    Bought one of these a little over 2 years ago after watching your review. I have used it everyday since with no problems. I am using it as a freezer and it actually stores quite a bit of food for us. The smart phone app comes in handy to check how things are going at anytime. Mine came with the insulated cover. I highly recommend this unit to anyone, and thanks for your honest review.

      I got mine about 7 months ago and been running straight since then. Only thing that sucks is that dc adapter as it pops out by from a slight bump. It pops out easily. I bought a 3rd party one from Amazon that also work with dometic It's 10 times better. Other than that it's been performing flawlessly

    That's groovy intro music. I could listen to that jam. I got the JP42 Pro and am loving it and it has done GREAT after two bumpy days in 100-110 degrees. Ice cold or colder off the cigarette lighter (good auxiliary power ports) in a 2004 Tundra double cab, with the cooler in the back, seats folded up. I LOVE the roto-molded design. Best hinges and latches and body construction available for certain uses in my opinion. The JP42 Pro will be my main fridge in a small dwelling and the main fridge for longer road trips. (Thanks for your in-depth reviews as this helped me decide on the JP42 Pro.) ..... So .. it is a little too large to carry into and out of the truck 4-6 times on a busy weekend of leisure etc, so I wanted a smaller one and think ICECO and the SECOP compressor are the best value and even the top performer in many ways. (I'll get expensive Engels later on when the money is large again .. or maybe I will just stick with ICECO.) .. So I ordered the GO20. Again, thanks to info from you and others. I think it will get a lot of use as the GO20 looks like the perfect size for how often I want to carry it around and for the drink/food requirements of just a single person. I will bring it with me on one or both days on most weekends as I usually head out somewhere relaxing for a break. It is so great to have ICE-COLD drinks (just above freezing) and now I am bringing the makings of healthy sandwiches and salads, veggies and fruit with me. Before it used to be almost always fast food since it is really hard to find anything else. But grocery stores often have good Delis so it is pretty easy to get healthy/delicious sandwiches made and keep them fresh and perfect for days if necessary in a 12 volt fridge. These units can really enhance your life in many ways and are worth the money. ICECO is by far the top value for the money based on my rather extensive research and now some personal experience. Also, ICECO Customer Service is top notch.

    Thanks for doing this review....we took our tiny teardrop camping this weekend and I had waterlogged watermelon among other things and I have been thinking about this brand and another one that I had seen on Amazon. Your review sold it for me. I bought a really large Lifetime cooler which we haven't used due to size and I will be getting rid of soon....this is perfect, just given the size of our type of campers! I just got a great deal on the ICECO website, so pretty happy! Thanks again!

    Nice review video Charles. Since I did not need a freezer function, I am using an Aplicool C16 that fits well in my Runaway Cool Camp and its compressor likes my deep cycle battery and ground mount solar system. The ICECO with its larger size and dual zone system is a plus for the premium of that system over a single zone fridge. Mark H, Electrical Engineer and Landsailor!

    The thought of having to tape up the 12V connection is really rinky dink. I have not heard of other maker’s products with this issue but there have been purchasers of this unit with this problem. I Iceco needs to correct this issue.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  4 роки тому +1

      Every 12v device I have tends to get loose. Every. Single. One. I had another 12v fridge that had that issue - it is actually very common. They (all manufacturers) need to give up this antiquated way of connecting. Maybe go with an XT60 or something else.

    We will be on a boat and want this to make ice. So if I put several 10 oz plastic containers of water into this, would it be able to freeze the water? I've read reviews that it has a hard time maintaining 0 degrees. I don't know, maybe ice will no problems at 5-10 degrees.

    How do these portable car camping refrigerators work putting them outside during the day when it's hot in the car or leaving them outside at night when it's cool and they wouldn't require much energy?

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  4 роки тому

      You would just want them in as much shade as possible. Obviously, the hotter they get the more the compressor will have to work. Outside at night - no issues.

  • @fiveangle
    @fiveangle 4 роки тому

    Sounds like the app doesn’t have the capability to send you an alert notifications ? It would be infinitely more useful if it could send notifications for:
    •when the temperature moves outside of a user-specified range
    •when the 12V input voltage drops below the specified low dropout
    •when the BT device goes out of range (eg when it stops responding)
    Also, when you set it in fast cool mode, does it automatically return to normal eco mode once it’s attained the correct temp or do you also have to manually turn it back to eco ?

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  4 роки тому +1

      That would be a great improvement for the app, yes. I don't know the answer too your eco/fast cooling question. Once it gets to the desired temp, it would not keep fast cooling though. I never use the fast cooling because I plug it in the night before we leave so it is ready to load and go the day of the trip departure.

    Thanks for the great review! I recently purchased the Iceco VL45 and Jackery 1000 explorer. I already have some renogy solar panels, but purchased two 100 watt Jackery panels because I like that they fold up for space saving. I really went back and forth between the GO20 and the VL45. Since I often travel with the grandchildren or friends I decided to go with the larger VL45, but it won't surprise me if I add the GO20 to my stash at some point soon. Iceco is such a great product and I'm so pleased that I did a lot of research before making a decision.

      We really like our GO20, but it is a wee bit small for longer trips. We are doing a Ford Transit van conversion right now. ICECO is one of my corporate partners and they supplied us with a VL60D - much larger and built like a tank. You can see the van build series here on my channel. We are going with Ecoflow lithiums units with this build (another corporate partner) using 2 Delta 1300s, a River 600 Max and a R600 Pro with the extra EF 1500 battery. I've also purchased a Ford Transit Cargo Van (I'm putting together a rig that serve half camper half cargo van for my musical endeavors) and purchased a couple of ICECO GO20s to ultimately use as a Refrigerator and Freezer respectively.
      Since I only have a 500W Jackery with the folding 100W Solar Panel, initially I'm only going to run one of the ICECO units until I get a better House Power unit going.
      I'm in the process of moving and had my ICECO delivery to a friend's house. I plugged the Unit in at his house on the 120VAC Power Brick about a day ago. My thought was put the entire unit (divider in place) to 0c (I've also not figured how to run the Unit's menu system, for things like Celsius to Fahrenheit, adjusting power consumption) and he texted me that a Circuit Breaker in his house had tripped.
      I had planned to get the Unit as cold as possible and head back there sooner and retrieve the unit.
      I had the Power Brick plugged in to a 10' Two Conductor "Lamp Style" extension cord in his garage that looked like it fed into a light circuit.
      Hopefully I didn't damage the Compressor or something like that.
      Years ago my mother got a used Kenmore residential Refrigerator (standard 120VAC) and Killed it by running it on a Long Extension Cord. Hopefully I didn't put my unit through a similar situation.

    Enjoyable review. I order a Go 20 unit from the ICECO site direct.
    Do you have contact information ICECO direct?
    Unit was received, DOA, would not powerup.

      I do not have any special access - I do not work for them. Try messaging them on their FaceBook page. I have found many companies respond better that way.

    The only negative about this product, and all Iceco refrigerators, is the cheesy Chinese spyware application that goes with it. Why can't Iceco produce a genuine American phone application for their refrigerators like Dometic does? Iceco, are you listening? Why does it need your location to run the application?

      No - do a search of other GO20 video reviews and see if they have any. Sorry.

      I have seen flash sales on Amazon for $399 - you never know when they will do that.
