LIKE my 2 pack for $22. Cannot be programed w/o software, computer, & a programming cable. Does not have a channel lock. It's narrow band, not wide. PERFECT for simple uses: Road trips w/ friends, kids at camp, warehouse... At that price no tears if lost, stolen or destroyed.
I no longer have that radio set, but I remember it took me a while to het it to work! I just don’t remember what it was. I know you have to be on a certain channel when you turn it on. It is vague in the manual, but it does work.
Hold the channel down button while turning the radio on. Keep holding the channel down until you here weather then let up on the button. It will take a few seconds of holding down the button after turning it on to receive the weather. You can use channel up and down to go through 1-10 weather channels. You will probably only get one but may be lucky to receive two. To get out of the weather channels press PTT button once and your back to GMRS channels. I know I'm late but hope this helps!
The MP31 has a removal antenna. FRS radios have to have a fixed antenna. I agree with you that you can easily go undetected if you simply claim you have a Retevis RT628 FRS radio. How will anyone know you have a GMRS radio as long as you stay off the repeaters?

I just got them. These are doing the job for me.
I downloaded the software and it cannot be programmed. I try to read it but it says error. How do I program it?
I could not find out how to access NOAA and pressing the - button whilst powering on does not do anything?

This work right away for me. Thanks !!!@@greasemonkey5340
These sound quite promising!
I couldn't find how to access the NOAA channels, thank you for this.
It's right in the manual. Press and hold channel down then turn radio on. You will see green light flashing and NOWAA will be enabled...
From where did you get the information they can't be programmed with chirp?
When I made this video they were NOT available through CHIRP, but since it is constantly upgraded, they now may be!
@markhadley1545 que modelo en chirp ocupo para el mp31 ya que este no aparece en chirp
😢 Alguém dabe onde encontrar bateria para esse rádio?
Can i use it as a simple walkie talkie
Well ….. these ARE GMRS radios, so you would need a license to use them on the frequencies they are on.
GMRS and FRS use the same frequencies and you do not need a license for 2 W.
