I used Rustoleum 2x clear to seal both my inks and my waterslide. You just need to make sure if you are using Crystalac that you let it gas off for at least 48 hours before applying a layer of Crystalac/Brite Tone over the sealer.
I have to be honest and while I think your tumbler is beautiful, I almost didn't watch! I figured, I've seen lots of marble/Milkyway tutorials, why watch another? But I love watching you and your voice is so soothing that i decided to anyway and I'm SOOO glad I did! This technique is awesome! Thank you so much!
Absolutely loved this video! I have been stocking Tumblr videos and you by far are amazing! Could you tell me, did you spray the Tumblr with varnish before you put on the top coats?
Oh wow… thank you so much!!! I sealed the inks with Rustoleum 2x clear coat and allowed that to gas off for 48 hours before applying any of my topcoat Crystalac product
Yes… after my inks dried I put a couple of coats of Rustoleum 2x clear matte on it. Then allowed it to gas off for 48 hours before moving on to my Brite tone layers.
Thank you. This is called Crystalac… it’s an epoxy alternative. It’s non toxic. I was EXTREMELY ALLERGIC to epoxy and had to switch. It’s amazing stuff!
Yes… you certainly can. Just always allow 48 hours minimum for the alcohol inks and clear sealer to gas off before applying your Brite Tone. I seal water slides no matter what. No risks! Lol
I have ink from dr.ph. Martin's hydrus and dandylionpaint company. I bought them when I was painting with watercolor. Could I use these to do this tumbler?
Ahhh… I understand. Fortunately I’ve not had issues with fading. Crystalac now has inks… they shouldn’t fade. I own them but have not yet tried them due to our move.
Love this tumbler! Your tutorial was so informative! I have been scared of doing tumblers, but you make it look so easy. I want to use Brite tone myself.
Hi Sherri! Thanks so much for w! I’m so glad you found this tutorial helpful! The Crystalac company recently released a new product SPECIFICALLY designed for tumblers. It’s called Grande Finale. I’ve had to take a break from tumblers for a few months bc we are in the process of flipping a farm and moving. Not sure if you’ve watched any of my Flipping the Farm videos but I will have a new studio and I can’t wait! Anyways all of that to say I will be using grand finale whenever I get set back up to make tumblers. It only has a 2 Hour dry time between coats vs Brite Tones 4 Hour dry time. You might check into that if you’re ready to get started with it. I have an affiliate link in my bio for Brite town the link takes you to the Crystalac company where you can also see the Grand Finale and purchase it there. Again… thanks for watching! 😊
Yes...prep is huge with Brite tone. I just skipped mentioning it in this one for some reason..lol. Always sand and remove the factory coating from your stainless steel tumbler before starting. I have a "tumbler prep" video dropping Tuesday in fact showing how I prep mine. :) Thanks for watching!
@@karenbaskettdiyer As I said, I am totally new to this. I made the most hideous glitter tumbler my first go. I am thinking alcohol ink might be the way to go in the beginning since I don't have to worry about texture. Thanks for responding!
Well don’t stress over it LOL you definitely need to go back and watch some of my older videos oh my word I made some of the craziest and ugliest mistakes! Ya just got a push through! Hang in there!!! Again… thanks so much for watching!
🤩🤩🤩🤩I love it❤️! Its absolutely stunning🤩🤩🤩The colors are exactly what Im looking for. ....I love Crystalac its so safe that we can just use our fingers Cheers🥂Ontario Canada.
Great marbling, you made me a little nervous when you first started your marbling but I knew you could pull it off! 😉 So glad you added glitter & mica powders. Lovely 🥤
Oh my goodness… thank you so much Patti!!! Not sure if you are on fb or Instagram but if you will message me on either of those I’ll let you know price and get more details there. Thanks for watching!
Crystalac's Brite Tone is very different from resin. It's a water based product and is fully cured and hardened in 30 days but is totally safe to gently use within 7 days. So it's really it's own thing if that makes sense. You use it for every layer and the finish is amazingly shiny! NON TOXIC .. totally safe to touch and no ppe required! Thanks so much for watching!!!
I've been doing alcohol inks for awhile via the flooding method, but this technique looks just as easy, less waste and so super pretty. I can't believe the vibrancy you achieved - is that the method, the ink or the Bright Tone? Or a mix of all three?
Hii… thanks for watching! My colors were just really vibrant. I love those Let’s Resin inks! I think using so many then thinning them with alcohol and adding more just allowed the colors to really pop!
Gorgeous!! Good idea moving the inks into the patterns!!
Thanks so much Robin! 😊 It was a fun one to make for sure! Thanks for watching!
I love this cup! 👍👍💖
Thank you Rozana!
So beautiful! I just found you and look forward to more videos.
Awww thank you so much Yvonne!!!!! I appreciate you watching!!!
Absolutely gorgeous!! I want to try this🙂
Thank you Lori! I hope you have fun making yours! I would love to see the results!!! FB or IG me!
Love it!!😍
Thank you Trisha! I’m about to make another! Gonna try different colors this time!
@@karenbaskettdiyer I'm looking forward to it! ❣
What did u use to seal it? I just bought inks and so other videos saying u can’t use it like u can with epoxy so now I am afraid I wasn’t money?

Thank you so much Karen beautiful tumbler
@@denisedockter5074 thank you!
I love the way your Tumbler came out... You are the first person I have seen to do epoxy with your hands
Thank you. This is called Crystalac… it’s an epoxy alternative. It’s non toxic. I was EXTREMELY ALLERGIC to epoxy and had to switch. It’s amazing stuff!
Beautiful! Wasn't sure how or if you could use alcohol ink with Brite Tone. When you mirror your waterslide do you still have to seal it?
Yes… you certainly can. Just always allow 48 hours minimum for the alcohol inks and clear sealer to gas off before applying your Brite Tone. I seal water slides no matter what. No risks! Lol
Awesome - I think I would have a problem stopping lol - so very pretty - you guy are doing a great job on your new house
Thank you Joyce!
Can I take the CrystaLac all the way to the lip where your mouth goes?
Yes! I just use my craft knife to clean up the flat tops of the rim.
I have ink from dr.ph. Martin's hydrus and dandylionpaint company. I bought them when I was painting with watercolor. Could I use these to do this tumbler?
I bet that would work!
@@karenbaskettdiyer awesome, I'm going to try it! Love all your videos
I’m definitely going have to try this!
Great! If your using Crystalac just remember to allow 48 hours for those alcohol inks to cure before adding your Brite Tone or Grande Finale! :)
Absolutely beautiful!!! What an awesome technique for doing inks!!! Great tutorial!
Glad you liked it!! Thank you so much for watching Jackie!!!!
Can you do a Xmas lites peekaboo tumbler

How long after spray ain’t the cup white can you start with alcohol inks?
I just basically make sure the spray paint is dry… maybe an hour…?
Thanks for watching!
Oh ok! Then seal it & wait 48hrs before BT? Making sure I got this process down lol
Love it beautiful ❤
Thank you!
