This is how video game trailers should always be! Showing us real gameplay footage, not like how most companies beautify their footage just for the trailer. This game doesn't look graphically impressive really, standard fromsoft graphics and the pvp has some lag in the footage too, but the sheer creativity of the enemies, fun looking gameplay, weird storylines and cool ass landscapes is what truly excites me about this game. So pumped for January!
Artstyle > visual fidelity It may not be “Impressive” in terms of texture and life-like detail, but the sheer artstyle and creative designs outmatch any games pretty graphics. That is the most impressive.
The mount, story and general setting give me Mononoke vibes. A traveler from a distant land, heir of an ancient, fading race and "tarnished" by a curse, must journey westward to see with eyes unclouded. The Ghibli references started in earnest with Sekiro and look to continue here. As for the aesthetic and locales, heavy, heavy influence can be seen from Berserk's Falcon of the Millenium Arc, with Yigdrassil and the Golem's Mobile Fortress being particular standouts. The boss featured in the debut trailer and who closes out the worldwide reveal seems like a continuation of the tradition of Seath the Scaleless, Lord Aldia and Eldritch. His acoutrements (the golden axe of the paladin, his host of arms and automata, and his bearing of the severed dragon's head, a legacy of the archdrake sect and the sorcerers of Aldia) suggest some connection to the more ancient aspects of the souls-borne lore. Great designs all around. Hype is immeasurable.
I hope the lore is similar to the one in Dark Souls, specifically the way you learn about it through item description, character design, area design, general plot and other small details. That was one of the driving factors for me to replay the Souls series multiple times, and it made good lore videos to watch on UA-cam.
@@amazoner0cks one of the big punchy sound effects is a sword clashing with the player's shield. It's definitely way more dark souls than bloodborne, but there are definitely bloodborne vibes with the atmosphere going on.

Now you can play Dark Souls with 4 Coop it appears... That looked awsome , damn the hidden underground passages and Enemies looks really Versatile ( The fact you have a Mount makes it so that its Open World and it has a Pvp ). But that is confirmed already aswell.... The 4K 60fps footage looked insane on the PC aswell 💯
So many weapons shown as well: swords, greatswords, shields, whips, spears, claws, bows, curved swords (dual wielded...), giant 2-handed hammer, not to mention all the magic
This dropped on my 27th Birthday... Nice , plus i saw that slick Wolf Greatsword Art from Dark Souls 3 ( I liked they brought it back... Miyazaki's a legend ). This game is gonna go crazy already i can already feel there are more or upto 7 Classes and styles to play. Plus the 1st player looks like Young Gwin the 1st fire actually... I didn't watch the trailer, going into these games as blind as possible is the best way. Their trailers always show all the bosses and such which takes away from the exploration and mystery imo. I did however catch very brief glimpses because I had to feed my curiosity and those few seconds I saw looked fucking amazing. Best way to play these games is not knowing anything and discovering all by yourself. A From Software game on release is a special thing I don't want to ruin. That feeling only comes around once every 2-3 years.
Dist those are not player summons. The Horse summoning spell effect, the effect when you summon those blue NPCs(different walking animations and proportions) and a bird in a screenshot on the website, are all the same. I have a feeling this is some sort of "spirit" or "summon" magic that's like in the mods.

At least FromSoftware know when to sacrifice realism for better gameplay. The mounted combat is clearly very arcadish and it's what lacked in many other games so I bet it's going to be pretty good

Just after it shows the big jump up the cliff, it cuts to him jumping off the horse and it just vanishes beneath him. Thank god From Software realises how tedious mounting and dismounting a horse is in most games.

With that said you are correct that this series has had a good record of releases but that's not to say we should get too absorbed from the hype and set unrealistic expectations for ourselves.
I can't remember the last time all my unrealistic expectations have been furfilled this perfectly. Now just give me some online mode and I'm 100% happy.

I'm a big fan but I wonder when this formula will become burnt out. We have 4 Souls games, bloodborne and sekiro (the latter being the most different). Elden Ring looks very similar to this "old" formula. Consiering "souls-likes" are actually their own genre this might be and probably will be huge and refreshing and a blast for me as a fan but I have to say that I expected something that looks more different, stranger, newer. But I am aware that I am perhaps the only one thinking this way.
My theory is that their will be main bosses maybe four of five out of 25 or 30, and the main bosses will each drop a part of the elden ring where you will have to give it to the blacksmith that first destroyed it to reforge it. Then you fight the final boss with ring perhaps the king or some betrayer and you will have the choice to reforge the ring or destroy it for good. Just a theory though don't hate on me plz.
