Hi TOO! The Harris Chain is unforgiving, I am a native and fished the chain all of my life, it's tough. I was driving by your place yesterday and wanted to stop by but I didn't want to be that guy that just shows up at your place.... I've watched and liked every one of your videos for several years now, I hope to meet you in person one day, I live just down the road from you. Maybe I could give you a spot or two to try fishing, give gator hole a try, it's a good area lots of times.
Hey! probably a good thing you didn't- I've been down for 3 days! screwed up my back again lugging those marine batteries to/in the boat. pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve, feels like both! 3 days wasted sitting here in agony. but don't give up on me! Hahaha! Stop by anytime before 3, I usually take my old man nap around that time. Hahaha! Thanks for tuning in over the years and have a great Holiday!
I know a little something about crappie fishing, that’s the only fishing I do. You got to find some 20’ water and fish around 8 to 10’. Those ones in 8’are small ones and won’t bite. Make some crappie condos and put several around each other in 20’ of water and you will have a great spot to fish. Get some long crepe myrtles limbs and cement them in a 5 gal bucket. Get the longest limbs you can handle. Make 5 of them to put around each other and then it’s a crappie magnet. Just don’t let anyone see where you put them and make sure you can find them. I fish lake eufaula Al like this and so do all the guides. That’s how the guides are able to put their clients on fish every time. Christmas trees will work but won’t last as long as. Good luck 👍 🙏
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. I've caught crappie right off the shoreline in 2 ft of water but thats another story- the point here is no one is catching anything- deep-shallow, lake, creek or canals! and when they do its been 1, 2 or 3 small ones. I told the story about this place in the last video- its a fish camp. These guys come down here every year from up north and load up on crappie- freeze them and take them back up north when they leave. Its not their 1st rodeo or mine, trust me. Same thing happened last year at Lk. Fairview. All the regulars that fished Fairview, were catching nothing and didn't come back. And that lake would get fished hard! I hit my spot, 24 foot deep and come up right off the bottom. I caught 2 small ones in two hours and gave up. The year before I did much better. Its all about the weather and the time of day/night. Florida is weird with these back to back cold fronts- temperatures are up and down- even after a good cold snap and it warms up the plants think its spring and will start to bud- Hahaha. I fished the Conway Chain for years, best times were 1-5:00 in the morning, we knew all the deep holes, but there only good if the fish are suspended and not moving. Best was when they're were schooling, that's when the rods would go flying off the boat, literally! In those days we used smaller lightweight r&r's for spec fishing. Sometimes we'd set up floating lights and wait for them to come to us. Anyway I'm sure it's gonna get better if we can get some steady cold weather, they'll start moving up more in the canals and creek looking for warmer waters to spawn. And no I won't be lugging 5 gallon buckets of concrete around! Hahaha not with my bad back! Those marine batteries are enough for me! Thanks again & Stay Tuned!
It's not Lake Eufaula in Alabama, it's proper name is Lake Walter F. George and it's inside Georgia (ask the Corp of engineers) over in Ft. Gaines. I do agree it does also wet Alabama dirt so be proud. 🤪
@ I’ve only lived here all my life so I do know what it’s called and the lake is lake eufaula that is in the Walter F George Reservoir . You can use google if you’re still confused!!
@@mwatkins2464 Google doesn't and can't make it's name official, only the U.S government does that and they have since the late 50's. I've been here so long I remember when churches, graveyards, homes, barns were flooded over, I've got original maps showing their locations. I'm out of this thread so good day to you Sir but please leave us all a few fish to catch.
@@t.j.h2810 it’s funny you think eufaula is on the Georgia side. Don’t you know Alabama and Georgia are on both sides of the water😂 I’m sorry I was raised not to make fun of people but you had it coming
Went out near Gandy Bridge in Tampa today. Caught 15 speckled trout and a few ladyfish. No big ones but it was the best I've done since the hurricanes. Most of the ramp docks down here were wrecked.
COME ON FISHIES!! 😂 Love this episode....so funny seeing you use a fish finder, reminds me of how much I hate them for giving you so much hope only to be disappointed! 😂 I just use a sounder for seeing structure now, that's the only way to go! Keep up the great vids my friend! 😁👍
December is the worse month for fishing. After the solstice the days start getting longer and it will get better 👍 Even up north here ice fishing gets better in January
As others have said fine the deep holes , make you a spider pole rig , set your poles up at different depths put a live minnow on a bottom hook and a jig about 18 to 24 inches above that. The minnow will work the jig for you.
For Crappie use minnows under a float on a 2/0 lite wire hook drop in and around the lilly pads or around structure in deeper water . Adjust your float up or down 6 inches at a time until you find them. on Lake Toho that was how we caught buckets full. And we caught lots of bass the same way.
When I'm struggling catching anything I always switch to live bait try a couple nightcrawlers or maybe some minnows and if you can't catch them on live bait they ain't biting
@THISOLDOUTBOARD1 Thanks for taking us along on your journeys glad to see how well the new place is working out cool that your boat has a roof and it seems like it's a little more secure and you get to have some new adventures. You didn't ask for it but sometimes change is good although your projects might take a hit it'll be fun watching you fish and have fun on the water
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Well I'm no expert but since I decided to start using this thing I've done some homework. The main reason is to see depth, this lake is very murky, cant see the bottom. I know your just kidding but a leaf/debris would have to be extremely dense for the sonar to pick it up. The sonar actually picks up the fishes air bladder- crazy right! I see they're banning live scope from tournaments or something like that.
Having Fish ID ON is going to throw you , reads debris AND fish as a fish symbol. Turn it off and look for arches, those are your fish. Not sure why they've got it set up that way but same for Lowrance. Fish move to deeper water in winter usually.
@THISOLDOUTBOARD1 I watch all of your videos. Love seeing what you are up too. The new place is taking some getting used too. But it's good you have a covered stall for your boat now!!!
Them fish are not liking what your selling or throwing to them lol that's part of fishing. It might be best thing to do is look for them small shrimp that might be what the fish are waiting you never know until you try and see
Fish don't change their eating habits due to daylight savings time, did you change the clock on your fish finder to fish time, that's really important ya know....LOL
Yeah I need it more to see the lake bottom and stuff too, the water here is very murky- the last lake I lived on was crystal clear. Thanks for tuning in!
I think I'd sit back with a good one and a cold drink and relax listening to the birds.....
Hahaha thats what I was doing! but no good one or cold one! do that later when I get home! Hahaha SHOW ME THE FISH! I luv it! Thanks for Tuning In!
I've never seen anybody fish the way you do. At least not around these parts. Thanks for sharing.
Hahaha! Thanks for tuning in!

Good video…👍
Hahaha! Thanks for tuning in!

Thanks for tuning in!

I bet your right! Thanks for tuning in!
I hope you catch your "turkey bass" for Christmas🎅
Hahaha! Thanks for tuning in!

I have fiah finder, but i think it's a fish pretender, 😂. I just use it for depth and to find contour, the fish thing is a joke.
Yeah I need it more to see the lake bottom and stuff too, the water here is very murky- the last lake I lived on was crystal clear. Thanks for tuning in!
try just regular bait and a hook
Thanks for tuning in!
try live bait until you figure that place out
Yeah man! Thanks for tuning in!
You would be better off low speed trolling till you catch a fish. Then stop. That graph not worth much.
Been there done that . Nothing ! Thanks for tuning in!
