Loved this video. I did not know that both sodas could be purchased at the parks before. I'm more of a Coke person, so I'm OK with Disney's current agreement with them.
@@cosmiceclipse7131 get water from any food place that has tables to eat at, they will give you a water cup if you ask, tastes better than Dasani and it’s free.
What a coincidence I was just drinking some Coke myself and now you guys upload this video. It's always fascinating to remember that Disney used to be such a small company that they needed sponsors to build Disneyland and how Disneyland was basically considered a pipe dream by many back then.
At Corona library (in riverside county, so it’s just a county next door to Disneyland’s Orange County) I’m dtt try inking a coke purchased from. Their vending machine. Pretty cool, huh?
Personally, I prefer Pepsi. It's a bit sweeter than Coke, which is what I like in drinks. As someone who works at Galaxy's Edge, it was really fun seeing the droid cart in this video. Fun Fact: Those droids have names! So if you go to Galaxy's Edge, be sure to ask the person running the carts to say hi to the droid.
Actually I think Coke is sweeter. But I still prefer Pepsi precisely because it’s not as sweet. Maybe “sweet” isn’t the right word; Coke tastes more “sugary”. Coke is too strong. Pepsi is a nicer mild.
This video was really well done TPM! I really do enjoy the videos you’ve been doing for so long but something like this really felt refreshing and I liked the style you did it in! Keep these up!
Can you do a video about Dollywood? It has a fascinating history with Dolly Parton and Silver Dollar City, as well as a really awesomely themed park! I’d love to see you make a video on my favorite park in the world
So interesting to see that Pepsi sponsored it’s a small world! I had no idea, and how that gave walt so many ideas for other boat rides. Amazing!!! Another great vid! ❤️
While coke drinks are only sold at Disney, Pepsi’s Frito Lay brand sells their snack products since both companies have multi year contracts. So you can have your coke drink and your pepsi snack.
Amazing video, I love this direction for TPMVids. I'm very invested in the theme park cola wars because my local park was all Pepsi for my whole childhood, and then one day suddenly switched to coke. We even had a kiddie ride themed to Pepsi delivery trucks, which was just changed to generic trucks after the switch
I love all these specific episodes you upload! You wouldn’t think it be that interesting but then he’s like “Welcome to tpm vids Disney beat! Today we’re going to talk about two plié and one plié toilet paper at the parks” and it’s one of the most interesting episodes You’ll watch in months! Lol don’t stop man, love your show!!
So fun personal fact, i used to work for the company who made the Soda-guns for Disney! One night we had to do a rush order for them to get done and ready to be personally flown to Orlando the morning after by one of the higher ups the next morning. And they were Coke Red
I’m a Coke guy - perhaps because Pepsi is a bit too sweet, or maybe just the years I lived in Atlanta (Coke’s hometown). I have to admit it was kind of sad to see Pepsi’s relationship with Disney to just kinda fizzle out after doing some big stuff for them. What I really miss though are those commercial jingles. They’re straight 🔥. Nobody seems to do jingles that could be turned into a hit song anymore.
My husband is a recovering alcoholic and drinks a lot of Pepsi. When we went to Disney world all he could find was Coca Cola. He drank it but after a few days he wasn’t looking too good. That was awhile ago. If we go back we’ll just take a Lyft or Uber to a store to get some Pepsi.
This was probably one of the most interesting videos I've seen on this channel, and I discovered it while I was looking up creepy animatronics/malfunctions
I remember doing the Pepsi Challenge back in the day. I lost every time because I'd always choose Coke as the one I liked better. LOL! Pepsi tastes too sweet for me and doesn't stay fizzy as long as Coke does.
Exactly my thoughts! Pepsi is just a little sweeter and doesn't stay fizzy as long. Me, my mom and my sister all have very different opinions and tastes, and yet we agree on this with Coke, that it is better because of those 2 things. We all hate when sodas get very sweet and we all hate when it loses the fizzy quickly (whatever it's called lol). But that said, I still like Pepsi and would drink it too, but if I have the choice, I'd almost always pick Coca-Cola over Pepsi. The difference is not that huge anyway. I do love Mountain Dew, 7UP and Sprite more than those 2.
You did some great research for this video. Thank you. I personally prefer Diet Dr. Pepper. It's not as easy to find. If I can't find it I usually drink Coke Zero. But I don't drink a ton of soda. It's a sometimes treat for me.
Fantastic video! I remember doing the Pepsi challenge a bunch in the 90's when I was a kid. I always professed to like Pepsi better (and I still do) but I'd always choose Coke 😆
Universal Orlando did the same thing as 12:53 when they decided to switch to Coke around the time both Islands of Adventure and CityWalk opened even though Universal had been serving Pepsi since they were first opened and Universal has been with Coke since then. Also, SeaWorld's change from Pepsi to Coke in early 2012 marked the end of Pepsi's presence in the big 3 Orlando area theme park complexes for the time being.
I remember when Pepsi products were sold at Busch Gardens. Then when they switched to Coke products, I noticed more Coke advertisements around the park and got a bit disappointed.
I worked at the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom (Orlando) in 1980-1982 and we served Coke and Pepsi side by side - We would fill pitchers with each and use those pitchers to fill individual glasses with ice which people chose from as they took their cafeteria meals through the lines to the cashier. Coke and Pepsi in plastic tumblers stood side by side for guests to pick the one they wanted.
Really enjoyed the different style of video, found it really interesting to learn new facts about the parks And personally I prefer Dr Pepper over the two but I have a preference to Pepsi
I was Pepsi, but they altered their formula in Brazil reducing 30% the amount of suggar... I don't know why they did it, why not create a light Pepsi insted altering the original?... I also don't know if this happened in other country?
Great video! I’m sad that Pepsi is no longer in the parks. I hate that Coke is your only option on property. No variety. I prefer Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and Dr Pepper over any of the stuff Coke produces…and I guess it’s good for me because I spend far less on drinks in the park than I would if it was Pepsi instead of Coke. What I find to be the most annoying thing here in central Florida though, is that since Legoland bought out Cypress Gardens and Sea World parks changed hands, now Pepsi fans can’t get ANY of their product in any theme park down here.
Well done, from your introduction I thought you where going to miss out Pepsi in Shanghai Disneyland, the “overseas” parks are often forgotten about but Disney/theme park UA-cam. And thank you for the explanation, I’ve always wondered why Pepsi is served at Shanghai Disneyland.
For me I m a coke drinker. But most non Disney parks I go to or have been have coke like Six flags, Ceder fair, herchand, all have coke. My home park has Pepsi as well as a park over a hr away from me
I go for what is convenient for me. Much more peaceful when the many soda companies just make peace and just play it like a subway series baseball game.
Very interesting that Pepsi was once in the Disney parks. Personally I’m a Pepsi drinker, and while at the parks really miss not having a choice, I have been known to carry one in with me, I definitely bring Pepsi into my resort room to put in the refrigerator. I wish the choice would come back !!!
Pepsi as a drink is not in the park, but all those chips and snacks are all Pepsi, while coke has won the coke war, people still need food to go along with it.
This might sound kind of cliche, but Coca Cola is the GM of the beverage world so they are always going to be high and mighty. I actually think more theme parks and restaurants should have Pepsi products, Coca Cola is so popular they practically and are a monopoly since Coke seems to be everywhere while Pepsi seems to be a little tricky to find.
The coke, Pepsi war reminds me of the 80s-2000s nitro and raw war in professional wrestling. Just 2 companies trying to beat eachother out by marketing and I love it
I do know that the Country Bear Jamboree attraction at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park in Central Florida was once presented by Pepsi-Cola from 1971 to 1981. That’s a ten year contract for the attraction.
I wanted to tell you TPM that the Coca-Cola company is really successful and even has it's own store at Disney Springs where in 2020, I met the official Coke Mascot. Pepsi never really had a place completely Pepsi like Coca-Cola did. I am not a soda drinker but it does seem like everybody I know prefers Coke pver Pepsi. Pepsi is currently being sold at SeaWorld and it seems like Pepsi is growing there quite a bit.
Pepsi is way better thank Coke. It is a shame they pushed pepsi out when Walt even knew it was better. You pay over $100 to get in and you cant even get a pepsi.
Pepsi's last ties with anything Disney came in 1988. Long after getting the boot from the parks, The Wrather Corp still ran The Disneyland Hotel and had both Coca-Cola and Pepsi Vending Machines and in thr restaurants until Disney acquired the hotel, and Pepsi products were gone!
