Renovated 11th C fortress-chateau for sale

This medieval fortress chateau dates back to the 11th-15th centuries and is listed as a historic monument; it is thought to be one of the last few remaining examples of 11th century military architecture. It has hosted various royalty over the years as well as other equally illustrious visitors. The fortress has been sympathetically renovated, with all work approved by the UDAP (Architects de Batiments de France) and work completed by an expert. Many original features remain, including the grand, white-stone walk in fireplaces, a 12th century vaulted chapel, the original prison cells as well as three lookout towers which overlook the local church and medieval village.
