I'm having a really hard time spray painting my tumbler. It seems no matter how many times I try I get runs. If it has runs will it completely ruin my tumbler? I have sanded and done over but runs everytime lol I'm cursed I guess. Does it have to be perfect ? Didn't know if it would be seen under epoxy. Newbie here trying to learn :) Your cups are beautiful!
You want to do short bursts at a little distance. If you're getting drips, don't try to get full coverage in 1 coat. It is getting too wet and dripping. Do a thin coat and let dry for a few minutes then go back for another thin coat. Keep doing thin coats and dry in between until you get full coverage and no drips.
Gorgeous as always, I love your videos. I haven't tried making cups yet but I really want to soon. Just learning as much as I can before I try it out 💖💖😊💖💖
I have a question, I just made one, right now I'm on the 1st coat of epoxy, do I need to sand it or just put the decal and put another coat of epoxy. I'm scare that I will mess it up. 😁
Hi! Love all your videos! Couldn't wait to try alcohol inks on a tumbler. Question, So i tried this technique and have issues.... help! I coated the cup with resin and used alcohol inks, came out great - let it cure overnight.. Applied decals, then went to add the next coat of resin and it separated badly during curing. It barely adhered to the cup? why? Same resin, same room temp. Cup was clean and covered the whole time. How can i fix it? Thanks so much if you have the time to answer or help. ♥
@@FlynnSistersBoutique Sorry, the resin separated and barely covered the tumbler. The decal didnt effect the resin, it was like the resin didn't adhere to the previous coat. I used the same resin product, same room temp.
I made 2 of these for Christmas presents last year, (they were a BIG HIT). I got a few helpful tips from your video , (no heat after ink) so now I need to make myself one LOL. TFS xo Melissa
Do you think spinning the tumbler at a slower pace will give you better movement? I have a tendency to spin my cups a little 'fast' but I wasn't sure if the slower spin would cause drips. LOVE this one that you did. Makes me want to have another cup of coffee.
I looked in your description and clicked on the links and I didn’t find one for the maroon pads and the stuff you scrubbed on the cup after you sanded, could you tell me where to get those? Beautiful cup by the way!!
@@FlynnSistersBoutique thank you!! And no problem!! I’ve subscribed to your channel and I’ll receive all notifications, I’m just starting out so I’m trying to learn EVERYTHING
It depends on what your making. You can start with small bottles of both part a and part b to practice and get started. The more tumblers you bein to make, the larger sizes you'll want to buy.
I did this as the 2nd tumbler I ever made, and it is my hubby's favorite one to date! He uses it every week for his coffee while on his work meeting calls!
So excited to try this! I have 2 coffee cups for my mom and aunt I bought to do this design with. Im glad I seen your video before I did I thought I would need heat with the white
Beautiful!!! Love it!!! I don’t drink coffee. My Favortie is cappuccino. I think it’s the same as coffee. My husband says cappuccino’s are for sissy’s Lol
Mine was gifted to my from a Honeywell employee before the pandemic. I have not been able to source one with a stable link because they sell out so quickly. You can find one by googling: "full face organic vapor respirator"
@@FlynnSistersBoutique I also want to know if I need to have my wet epoxy like when I'm applying to my cups in another room away from where I have my work space like when I'm glittering or working on my computer because right now it's all in one room where I do everything.
I just tried this and when I added the white it turned pink on the edges... anyone else? Could I use white acrylic paint mixed in some epoxy for the same effect?
Yours Turned out wonderful! The green lettering and white reminds me of mint. I went MINT COFFEE? Ummm yuck...in my head but love the color combo and offsets! I loved the Purple Stitch. She has great content and lots of neat ideas. 💋💋
I love your cups and tutorials. Classy. I was wondering if you can do a boy cup. No glitter and a decal (specific) . I did get a request for. I looooove glitter and pinks and whites and golds and silvers. So this is difficult for me. Lol. I am thinking navy blue with glow in it . Maybe a galaxy look. Since he asked for a character.
I have a question about decals. Im just starting out with cups. I don't have cricut to make my own decals yet. Is there a website you might suggest where I could order pre-made decals already? Would you also be able to do a tutorial on how to calculate the amount of epoxy to use on different size cups?
I would try Etsy for that. As far as a calculator for epoxy amounts, that’s kind of difficult since different designs and cup size call for different amounts. Generally my first coat is 30ml-60ml, 2nd coat is 20ml and each coat after is 10ml-20ml
Happy and Healthy New Year to you and yours Jessica. Another beautiful cup thanks for sharing. I see oceans and a beautiful sky using this technique. 😊

Thank you so much again for this lesson :)
Thank you for watching Teanini!
Wish I had watched this again before I jacked up two cups trying this. I used heat and Alumilite white in epoxy instead of Pinata.
😍 love it!! Thank you again for an amazing tutorial
Yesss! I’m so glad you did this. I’ve been wanting to try this. Love it 😍

Love it.
LOVE IT 💘 😻 💜
Can we use acrylic paint when you do a tumbler?
Yes
Cute 🥰
Should this work with the Tim Holtz white mixative?
At first it looks like potatoes and pickles lol. Love the end results!
Your videos are AMAZING. I just have one question. Approximately how long do you let the epoxy sit before you start applying the inks? Thank you
You dont let it sit. You want the epoxy to still be moving to helps the inks move around the tumbler.
I've failed 2 times already ☹️ my epoxy loves too much do u have to use fast set??
Less epoxy in your clear coat, less heat. I don’t use fast set for these but you could try, just move quickly

Hi I did not see that scrubbing material you used in your description
It’s from diyepoxy.com called final San d
I have a question, I just made one, right now I'm on the 1st coat of epoxy, do I need to sand it or just put the decal and put another coat of epoxy. I'm scare that I will mess it up. 😁
If it's been sitting for less than 24 hours then no just go ahead and do the decal and epoxy
What was the cleaner that you used instead of sanding? I break out from the sanding process. Thanks
You can use bar keepers friend
Newbie question: Do you find alcohol inks lose their color the older the tumbler gets?
I have not
If I use a white paste do I need to spray paint tumbler? Of course after sanding and prepping cup
I don't know what white paste you are referring to.
Where did you get the Turners.
Everything i use is linked in my description box.
now i got inks i gotta try this, it beautiful
Omg i love it !thank you 😍🥰

@@FlynnSistersBoutique Awesome. Thank you. I'll give it a try. I'm always worried about the epoxy falling off the cup if I spin too slow. :-)

That's what i use but you can give another white a try.

Hello. So the epoxy, first later, don’t have to completely dry overnight?
No, most epoxy resins we use on tumblers can accept a second coat after 4-6 hours
Love the colour and how it turned out 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I’m just starting out so this is a newbie question but how do you make a tapered or shaped cup level?
Just level the very bottom of the up one the tuner. The bottom should sit at a 90 degree and from the table your turner is on
I tried this twice last fall and it was a total fail. Now I know why. Thanks for the tips. Maybe I try again.
Omgosh love your videos and love coffee ☕️ and Pepsi. Love so much for explaining everything as I'm new and still learning 💛. Thank you so much!!

I don’t see link for sanding paste. I believe I got the wrong one…mine was white and urs looks green
It is a light gray paste. Any sanding paste should work just fine for prep. Alternatively, you can just use sanding paper.
Love..Love your music..Question: can you use a cheap cup for practice?? Love the tutorial..Thanks for sharing..
