Hey Megan, just saw your video “My Korean story” and I felt I wanted to share a word with you. This is one of the very least videos that I feel, I can relate to so much. My story to Korea was not painful as yours, and I am sorry to hear that. But I can sense the love that you have for this place now and it sounds so similar to mine. I came to Korea in 2017 for an exchange program. I was there 5 months. Literally the 5 most beautiful months of my life. I also knew nothing about Korea. But I fell in love with the place instantly. When I went to Korea, I was in search of myself, because I was tired of life. No sort of entertainment or relationship was fulfilling any more. In Korea is where I became a Christian and trusted on my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I was reborn spiritually in that place. So my entire transformation of finding peace, love and meaning happened in Korea. This made me feel closer to this country. I came back to Europe 5 months after. It’s been almost 7 years since then and no single day passes by without thinking of Korea. No single day passes by without talking about Korea. If not getting married and having a family in Netherlands, I was also thinking to move there. We are planning to visit Korea again with my husband in 2024, so started looking at some UA-cam videos to see what has changed since 2017, and that is how I came up to your channel. I normally don’t comment or subscribe on many channels on UA-cam, I just watch and go. But I find yours soooo sooo nice. Very Genuine, informative and interesting. I am happy you found happiness there. Sorry for the so long comment. Hopefully we might see you somewhere in Seoul in the future. Keep going. God bless you.

If I am single, I would totally move to South Korea like you. So jealous! But I did move to US from Philippines alone.
I will be in Seoul for a month and have nobody to eat BBQ with lol. I watched your video about going alone and I was like...well, how am I going to be able to experience the real authentic Korean BBQ?
I need a new friend! I live in Northern CA, working, a mom of 1, happily married and have no one to have lunch/dinner in Seoul lol.
Anyone who wants to meet? mid March 2023 to April 2023

Hello Megan, I'm Korean who subscribed today. No matter how good a person goes to a good place, misunderstandings can occur during life and it can be uncomfortable. Please explain in detail the shortcomings of living in Korea. Many foreigners come to Korea with high expectations, but I think the disappointment will be as great as those expectations.

Finally had a chance to watch this~ Amazing and raw story. Thank you for sharing your journey! It really encourages me to see and follow how God moves in my life. Even in all the circumstances that I see as failures, roadblocks, and forced choices that I didn't make, God is using intentionally as preparation for His purposes.

Amen AMEN... and when you see part 2 (just uploaded) and the final part... you're gonna go CRAZY because God is really out here answering prayers left and right in ways I never anticipated! Keep your eyes on Him - He never said it would be easy but it's the only place worth looking.

Ur story of clinging onto whatever can bring u comfort when ur in darkness really resonated with me. During the pandemic i started to question a lot of things. Did i really enjoy where I was at in life? Was the uni im in really right for me? What am I gonna do with me life? Just a lot of things but Id clung onto everything that was Red Velvet. I watched all their variety shows, performances, music videos basically anything and everything Red Velvet. But ya so when u mentioned Got 7 and kdramas etc i was like woah. Anyways its the reason I went to korea and am still learning the language bc it really is such a beautiful language. I can still remember when the alphabet and reading it clicked for me and i was so siked. Great vid!

Something about KPop... it can be so easy to get lost in. It's nice to have an escape like that but at the same time it didn't provide answers for me in life... so I still felt a hole in my heart - ya know?
I just uploaded the second part and I'd be curious to know your thoughts there as well. Just said a prayer for you friend! Hope your language learning is going well~

Hi Megan. I enjoy your vids! New sub.
It really seems like God took you out of China right before the pandemic although it was heartbreaking for you at the time.
China under covid zero is not where a person would want to be. Even many Foreigners and I'm sure many Chinese wanted to move out. Hopefully covid goes away asap for their sakes.

I watch Korean K Drama, the music and watch videos of place in South Korea ( like you said, try to block out life. I am on the computer trying to be out of reach) , food..... It is great that you are living there and being happy. I have given myself a goal, try to get to South Korea in 2 years. I don;t have the money, or speak Korean. How I am I going to get the money, maybe play lottery??? My family and friends don't understand. Plus I am 61 and I would love to do this before I can not... Thank you again.

He is a Brit who was living in China since he was 15 yrs old due to his father's job, so he went to an American school in China where he made a lot of Korean friends at that high school. Then, he majored in Korean language at his British university, married a Korean woman, etc. That's very different from Megan's situation.

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, & languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, &STRIPES we are HEALED."
God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

I once was the one on the other side of the screen. Crazy to think I live here now and a day doesn't go by where I don't see how much of a blessing this is... but man it isn't always easy. I'll keep sharing the highs and the lows for sure!

Thank you so much for opening up to us viewers. It's lovely to know that you were able to rebound and enjoy yourself now! I just came back from my first trip to South Korea and really loved it so much I am planning to study Korean even harder now and hopefully get a job in Seoul on day~!
Edit: Keep up the great videos Megan!! Hopefully I'm able to attend a future online event! Was busy with work so I had to give the previous event a pass :(

I sadly couldn't many details about the past but you're so right. It's so powerful to see where I was and where I am now ❤️
I think part two of this mini series will be even more powerful so I hope you enjoy that as well!
Hopefully you can attend an event in the future because the meet-ups are my absolute favorite 😭❤️
      Much love friend~ ✨
