    they don't record on set, very few people record the audio during the filming of the music video. Geoff and VoicePlay record in their home studios, and film the music video afterwards. the only times you see a live recording is during their ACA Top 10's, where they do a live one take performance.

      There are just too many variables and possibilities of ambient contamination to be able to use location audio in music videos. Though, they usually do actually sing while recording so it looks right.

    If you watch or react to the two Loops they've done you will see their microphones. In them they are putting together an arrangement with one starting then the others adding what they want. It is not the way their covers are arranged but does show some of the at home personality and skill of each of them.

    You can see the microphones they use in their "Loops" and a little of how their studios are set up. There are a couple bts on UA-cam one in particular is "My first video with Voiceplay | Behind the Scenes" when they invited Adriana Arellano to make a video (Frozen 2 Medley)with them. Really have enjoyed your Voiceplay journey.

    As someone already said, there are fantastically fun BTS videos on their patreon. But Geoff also mentions what microphone he uses in one of his Q&A videos on his own channel on YT.

    It isn’t just the high note. It’s that the baritone hit it, done in harmony with the two tenors providing their support ! When you listen again, pay attention to Geoff in that climb to the high note. He is also climbing, but at a lower pitch. Took me a number of listens to catch that.

    They do not record their audio on set, but if you want to see their recording set ups, you should check out the Voiceplay Loops 1 and 2! They are basically a game that Cesar came up with to arrange a song in a creative way, almost like a game of telephone, and you get to see each of them recording their parts in their home studios.

    If you become one of their patreons, they typically have a BTS video for each release that will show some of the production side.

      And the bts of this video especially is hilarious! Black socks and a certain someone getting stuck in his shirt! 😂😂😂

    As others have commented, they are singing along to a pre-recorded track when they're filming their videos. Geoff even says that he really doesn't do actual full-throated singing when singing along with the track, although Cesar usually does. Besides the fact that it just doesn't seem feasible for them to try and do a live version with all the takes and hours it requires for them to record these videos, you will find that they do rely on double tracking sometimes, which obviously wouldn't be possible to do in a live setting. Plus, the guy who's responsible for the arrangement and the video concept really has to be paying a lot of attention to how things are looking video wise, so they are on the sidelines watching during a substantial number of takes.
    I see someone has mentioned that you might be able to see videos online that they've posted showing what kind of equipment they are using for the recording. I'll just add that Geoff has said that in particular he has to use a very specific set of filters and EQ settings in order to get his very low vocals to record successfully, particularly as he actually doesn't sing them at a very high volume when he's recording, and that he is actually a pretty quiet singer when he's down in his lowest register . You noted that your settings allow you to record your reactions without having problems with environmental noise like the air conditioning interfering with the sound. Unfortunately, for Geoff, those settings that he has to use to pick up his low vocal sections means that he has to record with the air conditioning off, because that noise would definitely be picked up while recording. So, in his case suffering for his art means sitting in his home studio, stinky and sweaty, to record his vocals, LOL.

    Thank you for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. Please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover of Hell Fire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Also Voice Plays cover of Halo, the theme song from the Halo video game. Please watch till the end for a very important message about the game & how it is near & dear to them. The composer of the music said it was the best he ever heard. He was blown away by it.

    Homerun for sure. Hard to believe they could pull off Dream On as acapella. Layne's beatboxing really kept momentum for the song. Loved the build-up to the high note. Amazing!!

    This was filmed at Leesburg High School in Eli's old neighborhood. Cesar asked Eli if he could be the one to hit that last high note. Cesar hits an even higher note in The Lion Sleeps Tonight. They each have home studios. Become a patron and you can see how they do it all. Videos are all lip sync.

    As other's have said...Cesar's on top!! And, go check out their LOOPS to see how they record the vocals. They do sing for the video so that everything syncs up correctly, but actual vocal tracks are done separately. Great reaction!!

    As mentioned below, since the start of the plandemic, they actually record at each individual's home and send their parts in to "usually" Layne to put together. He's the artist with the machinations. Watching the two loops will give you an idea on what microphones they use and how their material is put together. Also, watch the reactor who interviewed Layne to see how he does his thing. Incredible stuff. Probably won't work for any future live shows, though.

Especially Tim Foust his range is PHENOMENAL .... but.. glad to have found you because I am obsessed with watching reactions and yours are a happy happy thing to watch.

    For a live session, PLEASE check out VoicePlay singing ACA Top Ten Disney Heroes, Sidekicks, or Villains. Each video is recorded in one take. You'll see mics for Geoff (bass is hard to pick up so he's right up against that mic) and Layne (like you said, his pops, snaps, and weird mouth noises don't pick up well and he needs a special mic). Although, I noticed that they use different mics each time. Maybe upgrades?

    • @rhov-anion
      @rhov-anion Місяць тому

      Oh, also... this was back when Earl was with the group with that insane high tenor voice of his, and you can see the evolution of his beard, as Geoff's hair slowly growing out. In the Sidekicks video, you'll also see J.None take over as bass while Geoff sings lead. J None currently sings bass with the Navy, although in VP he was baritone. They all have massive vocal ranges, which makes them all so awesome.

    • @rhov-anion
      @rhov-anion Місяць тому

      Ah, last note... I know you've already recorded reactions to some of their Disney songs. They eventually recorded full versions of many of their Disney Top Ten songs, like "Friends on the Other Side," "Hellfire" as a (mildly terrifying) Geoff feature, a full version of "Poor Unfortunate Soul" in their Little Mermaid medley (your kids will love that one), "Oogie Boogie" went viral on music forums back in 2019 and brought most people to VoicePlay, and Geoff recently uploaded a short of "Trust in Me" on his solo channel that is hypnotic. Each one of those is a suggestion, by the way, haha!

    About the only major group i know that records their videos with the music in one take is postmodern jukebox. They are awesome fyi. Only do vintage style covers of iconic songs with top notch vocalists and musicians
