Had to go with my granddad to a car mechanic when i was a kid in Denmark. Took forever so I went outside to skate on my beat up Flip deck in the parking lot, and the mechanic eventually comes outside and i was expecting the usual "you cant skate here" routine. Turns out the mechanic was Rune’s dad, and he had just called Rune to go down to the workshop to gift me a new Flip deck and a signed t-shirt. Still got the shirt too. Best memory ever.
Jon Allie sent me an autographed Slave pro deck for my 16th bday to Slovakia and a Zero poster of that gnarly noseblunt slide he did on that high school rail. Myspace days.
@@MRblazedBEANSi just played THUG and you could load your specific special moves which was cool… also once you got really good at combos became a crazy multiplier. I was way WAY better at grinding and manuals than I was at vert tricks, so I loaded up on the grinds and manuals specials

The video clips in the game and summer X-games were the only thing we knew of skate culture and the game introduced us to tricks we didn't even know existed. Imagine trying to learn tricks from doing them over and over in a video game and figuring out how they worked? We weren't very good but we skated from sun up to sun down and played THPS all night. A neighbor acquired a copy of 411 VM from an older cousin and it was MIND BLOWING, particularly seeing skateboarding and its personalities and antics outside of the x-games broadcast.

Pigpen was so sick in thrasher game!! Controls weren't as good as thps but still a skate game so its gonna get ran.
Rodney was the most consistent character for doing his specials on his board. Bam was the most consistent for doing his specials off his board
