Top class Keith! There is something very disappointing when these anti establishment rebels turn into the establishment when they are older. Then again Jagger is a Tory and supported Thatcher. His mother was an active member of the Conservative party.. I read Keith's autobiography 'Life'. He is the real deal and is still a rebel today. Good on him.
@@amandadassonville4043 The following is what was wrong with Thatcher: Thatcher did not support gay rights and introduced section 28 which banned schools from learning or promoting anything to do with gays. Jagger himself has been reported to have had gay dalliances, including one with David Bowie. Thatcher did not regard herself as a woman nor align herself with other women. Politically she was a man. The following is one of her quotes 'I have heard that feminists hate me and I don't blame them. I hate feminism. It's a poison'. The definition of feminism simply means the concept and belief that men and women are equals. So Thatcher basically believed that men are superior to women. When a bill was proposed to give married couples on benefits their own separate benefits, the rest of her cabinet supported this. She rejected this on the grounds that it would undermine men as the head of the household. She and the queen believed in a patrilineal society. She regarded herself as one of a few exceptional women who could do the job of a man - the rest of us ordinary women should go back to the kitchen. When Rupert Murdoch began publishing photos of topless women in his newspaper The Sun in 1970 for years many women, notably MP Clare Short, tried to end this on grounds that it was degrading to women, presenting women as sex objects and harmful to society. In 1986 Clare presented a bill to ban the publication of pornographic images in newspapers. Unfortunately it was defeated. This was the backdrop behind which 80,000 women are raped, 400,000 women are sexually assaulted in the UK each year as well as two women a week are killed due to domestic violence. Not only that but it created a climate of disrespect towards women and where men openly commented on women's bodies 'look at the tits on that' became a normal phrase men would use in the 1970's. Thatcher refused to support the ban on this, no doubt because Rupert Murdoch was her staunch supporter. After the Jimmy Saville scandal the No More Page 3 campaign began and this eventually ended in 2012. The story begins in 1972 with the miners strike and then in 1974 a second miners strike brought down the Heath government. The Tories knew they had to destroy the power of the National Union of Mineworkers and their plan was set in motion. When Thatcher came to power in 1980 she knew that the one thing standing in her way of a full blown free market, capitalist society was the miners. So she went for them by shutting down mines. One tactic used was criminalization - this involved portraying miners as violent thugs in the Tory press. This tactic had to have a trial run to make sure it would work - this was done in 1972 when the Shrewsbury Pickets were tried and imprisoned for 'conspiracy to intimidate'. This tactic was used against the Hillsborough football fans following the disaster in 1989 when 96 Liverpool fans were crushed to death - innocent football fans were transformed into drunken thugs who caused the disaster themselves, courtesy of Rupert Murdoch and the rest of the right wing press. In 2012 after years of campaigning, the fans were exonerated and the police were blamed for the disaster. No policeman ever faced prison. Thatcher wasn't going to turn on the police who helped her smash the miners. Coal was stockpiled. The year long strike ended in defeat for the miners. She robbed these men of their livelihoods. Since that time things have gone steadily worse for working class people - we have zero hour contracts, 150,000 austerity deaths, foodbanks, the NHS is starved of funds - the list goes on. This is Thatcher's legacy. Yet multi national companies get richer and richer through tax breaks. Thatcher was very close friends with one Jimmy Saville - he used to spend New Year's Eve with her. Despite her advisors drawing attention to questions about his personal life, Thatcher ignored this and got him a knighthood. After his death it was revealed that he was a notorious paedophile. Don't tell me Thatcher didn't know. This woman waged war on the working class people of this country, calling them 'The Enemy Within'. She introduced the Poll Tax which tried to force the poorest person in the poorest accommodation the same as the richest person. Then came the riots which finished her. She spouted a great deal of rhetoric about 'terrorism' - even labelling Nelson Mandela as a terrorist. There is now a statue of Mandela in Parliament Square, London. Her son Mark was involved in a failed coup to overthrow an elected government in Equatorial Guinea, because he wanted to get his hands on their oil. Turns out she had a terrorist in the family all along. This terrorist never spent a day in prison - he hid behind mummy's skirts. So where is all this 'stand on your own two feet' philosophy here? She was also best friends with the terrorist Pinochet. The Suffragettes would have been labelled as terrorists - yet without their sacrifice Thatcher would not have been allowed to vote let alone become the PM.
@@bobbobbins4877 Thatcher didn't have a day off when she set out to destroy all working class resistance. I suppose Mick can afford to take time off and party in style as he is one of the super rich now. The Stones became famous in the 60's which was a time of social change. All this really meant to Mick was that he could sleep with as many women as he wanted. You can't afford to have time off while fighting disaster capitalism which is harming humans, animals and the planet.
@@bobbobbins4877 After Thatcher defeated the miners and shut down the pits, Mick recorded a song about how people should work and how he 'wasn't going to cry for them if they were lazy'. This was completely appalling after the miners were robbed of the livelihoods by Thatcher and had no jobs to go to.
Taylor was simply amazing, and interviews with Jagger show that he enjoyed having a true virtuoso guitarist in the band. Even Ritchie Blackmore admits that Taylor is an amazing guitarist. It's too bad Jagger was so unfair to him in songwriting credits. Ofcourse, the Stones probably wouldn't be together today if Taylor had stayed with them. It was Ronnie Woods' diplomacy that kept it from all falling apart in the 80s.
Mick don't gives credits cause of Keith who finished to imposed Ron. Mick doesn't want to break the Stones and they are still there. Once Taylor said he was sorry for Mick for the way he left the Stones.
I can definately agree, but that's why I like the both of them, and why I think it all worked.. You get a dynamic and a contrast with the members, which kept them from being the same old, boring, run of the mill rock stars cut from the exact same cloth... Well, that and a number of other things.
Keith's such a laid back, funny, blunt son of a gun! Real Saggitarius. And Mick is a Leo indeed, quite vain, doing his best to be classy, respectable, youthful and stuff.
Brian Jones would have been the real deal had he lived and had he not gotten so emotional when the group first became famous because, after all, he was the one most interested in the Chicago-style blues.
Those two are like blood brothers. But at the same time something about their relationship screams husband and wife to me. I'm not calling them gay, but aspects of their dynamic are reminiscent of it. They experience emotions very strongly (happiness and sadness) and when Mick said that Keith's not a happy person, he's just saying that nothing he does ever seems good enough for his band mate who's opinion probably means a good deal to him.
Stop looking for things where they don't exist. The reason you are doing that is because consciously/subconsciously you want it to be true, which makes me think you are gay to be honest.
@@giorgikotetishvili8037 oh for Christ's sake, saying two men have the dynamic of a husband and wife isn't calling them gay (although there has been rumours about Mick's alleged bisexuality). Lots of people who have known them have called Mick the wife and Keith the husband. Any two creative partners who have been together that long form a closeness. Lennon-McCartney were compared in nearly the same way (with Lennon definitely having been bisexual).

For you *are* humanity. You are the world in expression." Jiddu Krishnamurti
@@DM-kv9kj Interesting comment. And I don't want to be argumentative but the last quotation seems like psycho babble or a jab at nationalism. Here is what usually is the case .. people who down nationalism are usually from places whose country sucks. They use that as a ploy to get into your or my country w a superior standard of living and if they are too stupid or stubborn to assimilate then they down the country which they sought to immigrate. So they are typical illogical liberals. It's like this.. . If you disdain nationalism then why try so hard to come to my country who respects our nationalism, something you proclaim is no good? Wouldn't you be better off staying in your beloved shit hole and enjoying it's "culture" and all it has or hasn't to offer.
It's just a good cop bad cop thing. Now... show me your money 🐸
They are not 'friends', they are brothers. They were both laughing about it, and you see them collaberate with each other on stage during concerts.
“Anyway, I wouldn’t let that family near me with a sharp stick never mind a sword” 🤣
" if you can't understand that, you can't understand anything "
hehe, I wonder who's not a happy person in this interview?
...and Keith wrote the song Happy on top of that! =)
They r both so beautiful persons/musicians --and funny :-))) !
Gotta love Keith!!!!!
I am displeased too Mr Jagger
0:40 is where to go for the best Keith facial expression ever
Keith is right 😂
"I wouldn't let that family next to me with a sharp stick, let alone a sword" 😂😂
I enjoyed seeing Mick playing slide guitar along with Ron Wood.
"Closed Caption" always has a field day with Keith. I love it! Plus, Keith is right about that hoity-toity BS.
Nothing wrong with Thatcher. She got the ball rolling. ⚽🐝
@@susangavaghan, have a day off
@@bobbobbins4877 Thatcher didn't have a day off when she set out to destroy all working class resistance.
I hope that Rock 'n Roll never dies. According to Neil , it cant.i hope to hell that's fucking true.
You just gotta Luv Keef
I totally agree with Keith and like him, he has NO FILTER.
brilliant kieth richards....just brilliant!!
Keith is always funny and three times the person Mick will ever be.
Zodiac signs and their meaning only exist in your head.
Typical Scorpio
I know which one of the two I’d rather hang with. Keith is the real deal
Brian Jones would have been the real deal had he lived and had he not gotten so emotional when the group first became famous because, after all, he was the one most interested in the Chicago-style blues.
@@ClassicTVMan1981XBrian jones was an overrated dead beat dad junkie with brainless fans who know nothing
Keith straight but Jagger is bi- sexual . Nick and David had undeniable chemistry .
If Richard's didn't have that tough personslity..jagger! Would have taken over that band..in the .I'd to late 80s..
Jaggar..loves keith..but there's a certain part of him..that does blame Richard's for his junkie days. Mick played a dirty trick on richards..not long after Richard's
Kicked heroin..jagger bought a half ounce of smack..put it on a table..for Richard's to come in and notice..richards..just took it n threw it out..thats how tough Keith is..anyone dlse..would have been using again.
He caught Ronnie wood. Doing Crack in his hotel room. After Keith told him..no drugs on this tour. Broke into Ronnie's hotel rok.. grabbed Ronnie by his throat..Richard's don't play. Keith! Is rock n roll.
Keith said as much. He's the husband and Jagger's the wife does explain their relation in some ways.
I like Keith, I think he’s more down to earth. He’s surprised Mick would accept a title after being exile in Main St. Keith has been more successful in love and marriage than Mick so he’s got that.
Love Keith... Lol. Love mick too but Keith got the last word here..lol.
Ed Sheeran agrees with Keith about that "family" and the sword and has the stitches to prove it.
Mick being knighted... a young Keith once saying "I'll never say yes sir to anyone."
Filmed at one of my favorite haunts ~ Fenway Park in Boston.
Waited all his life for this, thought he was lancelot. Keith is real, happy or unhappy.
Keef's comment at the end is classic. The Stones are the most poetic, primal and stylish of blues rock bands and Jagger was wrong to accept such a nonsense. Brilliant artist that he is (WITH the Stones)
Very, very well said. Excellent observation.
Could not agree more! No muss. No fuss. And just kick-ass drumming all the way.
Couldn't catch everything Keith said.. I am sure it was hilarious.. I could tell by the way he was carrying on . LOL
Keith’s full comment is quoted here in the comments
KEITH I LOVE YOU............
Yeah who would let a gang of murderers near them with a sword, good point Keith.
I stand with Keith on this one. The Royal Family are... fill in the blank, people.
Now Keith is exactly the kind of guy who you want to a beer with. If that remains the test for a great politician, he’d make a great one. Love you, Keith! ❤
Keef should be honoured with an OBE, Outlaw of British Establishment. Rock on Keef.
Keith you crack me up!
Amen to that, brother. You're exactly right. And as far as Mick the Prick saying Keith isn't a happy person....the opposite is true. Jagger is the unhappy, friendless one.
It took me a while to catch on to what the interviewer was doing. I believe what he was doing with his reaction was 1. Not get into a fight. 2. Not get fired, and Last but not least, say "Bullshit." When someone says Keith isn't a happy person, "Bullshit!" is the only proper response.
I have never, ever, ever seen Mick in a bad mood... ever.
The more I watch Keith Richards interviews, the more I find it funny just how much Phil Cornwell nailed all of his speech mannerisms into making Murdoc.
What a Knight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rock & Rolling Stones

"Watch those taillights fade and there's not dry eye in the house."
Kieth is priceless.
Classic line at the end.
I don’t understand why Townsend or Roger Daltry get knighthood if Mick, and Paul and Ringo got knighthood
The Who were giving hospital wings for teenage cancer kids England, USA
Keith reminded mick that those are the same people who framed them to end up in prison 20 years ago
BAD MOVE MICK.😂🤣😂Talk about a loss of Street Cred.
Keith nailed it .shoddy is correct
hey did anyone else notice that Keith has a cigarette in both hands? hahaha nice one Keith

If Keef didn’t play guitar, he’d be a standup comic.
