Our life has changed SO much since we gave up vanlife to park off grid in the woods and while it's been wild and wonderful, there are definitely parts we haven't discussed with you! We’ve been fighting the cold for the last week or so and with missing parts for the geodesic dome, sauna, and bad weather…we’re taking it as a sign to rest this week but wanted to sit down and do a Q&A to expose all our juicy secrets we don't get to chat about in our regular vlogs! #vanlife #buildtimelapse #qanda

How did we get here?
After a year of full time travel living the vanlife, we had to adapt when the world changed. To keep busy we’ve converted our tiny house on wheels into a fully functioning off grid tiny house that has everything we need. Realizing that none of us know how long this new normal will stick around, we made the decision that building a home here was the best decision we could make. We've spent the last year doing EVERYTHING involved with coordinating and planning the build ourselves as well as setting up this off grid property to be able to provide us with the the food we'll need in the future. Hit with constant delays and building price increases, realizing our dream of building our own home has taken longer than anticipated. With travel starting to reopen again, we've learned so much about the importance of having a home base. and are excited to continue our build this dream here while also doing what we love most, exploring and seeing the world!
We were so overwhelmed by how many questions all of you sent in, we’re definitely going to do more videos like these in the future because not only does it feel great opening up but it was so awesome to look back on everything we've accomplished the last year or so. I personally liked this format! It's structured, you had time to prepare (compared to the live chat), also under 30 minutes is reasonable to watch in one sitting (or in two), again, compared to 1.5 hours of live chat (I never even tried tbh).

Healthy and honest internal communication with yourself is even better. Oftentimes, we engage in unhealthy relationships where we need to listen to our guts, rather than try to talk our partners.
And the hardest thing to learn for some of us.
I, as a 74 year old heterosexual being am so glad I met the two of you! You have taught me many things, about love, togetherness, work ethics, the ability to laugh in the midst of the latest disaster you go through, etc. I am thankful God allowed me to get to know you thru UA-cam! Me too. My hubby just realized the Two Ts were not hetero. I’m still laughing at him. He still loves them. They just don’t act like our acquaintances so he didn’t clue in. These guys have made us laugh and cry. But they always get each other through. We’ve been married 44 years. Young love is so refreshingly nostalgic.
This is ditto for me (3 months and I'll be 74!). Lived through the 60s and 70s with communes (never participated) but this is unlike anything I have ever encountered. Not religious so I don't know what brought me here!! Your relationship is an inspiration to every couple. Remember that there is a whole other hemisphere down here ....... I'm in Australia .... so when you start to travel again...... 🇦🇺

The Q and A vlogs presented sporadically are really great.
OK…REALLY FOLKS? An OnlyFans? An Open Relationship? Have you been watching these two? They are SOOOO DEVOTED to each other and so committed. They don’t need ANYTHING to spice their relationship up. You can see how close, dedicated, and in love they are numerous times in each vlog. Plus, they work so so hard constantly. And it is truly teamwork that makes them so successful. Todd’s meticulous details and plans make sure everything runs smoothly, and Tyler’s ability to communicate with all the contractors, delivery people, etc, etc etc make this team unstoppable.
And can we talk about the camera work. OMG! Everything is just breathtaking. The drone shots are truly fantastic. Tyler, you are a natural.
I think I am up to video number 105 so far, since I started at the beginning. I haven’t binge-watched anything as much as I have watched you two.

I like the guys but definitaly lost respect for them when I learned this is how they make their money. Even more unsavory is the short term/Airbnb stuff.... Why are you so concerned with the enviorment/coal burning and future generations, when you are involved in an arguably worse business that affects so many canadians today? in this video, they are even promoting starting Airbnbs as more and more first time buyers can no longer afford to live here .. Yikes.

@Mike M "supplies housing" by taking away homes off the market from people that need them so you can create Airbnbs.... Ok buddy. They are not building affordable houses .. They are buying these houses to use them as investments.. Taking cheap homes and "flipping" them for higher prices.
This is the only vlog I actually go out of my way to watch every week, a regular dollop of sunny Canadian cheerfulness even in the dullest, greyest winter months.
Usually watch with my husband Stefan but unfortunately he has been in hospital for the past six weeks following major heart surgery, so you guys have been an even bigger comfort than usual. He's due out in another couple of weeks, so we're hoping for a really special Christmas together this year. Oh, and he plans to binge watch all the episodes he missed!

The way you two cut each other off and handle it seamlessly is indicative of a strong relationship of two people who have grown together and think alike. I'm envious....as it's so rare, gay or straight. As for your income, it's nobody's business but your own. I've watched you for a while and I had the impression from early on that you were self made. BTW - yes, you do have viewers from all over. I'm a Canadian that migrated all the way down to Houston, TX. Always look forward to the next project, living vicariously through the both of you as I sip my coffee in my home office thankful I'm here as I'm just too lazy at this stage in my life to do what you're doing. You two should be very proud of what you’ve accomplished so far. In the 6 months I’ve been involved in some of your projects you’ve always researched, planned and executed pretty well.
I can also vouch for you two being the farthest thing from “given” anything. You’ve worked hard to get here, you deserve the success.
Also Todd’s family likely knows more about sustainability when it comes to forestry, then any subscriber realize. Like you said, people are only seeing little parts of the actual project.

My husband is gone, but I feel him in the air around me. I've discovered the love we shared didn't die w/him, it juz evolved, and it's still super sweet. This was fun to watch. I think the idea of staying in the RV for the winter is a great, comfortable idea. Spring is a great time for new ideas and renewal.

I spent 3 months traveling through Canada and fell in love with it. In fact, found a home to rent for the next year, but of course the big “C” took that away from us. I just love you two. I have been so depressed for obvious reason, but when I watch you on UA-cam I laught the hole time. I am a 73 old women who lost my husband 12 years ago this Dec and my youngest son disowned me and he has a son which is my only grandson whom I haven't seen since he was 10 months old and now he us 4 years old. I also have a older son who does his best to see me because we live 3 hours away, so we try to me half way for brunch every two weeks which is great, so enough of my crying, so I look forward to watching you both.

Awesome! You all are great! I wish we had started a way in the woods when we were young. We live two miles from the road and are surrounded by 50,000 acres of pines. It's a small "subdivision" with around 40 lots. Most are empty, a few RVs and ten of us live back here full time. We have 3 acres that sadly were mostly cleared by the last owner. We have replanted a few small pines and I continue to do that and I'm trying to grow some from the cones. But we are in our 70s so it's much slower going and we are on social security. I love watching your life grow. Every week I look for Charlie first then I can relax and enjoy your video.

Hope Charlie is doing better in his recuperation. I truly understand how you felt when he first got sick. My daughter just recently lost her terrier. When she got him, she really didn’t know how old he was. She had him for about 8 or nine years. According to the vet, he was 11 or twelve. He had glaucoma and was losing his hearing. My husband and I used to watch him for her when she traveled. He was the sweetest little boy. The worst part of it was she watched him die. But it was a good thing she was home. He didn’t die alone. I have a few things at my house for him, like a bed, some toys and a dog bowl set. Every time I see these things, I miss him terribly.

These past 2 years have been filled with so much anxiety and uncertainty. It's nice to have your posts to look forward to. I hope you guys are all right after last nights wind and rain storm. I live near the Armdale in a high rise and I could hear the wind thru the air ducts. Hopefully the trees protected you from the elements. Quite a lightning show....I was thinking of you guys....Your furry kids must not have enjoyed the fireworks. Sorry to hear you've been under the weather. Hope by the time you read this you're feeling better Tyler. I think one thing that's very evident in your relationship is love and a sense of humour. You have that laughter together that makes a huge difference. You are so good together. You've accomplished so much so far in your young lives and you should be proud. I also like that you don't disparage other types of relationships. I do hope this next week goes smoothly and can't wait to see more of the Dome project. I would never think of asking a friend or an acquaintance or anyone else how much money they make. As for the other channels who speculate on how anyone makes their living, I have NO INTEREST in that gossip. I don’t click on those videos. I watch your videos purely for the joy of watching you live your life while you build your dream. (And, you both always make me laugh) Get better soon.
