- Eaglemania plays the Tally Ho in Leesburg, Virginia and Ram's Head On Stage in Annapolis, MD. While the flights were not challenged from a weather perspective, the usual intricacies of maneuvering in a busy Class B were in full form. Multiple STAR's, a really short leg (which in some ways is the most challenging), and my favorite, the 'descend via'. Some icing to plan around on a couple of the legs.
Also a trip to O Mansion, one of the most unusual locations in Washington, DC where Smokehouse Pilot Adi Karasik gave us a VIP tour. If you have any interest in music, movies, popular culture, O Mansion is definitely worth the stop.

Really enjoy these videos documenting General Aviation as a business tool and the real world planning / decision making process. My pre-flight planning has improved as a result, Thank you!
Music to my ears!!! THANK YOU!
We really enjoyed meeting you after the Saturday night show. Thanks for the Birthday shout out. She had no idea it was a surprise birthday party until her friends randomly started showing up. :-)
Thats great!!! So glad it worked out and yes, a pleasure meeting you as well. Stay safe!!!
Another great one, thanks for sharing.
I’m now using the windy app on your recommendation. The best app out there for weather I’d say. Thanks for these very informative and entertaining videos. The next vid looks like a good one. Looking forward to it!
Thank you! Yeah - the next one is killer. PLease stay safe!
Thanks for your video. I was wondering if you might highlight Skew-T charts in subsequent videos. I would be interested in your evaluation of their utility. Cheers.
I have in the past. Check out some of the other videos on the channel - weather analysis is very much emphasized. I go through a skew-T analysis on episode nine.
Right on. I know what I’m doing for the next half hour!
Interesting content, well edited and informative. Thanks for putting these vids out!
You're welcome! Glad you are enjoying these!
How do you get your band gear to the venues...do the other members deliver? Very cool channel ..thanks for putting the effort into making so good!
The band has a trailer that carries all the gear that one of the members drives to shows. We have a crew of three who take care of set up/breakdown. So glad you enjoy the channel. More to come (for now...).
Finally someone that doesnt talk about the rona
You take your hands off the throttle at rotation, unusual for single engine. Why?
Great question. In that airplane, once you commit to going it takes both hands to authoritatively lift the nose to rotate at 85kts.
NY Approach controllers are the best
The ABSOLUTE best. (Actually, they all are. But NY controllers are particularly good).
@@lifeinthefl94 You know the one guy that sounds like he should be sitting there with a cigar in one hand and a tumbler of bourbon in the other? He helped me out BIG time when I was trying to get into MMU in a PC-12, VFR, with a bunch of storms around. I hope he isn't retiring any time soon.
@@soflaav8r Lol - I know EXACTLY who you are talking about. How about the guy the who sounds like Dennis Miller?
@@lifeinthefl94 Yep I know that voice too!
Silly question, Jon. What is the journal / notebook you use in flight?
That's just like a scratch pad where I write down the ATIS and the clearance and anything else that comes up. Each page represents a different flight so I can go back and look at clearances and re-routes when I am going somewhere that I have been to before. Its like an IFR diary.
@@lifeinthefl94 I do almost the same,. But what 'm actually interested in is the notebook itself. The page marker and how nicely it lies flat. Moleskine? Stilllman? Walmart :)?
@@midlifeflyer Staples!! If I can remember, Ill take a snap of it when Im out there next
