Usually, if I have to do a presentation or something, I just say, "Screw it." Force myself into it and appreciate the calmness after the sudden heart attack and seizures from the anxity.

It's really just about bringing your focus away from the thing stressing you. When my therapist first told me about this taste was the one for me. I mentioned in my depression most things just kinda taste like nothing and just feel like wetish cement in my mouth. So just do the ones you can and then she recommended doing the 3 things you are grateful for at the end. Always good to try to end on a high note. 👍

Anti depressants actually up the heart rate, making you feel more anxious or at worst overwhelmed. They are not for anixety, those are a whole separate deal of medication. These grounding techniques actually work for a wide range of symptoms and do not require a doctor's appointment, paying for (which some can't do) prescriptions, getting to the pharmacy, (which if it's social anxiety you might just need these options just to get through that part of getting the prescription), and can be done immediately. So in case you're meds aren't working (considering how long it can take for some people to find the right chemical medication if at all) or you just don't happen to have it on you.
If medication has helped you that is wonderful but overall they still only help some symptoms. You will continually be dependent on meds to just "take the edge off" rather than actually solving the issue that is causing the problem. Medication only helps you along the road of mental health, it isn't the final stop. Therapy may seem inconvenient or embarrassing, but it really is a crucial step and can never be just replaced by a pill.

I can't do these things because I'm already overwhelmed but do these things in a different way, one close my eyes and focus on one sense then two then three then open my eyes, second I focus on the breath coming from my nose, don't try to change it. Finally I write whatever I want no need tos or feelings

For me, writing something down on a paper, journal, book or anything helps bring out the stress or anxiety I had. Honestly I just write down how I feel and how everything happened and than bam, I feel much better :D

Or you can go to sleep early. your brain needs time to recharge, 8 hours or longer in bed and you should feel a bit better the next day.
Take it from a guy who gets 3 hours of sleep every night and overdoses on coffee just so he can feel basic human emotions
