I have tried blood sausage! I don't know what it is; but as soon as I stick it in my mouth...I gag...lol so sadly, that dish is a no for me. Which night market did you go to? Not sure if I remember seeing it being mentioned in the video lol. I'll be staying in Hongdae this October!
The 어묵 fish cake is actually really high in protein. Like 10grams per serving. And super cheap. A dollar per package in most supermarkets. A great way to healthy-up some ramen. ✌ plus, the free broth is great on cold winter nights when youre darting between clubs and bars. 😄
It was fun watching this, Megan! I always enjoy seeing people eat good food. Hope to head out and grab some street food soon, myself 💗🍜 (I recently made it out to Gangnam-gu [around Yanjae station], but it's been REALLY cold [and a bit snowy lol], so I haven't been able to go to any street vendors, or even stop at any markets to grab cooking ingredients XD GS25 and 7-Eleven are my best friends rn lol ) Love your videos btw! They were a great help to me when I was planning my stay for Korea 🙌
The temperature really is no joke 😭 I literally go to 7-11 just to get hot coffees so I can hold them like hand-warmers (plus the added bonus of warming my insides as well hehehe) But I’m so glad you’ve found my videos helpful ☺️❤️✨ More to come! Stay warm~~
I found your channel and I have enjoyed watching your videos. I am going to start planning a trip to SK soon but want to try and at least learn some Korean first. I actually am thinking of possibly doing a solo trip 😬 and was hoping you could give tips on how to meet people to hang out with while there. Thanks for the great content.
I am going in three weeks for my holidays, and I've learned to read and write in korean (I read veeery slowly, but I do..) I am learning some vocabulary as well, but i am afraid I will be scared to order street food.. But everything looks soo delicious, and I love to try every local food wherever I go..I'll do my best, I hope they understand me. I guess I can point to whatever I want and say how many of these I want with my fingers :S. And I am a solo traveler so no one could ask for me.....
Girl! I’ve been looking for your Instagram to reach out! Maybe I’m blind… it’s hard for me to search on my end. Do you have an email or anything? Please email me MeganOsten@yahoo.com!! ❤️✨
Thank you for sharing. Good to now you pay at the end 😊 After finishing your food, do you just leave your plate, skewer, cup etc on the table or give it back to the seller or is there a trash bin?
It took me quite a while to like 손대 but I am definitely good with it now. Proud of you for at least trying it. I cant believe you tried and liked the 우묵! 우묵 is litterally my favorite. Well that and 호떡 lol
can't belive it was ur first time. i thought u ate almost every korean street food long time ago already. the food at 3:13 is pronounced so-dduck btw. "so" is from the korean pronaunciation of sausage. "dduck" from dduck-bok-gi
Thanks for the help! The double constants are very difficult for me to pronounce so I get too nervous to have a recording on it on the internet 😜😭 But thank you again!!
Hello~ when you pay with card, do you use your own home country card? I'm going Korea in two weeks and have been bingeing your videos ahahaha its very helpful thank you
Have you been to Mangwon Market? Should if you havent and try all the different street food and maybe stop by a Makgoelli bar while you eat some jun :)
안녕 I’m planning to go to Korea this May and your video is literally save my life and money! Thank you for sharing and btw what camera did you use I mean I love it!! 😂
Oh my god you have the same vibe as me when it comes to food, I've been watching what to do for my trip when I come and everyone keeps going on about the street food and all I'm thinking is ... nope... wouldn't touch that.... nope... don't like the sound of that... nope... don't eat that... hahaha
Incredible vlog Megan, those foods look really good and tasty especially the sugar coated hot dog and the pancake with a cinnamon and nut filling. Also the woman talking to you is just random. By the way, I have never tried a blood sausage before.
This is hilarious because I always just ask for the broth and not the fish at this stand near my apartment. I thought I was being weird for doing that. However, I love their rice cakes with the sweet-spicy sauce. It's a hard pass on that sausage.
FYI: So you don't have a hard time converting USD to Won, try to always think 1,000 KWN to 1 USD, I know now as I am writing this is almost 1,307 WON to 1 USD, just do the easy way, life is easy, don't make it hard for yourself. Regarding the food you want to try, always order a little for each variety so you can try a lot of different food especially if you are with someone, share it with your friend so you guys can try more.
Learn how to read and speak in Korean! Especially learning to read is really easy! How could you expect to live in Korea and not know hardly any Korean!
For years I paid triple at this place for korean pancakes in itaewon until someone said I was getting robbed. I didn't care because the won to dollar exchange rate was really good in favor of the dollar. The IMF years.
What do you recommend to use as a foreigner instead of your regular US debit card and then having to deal with international exchange fees? (when you don’t want to use cash (won))
This is the debit card I’ve been using for years. No international transaction fees (you’ll be reimbursed for all fees you paid at ATMS at the end of the month). I’ve always loved this card! Hope that helps! www.schwab.com/client-referral?refrid=REFERQETKYMMX
"...if it was intestine" LOL. You have to get daechang and makchang BBQ, even though they're intestines they're fatty goodness. You'd probably barf with gobchang and don't ask me what's inside.
Share your favorite street foods below~
What do I need to try next!?
Also, have you guys tried blood sausage before!? 😜
빈대떡 @ 광장시장
씨앗호떡 @ 부산
호두과장 @ 천안
떡볶이 @ 신당동
닭갈비 @ 춘천
부대찌게 @ 의정부
조개구이 @ 제부도, 대부도

Wow! All of the protein! Good to know 😁
I live for the soup to just survive the winter hahaha
This video is so helpful, I’m gonna memorize all the ordering vocab 😆 thanks for the video!
I'm so glad you found this video helpful!! 🥰
This was so helpful, especially the vocab as I figure out how to eat solo.
We are headed to Seoul in September. Thanks so much. A bit nervous to go to the street vendors but this really helped.
지금 미국에서 살고 있는 한국인인데, 한국 길거리 음식이 너무 그립네요. 노량진에서 길거리에서 먹었던 컵밥도 생각납니다. Thank you for your video.
I am happy you enjoyed the video ❤️

Megan - we watched this again and think Peter and you should do another video - if he’s available! Nice work!
He moved away! But maybe one day~ 🤪
I have the same fears! It looks delicious but too scared to order! But I will fight my fears (or anyone actually) for 호떡!! 🤣
Amen to that 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I'm looking forward to being overwhelmed in Myeongdong for all of that street food. 😳
Sadly, Myeongdong is kind of dead now 🥺😔 but plenty of other great options! People often recommend Mangwon Market~
@@MeganOsten Nnnnooooo!!!! 🥺
I know… it’s really sad….
Okay, I'm FASCINATED by that sweet pastry-covered hot dog! 😍 Does it taste like an American hot dog surrounded by a sugared croissant? (I hope!)
Hahaha kinda yeah! Very delicious 🤤

@@MeganOsten I'm glad to hear that and I might try blood sausage one day.
is it possible to ask for a takeaway instead of eating at the store/nearby? (eg having a proper container/ plastic bag to bring it back to the hotel)
Yes yes yes! ☺️ You can just say, “포장해 주세요” at the end~
Thanks for the useful tip. Really great content 😆
I want to eat mandu 🥟 now! 😋

I’m from many towns! But not Nebraska, though I’m sure it’s great there too.
I truly hope you’re doing ok Robert… I just said a prayer for you.
So how much weight did you gain from eating EVERYTHING with tons of sugar in it? LOL
