- AUGUST 2020 --- In this video I will be (1) UNBOXING a *sold* 4th (Kawung, 2019?) edition to check whether this is indeed the 4th edition, since they are packaged using the boxes printed for the 3rd edition, and (2) COMPARING "The Fool" and "The Devil" from all three editions (COMPARISON starts at MIN 5:30). For a flip through of ALL the images on the cards, and / or reviews, and walkthroughs, PLEASE GO TO MY OTHER VIDEOS as linked during and at the end of this video.
First Edition: 2009 (?)
Second (?)
Third (Truntum): 2016 (?)
Fourth (Kawung): 2019 (?)
DIFFERENCES DISCUSSED:
(1) Lamination
(2) Layout
(3) Designs of back of cards
(4) Printing hues
(5) Packaging
(These points of differences are applicable to all 78 cards across the above editions. Since images are all the same in all four editions --- so technically they are not editions but print runs, if we want to accurate about it --- there is no point repeating myself 78 times, saying the same things about all 78 cards....)
NOTE: I forgot to point out the change of font in the 4th edition (Kawung).
As of today, August 2020, the Kawung (4th) edition is their latest.

Review and walkthroughs of the 3rd edition (truntum) and 4th edition (kawung) will be done in two separate future videos.
Note: I obtained my first edition pre-loved and cards with bag only. My speculations of how the first edition was originally packaged is just that: Speculations.

This has been on my radar since Artistry of Tarot showed this a few weeks ago. The cardstock really doesn't seem like it'll endear itself to me (I'm glad that the 4th edition is matte at least phew). I really really want to support Southeast Asian tarot creators and this is the first one I've seen so far that I'm drawn to. I've a lot to think about T_T I appreciate you talking about their translations of the original Tarot names*
BoyDiviner Ah I wish I had known you are looking for one. I had four copies to sell (Yes, all personal “back up” copies. Since this is the ONLY Indonesian and Javanese 78 cards tarot in the world!) I just sold the last of them. I reviewed the first edition I think but I have some additional thoughts throughout the years and might review the 3rd edition (Truntum). I will also ask the current sales agent on Etsy if Mr. Hisyam A. Fachri plans on reprinting. (I have been told that he has always been anxious about piracy by printers and this is one of the reasons why he has always been reluctant to reprint).

A kind viewer of mine showed me that it’s still available in Indonesia I just need to ask the shop if they ship to Singapore Hahahaha but I don’t know if I want to pull the trigger right now since I’ve so many new decks to work with! I did have a copy some years ago, purchased from Indonesia, and the backs were not like any of the backs of the decks you have shown here. I gave the deck away, though, because the cardstock and printing were SO poor. Also, the book I received had a plastic comb binding. In hindsight, I had probably purchased a pirated copy. The creator's fears are not unwarranted!
Raf Yikes! I wish I could examine that further. Either pirated, or prototype! In which case I suppose it **could** be super collectible.....? 😅 Thanks for sharing that!
Nobody Here 2020 Highly doubt that it was a prototype since the production values were so bad 😅 By the way, I totally agree that some of the titles can be better. Bumi really should be Dunia. Thanks for sharing your decks!
