Hope you all enjoy the video!! Had a lot of fun putting these breakdowns together, so thank you for all the submissions! If you have a video to share you can submit it to www.tpmvids.com
The video issue on star tours at 10:40 was caused by the video “reference signal” being lost. All of the rides that have multiple screens like this, are locked to “timecode”. Instead of hitting play on a bunch of videos and hoping they sync up, there is a master clock that is keeping all of the videos locked to a grid and playing together in a timeline. When that “clock” malfunctions, you see the “scanning”/“end credit” effect like you see here! Due to the age of the ride, it was most likely a hardware failure. That’s also why you see the two different projectors for the 3D being slightly off at 11:31 (look how you see a faded version of the image below itself), and the audio had blips during the ride.
I always thought it was a "show program" saved to all the speeders and to the master that begun once the CM pressed the button once the doors were locked, this explains that "awkward sitting in darkness" moment before the ride begins, who knew
My favorite will have to be number 3 mostly because of how Captain Jack Sparrow appeared when the ride broke down. Guess he wanted to make sure that the guests weren’t drowning from their boat and wanted to put a smile on their face instead.
8:47 On water rapid rides, the pumps that push rafts along are also the pumps that continuously fill the ride. In the event of an emergency, these rides are designed so that the water naturally flows out of the ride when the power is cut/off. essentially, the pumps powering the rides pump in more water than can leave the ride. This way, there's no reliance on a valve that could fail in an emergency.
Never been more proud to be British than watching a fellow countryman prance about a ride, in France, dressed as Jack Sparrow and entertaining people stuck on said ride! I'd buy that bloke a pint! Also, C-3PO breaking down seems somewhat apropos! Does anyone know if that was actually Anthony Daniels doing the voice there? Couldn't quite catch it, but sounded very much like him.
9:35 - I have little plastic ankle-high booties with elastic bands to secure around our legs which I bring into the park with us so my family can protect their shoes on water rides. Disney can and totally should invest in having a selection of these sitting back stage which they can give guests during this in-show exit so they don’t have to dunk their shoes in water.
19:44 - I understand the sentiment here…. They actually made it further than we did on our first ride through Rise of the Resistance. We got all loaded up, buckled in, got the briefing from Finn, and then the cast member is like “So have any of you guys gotten evacuated from a ride before?” Not getting to experience that anticipated ride on the first opportunity can feel devastating.
17:13 pretty sure Jack said “C’était moi” (It was me) instead of “C’est et moi” This was the BEST in-show exit out of ALL of the ones you did! This was just too funny that Jack decided to show up and run around the scene! One question where did Jack come from? Does the Jack Sparrow restaurant have a meet and greet? Cuz the restaurant is literally INSIDE the ride. Anyways this was amazing and I love your videos!❤
He most likely came from the restaurant yes. It doesn’t have an official meet and greet, but sometimes you can super lucky and at lunchtimes he pops in! Rare for it to happen though
I can't believe the Jack Sparrow one wasn't #1 lol It was definitely the best in show exit I've ever seen on TPM. Having a walk-around character come in to make that even more special was just perfect. Sadly I've never had an in show exit... maybe one day T.T
My mom and I were riding Kilimanjaro Safaris, and everything seemed to be going fine until we got to the Baobab Tree (right before the savannah portion), and we stopped like normal. However, we stayed there for a very long time, so long in fact, the driver shut off the vehicle. And I thought: wow there must really be a lot of animals on the road slowing the vehicles ahead of us. The driver kept up a steady stream of dialogue during the whole waiting period, and nobody really thought anything of it. Finally, the driver restarted the vehicle, and we headed into the savannah, but strangely there were no other vehicles ahead of us. Then we stopped again just a few yards in, and the driver shuts off the vehicle again. I'm starting to side eye the driver because, even though she's going on with animal facts like normal, it's very weird for the truck to be turned off again. So she restarts it again and we go another couple of yards before we stop again! Same thing as before; stop, turn off the truck, and restart, repeatedly. Before long, my mom starts looking at me like: what is happening here? Now kudos to the driver because she kept nattering on trying to keep our experience going while simultaneously trying to talk into CB radio to someone else. Finally though, she had to come clean to us because while some stops were awesome like near the elephants, others were of nothing, and the guests were starting to get antsy. The driver said she was going to try and stop and restart vehicle as needed and limp it towards the exit. Happily, no one on our trip was sour about the extended ride, and even laughed every time the truck died and had to be restarted. Obviously, I had time to ask the driver how we would get to the exit if she couldn't get the truck restarted because I couldn't imagine the let everyone off and walk on foot with loose animals around. Even if they corralled the animals, I just couldn't imagine they would let guests just walk to the exit. (Apparently, they bring in a tow truck and just tow us out). So we're almost to the exit, we can see a line of cast members waiting for us and waving us in, and then....the truck dies. Just a few feet from the unloading station. Everyone cracked up and just started clapping. I don't think I laughed that hard in a long time. So we just sit there for a few, and then the driver managed to limp it to the dock. The cheer that went up was so loud, even the driver started laughing. Major kudos to the driver in this situation!
Kali River Rapids: HOW AM I HERE?! *Carousel of Progress, Splash Mountain/Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Indiana Jones, Rise of the Resistance, Buzz Lightyear: First time?*
Went to Disney World in July and went on The Seas, and at the end of the ride, it stopped. The song at the end was stuck in my head for the rest of the trip 😂
The ride uses the omnimover system, like with rides like the Haunted Mansion and The Little Mermaid, so it does have to stop periodically to let those who need assistance get on or off the ride more easily. But out of curiosity, how long were you stopped and did any cast members have to come get you out of the ride vehicles?
@@ThePirateprincess23we were stopped for around 10 minutes or so and I don’t believe any cast members came to help anyone. The ride eventually started moving again
Splash Mountain may no longer be with us, but it lives on in spirit. Somewhere in the void, Splash Mountain is looking on at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and saying ‘That’s my girl’
My first time riding Rise of the Resistance we had just gotten into our vehicles (after we are rescued from our prison) and we sat inside for what felt like an hour (it was probably just 30 minutes but it was long). We weren’t complaining because it was hot outside, we had a nice A/C and the cast members were entertaining us. Later, they escorted out behind the walls of Galaxy Edge and it was so cool seeing all the design behind it (and how perspective really tickles your brain from a certain point of view.) The cast members were later informed that the ride was back on so they took us back inside and we still got to ride the ride right after, no fast passes, just straight into the ride lol. I didn’t have a phone at the time to record it but is was an amazing experience!
I low-key want to be stopped during Astro Blasters just so I can say "Emperor Zurg won this one, guys. I'm sorry, but I'm actually loyal to Lord Zurg." and milk it to the highest extent. I admit, I am a Zurg loyalist so I would totally take advantage of that.
The only ride I’ve ever been stuck on was It’s A Small World at Disneyland. They left the music going for almost the whole time! They also said a lot of time it’s the ducks setting off the sensors there and causing a reboot.
Having an in-show exit being stuck in the mines part of Snow White’s ride is so cool. I honestly wish I could see it in person with lights on. I love the details and designs Disney’s parks use
7:12 Whenever i was at disney in august, right before i got on callie, they did the announcement of the ‘unruly river rapids’ AND THAT ADDED LIKE AN EXTRA 30 MINUTES OF WAITING
real cinema is back in business. i try and get a breakdown each time i go but somehow ive become a lucky charm to make everything work perfectly....happy for another video though!! been a fan for years 💕
Since 1994, this has been my favorite Disney ride. The level of detail and special effects are amazing. I also appreciate, after riding it many times, that every ride is a bit different. I think the only other ride that could possibly knock it out of the running, for me, would be Pirates of the Caribbean in Shanghai. Hope to experience that one day. Soon. Once again, another top notch video. ❤️👍
I really wish I had it on camera but we broke down on 2 of the Star Wars rides in the same day. The first was rise of the resistance right after your broken out of the jail and loaded into the ride vehicle. Our ride vehicle was malfunctioning and we had to move from one to another. It wasn’t an in show exit and we did get to fully ride the ride but still. The second was on the star tours. This one we got fully loaded and sat there for probably 5 or 7 minutes before the told us our pod had malfunctioned and we needed to get in a new one. Both times we were able to ride the full rides in the moment and we didn’t have to come back later. The cast meme ears were also really nice! I really want a real I show exit though. That day was one of the best days ever just because one of the cast members. He was so in character and interacted in a way that made my year! Love your videos!
2 in show exits from Rise on the same day…ride closed for rest of the day and my entire party received a free single day park ticket good for 12 months.
omg! I was at Animal Kingdom the day that Kali River Rapids broke down in November! Maybe it wasn’t the exact day, but I remember walking by and seeing the water so low, super cool!
The snow white enchanted wish breakdown sounds interesting I never expected to see how amazing the special effects are with the lights on or the lights off
The craziest part of working the Speedway at WDW was anytime when adding or removing the cars and you missed the track because of the cars only having a wide turning radius! My most embarrassing moment though was accidentally sending a guest on her way from the loading area not realizing one of my fellow cast members who just removed a car hadn’t got the track back raised… 😬 Watching the girl drive down and seeing my job possibly going with it had me terrified but luckily she kept the car straight traveling over the lowered track portion and made it on to the ride track! 😅😅😂🤣🙌🏾 shout out to the young girl’s driving skills LOL
I wonder why they're not perforating the stairs on the mine train coaster for the water to drain through, or make that bit fold out when the ride stops.
We leave this Saturday Nov 9th for a week in Disney! I’m pumped. With that said I always buy new sneakers to go on vacation. Getting them wet is fine but having to walk through water on a break down I think I would be upset but would get over it. Love Disney! We go about every 2 years.
I mean, last week I was in line for space mountain at Disney land when the work lights turned on, I saw what was going on at the loading station (I was that close to the ride) it was so cool, and when the work lights turned off, everyone in that room cheered.
I was on tianas a couple weeks ago, it was my first ride since it opened and my sister and i waited for 2 hours We were right before the big drop when the ride stopped. We shouldve know because only like one of the animatronics were working the whole ride. A minute later the lights came on and we were evacuated. My sister was super mad but i was super excited. We walked all through what used to be the laughing place. And we were led outside to the backside of the ride. We walked all through cast member areas, they wouldnt let us record due to saftey reasons which i completely understand. It was a super cool experience though. The only time it was ever scary was when they were letting us out of the logs and i stepped onto the side and almost fell backwards into the water. Luckily the cast member caught me. I am dearly grateful for them 😂
On rise of the resistance, we were in the queue that was after the pre-show room (the one where we get kidnapped) and the ride broke down. The staff helped us evacuate and we got to pass by a lot of staff-only rooms and hallways. Cool experience.
I got an in show exit on Kali River Rapids in September 2021 or 2022, also at the top of the drop. I was in the second of three rafts stuck at the top. I didn't film it. I didn't want to accidentally drop my phone in the water. I remember there being a web of pipes under the water that we had to step around. It took more than just a few minutes to drain the ride. There was less than an inch of water left. The backstage exit into the park was at Thirsty River Bar.
Hi TPM VIDS!! I love your videos and I went on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for magic key previews on Friday last week, i saw a malfunction of tiana and Louis, where do we submit the clip?
Hi, Tpmvids I do enjoy loving your videos of ride breakdowns...❤❤ And some other Disney theme parks never got listed in the park as we saw post your videos. I want you to make another video of ride breakdowns: Top 10 Disney Fails, Ride Breakdowns & Malfunctions Pt 15 - Walt Disney World, Disneyland & Paris 10- Webslingers a Spiderman Adventure 9- Pinocchio's Daring Journey 8- Monsters Inc Mike & Sulley to the Rescue 7- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 6- Mickey's PhilharMagic 5- Na'vi River Journey 4- Rockin Roller Coaster 3- Peter Pan's Flight 2- Disney Junior Dance Party 1- The Seas with Nemo & Friends
When I rode Indiana Jones for the first time at Disneyland, as soon as we enter the room with Mara, we broke down and were stuck for a good 20 minutes. We started seeing people get evacuated off the ride but we didn’t, they eventually started the ride again but the work lights were on and some of the effects were turned off, then once we got back to the unloading station, they asked if we wanted to go again and they sent us off to get the full experience!
I broke down on tron. They launched our coaster too close to the one in front of us. Everyone else had a lights on ride through but we had to be evacuated off. Crazy experience.
My greatest breakdown occurred in May 2023 at Star Tours in Disneyland. We got the Jaccu escape scene and Fin shot at the Tie Fighters but it looked like he shot us and as soon as he did the ride shut down and the doors slammed shut lmao
Hope you all enjoy the video!! Had a lot of fun putting these breakdowns together, so thank you for all the submissions! If you have a video to share you can submit it to www.tpmvids.com

How much of this b-roll is your own, and if so, how much are you in the Disney parks???
That was sweet of Jack Sparrow to pop in a few times to make the guests' Pirates of the Caribbean in-show exit very magical!
I'll say!
No kidding! WIsh it could happen more often whenever a ride breaks down

The only time it was ever scary was when they were letting us out of the logs and i stepped onto the side and almost fell backwards into the water. Luckily the cast member caught me. I am dearly grateful for them 😂
He’s Back!
No way my videos in this!! Love your channel!!
Is it bad that I saw the thumbnail and thought the 10 would be (or could be) just from Tiana's?
Yess a new vid! Glad to see malfunctions come back
Tiana’s is terrible. They spent all that money and it never works and it’s a huge downgrade
I would like to see a breakdown on one of the castle park railroad rides!
always a good day when tpm uploads
TPM should do more long Disney history videos
I love these videos! I've only ever been evacuated from test track and pirates, but these videos give me hope I'll get more one day 😂😂
On rise of the resistance, we were in the queue that was after the pre-show room (the one where we get kidnapped) and the ride broke down. The staff helped us evacuate and we got to pass by a lot of staff-only rooms and hallways. Cool experience.
"have you ever broken down...?"
Yes
Hi, Tpmvids I do enjoy loving your videos of ride breakdowns...❤❤
And some other Disney theme parks never got listed in the park as we saw post your videos.

This is an awesome breakdown video 📹 👏 👌!🎉
When I rode Indiana Jones for the first time at Disneyland, as soon as we enter the room with Mara, we broke down and were stuck for a good 20 minutes. We started seeing people get evacuated off the ride but we didn’t, they eventually started the ride again but the work lights were on and some of the effects were turned off, then once we got back to the unloading station, they asked if we wanted to go again and they sent us off to get the full experience!
was thinking about tpm and so i go to watch their vids while doing my hw. what a surprise they posted for me!!!!
I broke down on tron. They launched our coaster too close to the one in front of us. Everyone else had a lights on ride through but we had to be evacuated off. Crazy experience.
The most impressive is for water attraction, I had never thought of this kind of case.
LET IT GO was funny 😂😂😂
"Hello TPM 😔"
"Hello🤗😋😆🤭"
I clicked faster than you can say TPM Vids. I love these malfunction videos. Keep it up
My greatest breakdown occurred in May 2023 at Star Tours in Disneyland. We got the Jaccu escape scene and Fin shot at the Tie Fighters but it looked like he shot us and as soon as he did the ride shut down and the doors slammed shut lmao
My grandma and I once made it to the front of the line in Pirates of Caribbean when it had apparently broken down.
I love your videos ❤
