I don't want to be that guy, but can you work on the voiceover? It feels like it stops randomly, sound quality changes constantly (echo etc.), it feels like you're reading a script, not like you're telling us about it. Sorry
A grand example of music that balances a degree of accessibility with the "avant" would be british art punks Cardiacs, phenomenal stuff. Musically complex, but also very emotionally rich.
@@rocioermann2050 you're not wrong, I still occasionally come back to old Zorn + Yamatsuka Eye stuff, but as much as it is weird, avant garde free jazz / fusion experimentation isn't very obscure
@@KNURKonesur idk I feel Daniel johnston feels more known because he got glorified more recently. I rarely come across people who appretiate some patton shit beyond his typical frontmen rock. not saying it’s for the obscure categories but definitely 1-3. It’s like your acknowledging of Zappa
The Residents are the gold standard for "Weirdness in music". I believe I saw a snippet from one of their videos, but a pity they weren't mentioned.

I agree, but otherwise the video was really good and interesting!!! Loved it and keep going!
Nice little list for people from outside of the music world but my pick for level 4 would be 100% "The Shaggs - Philosophy of the World"
As a music nerd, I appreciate these videos so much
Awesome video. Happy New Year!
NIce intro to less mainstream pop xD
Would be nice to have snippets of the actual music.
Some snippets of the music referenced would have been really illustrative, kind of show don't tell, or show and tell in this case
We need a list of artists to listen to!
Hey stranger. Try LustSickPuppy, 3L3D3P, Clowncore, and Eartheater.

Far and away the strangest band I have been digging recently is Back Dice, they are amazing
awesome video bro
3:42 Is that a young John Goodman?
Homie please put a battery in that thing. If you can script, record and Al edit a video, you have enough time to fix the smoke detector lol
wheres the mike patton/ me bungle appretiation
it's too mainstream :P
@ Bro california and pattons proyects with john zorn are a must for avant garde and just weird
