"Extra Large Wipes" made me chuckle
Haha! Yeah. Depends on the scale
Cerekote is what I used on my jeep and as far as washing goes I wash mine almost every week after applying. I just went over everything again and it had been right at a year since first application. It wasn't necessarily back to what it was originally but felt it needed coated again so I did.
So just in case anyone was curious with results of exposure to elements and continued washing. I'm from midwest btw so we have hot summers with lots of sun and cold winters with snow/ice and road salts. Decent mixture of weather at least.
Thank you for the additional info!
What a great video. I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait a year, thank you for that😂. I have plenty of plastic parts that need some love.🤙🏻
Haha! You’re welcome
Great video, thanks for putting in the time for this? Also some good Project Farm vibes 😄
Thank you! PF does a good job 👍
What a review. True durability test. I know what I’m buying for my Jeep Wrangler JK
So timely. Just spent an hour on my YJ’s bumpers and dash last night, need to do the JK next….
Just bought some Cerakote!
I’m a huge Cerakote fan! Glad your testing confirmed!
Oh man, did it ever! Thanks for watching
Just ordered 😮. Amazing after 1yr it looked like yesterday.
Wow! What a great test! I’m super impressed with those wipes!
Truly impressive for sure
There's no "Flood Penetrol". It's a paint additive, but works REALLY well for plastic or even faded black hardtop paint restoration.
Thanks for watching
I was literally just about to try a different brand then I already had which was meguiars not too long ago, and now you post this video. you have the best timing in the world.
I'm restoring the trim to darken the grey(ish) appearance on my XJ for first impressions at my new high school.
Sweet! Glad it helped. I hope you have a good year at school.
Love your channel! And I just ordered some cerakote!
Awesome! Thanks
Great video, thanks so much
Thanks!
On my 2007 jeep JK on all plastic black parts I used a small soft brass brissel brush and water to scrub dead plastic off.
You should give this a try. Truly impressive
Great test. Super smart design for it. Good job and thank you!
Thank you!
Great idea 👍🏻
Thanks!
Really great vid! I have learned so much from your walk throughs and appreciate how easy you make things look and your thoroughness. I needed something for the plastics on my 93 YJ and thanks to you (AGAIN!) I get to reap from your sowing! Thanks man and blessings to you!
So glad you’ve found my videos helpful! That’s what makes it worth while. Being able to help people out
Great job my friend.
Thank you!
Great vid Dale! I’ve had great results with Cerakote and DuraCoat Satin Black. They both have lasted well on my CJ.
Thanks!
Outstanding durability test Dale! I have always valued your opinions on things whether it's products or processes. Let's add this one to the list!
Thanks! It’s definitely one of my go to products now
nice review
Thanks!
I have heard good things about ceracoat just never saw it long term. Great video thanks for the test
Thanks! I was impressed
Great video. Just checked and it is available in the UK too, happy days. Definitely worth a follow up video in twelve months as they provide a 2 year guarantee. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! I may post an update again later
Thanks for another awesome video. Will absolutely be picking up the cerakote wipes for my WJ- last product (believe it was turtlewax) did an absolutely awful job
Thank you
I bought the cerakote kit based on this video and it turned my plastics into a streaky mess that looked like they had been in the desert sun for 30 years. Called cerakote to figure out how to strip it off and they said their product can be finicky and they don't recommend it for plastics that don't need to be restored (I have an 87 yj with old plastic 🤷). Had to use non-acetone nail polish remover and a magic eraser then a ton of Mother's Back to Black to get them back to a normal condition.
Be careful with this cerakote stuff, it looked great on the video, but my plastics hated this stuff.
Still my favorite Jeep channel
Huh. That’s super weird. Yes, I’ve heard not to use it on new plastic, but sounds like yours was old. My experience, as shown in this video was amazing! 10 year old plastic. Was yours shiny black, but streaky? I did notice in areas where I got it on too thick, it took a few days to even out. Maybe a cure time?
Thanks, Dale! I'm preserving the patina on my '89 Wrangler, so this isn't an issue for me. But I do have a newer car That I put Avalon King on. It has done great on the clearcote but not as great on plastic. Not scientific but I thought I'd throw it in.
That’s awesome!
I used cerakote on my Jeep and it looks good even after 2 years.
Amazing!
going to order cerakote wipes!
through your link
Guess ill have to get Cerakote for my tj here in Vegas.
Yep! Good stuff
✅️
Is the Cerakote for Black plastic only or all plastics? Is it exterior only or okay for interiors?
It’s not colored so I think it’s fine on gray. I’m going to try it on my yj dash as well
