I want the equivalent of USTCC-- US Touring Car Championship a la JTCC or BTCC or whatever. ACTUAL road cars with high homologation requirements. Like take a freaking 2022 camry/civic/escape/bolt/model 3/jetta/whatever, remove interior, add safety stuff, and tune the shit out of the stock motor. Include hybrids and electrics-- just let 'em go wild as long as it's the original frame/unibody and block. That'd be so fun. Add restrictions on fuel and/or tires to keep things fair and encourage efficiency/power balance. I wish I had a bajillion dollars to fund such a thing.

@@mymarsrobot40 I think F1 is the peak of race engineering. Stock car racing as to be moulded and based around a existing model (which is okay) but I think theres something to be said about a competition where the best overall (cornering and straights) cars are allowed to race. I get Nascar has toyed with circuit racing but itll never be what F1 is. F1 is global. Its one of the most luxurious sports in the world where as Nascar is seen as "working class" (I say that just becuase of the reality of the sport, both realities suck. If I, the son of an immigrant working class would have wanted to race F1, it would have been impossible - which sucks...) But F1 will always be more interesting. I know its a running joke, but the left turn reality of Nascar just takes away so much of what racing is about. You make moves in the corners, something about going 150-200km/h through a corner and taking someeone over is thrilling to me, that nascar cant provide. I just find F1 to be much more exilerating, the drivers are the best in the world (in my opinion) and the racing is always class. I know politcs play a role, richest teams often compete for the top spots, but hopefully there will be more disparity next year with the new cars. Sorry I rambled lol, nobody will read this but that was just my opinion. I do appreciate your sentitment though. Like what you like, love what you love. Maybe just call a spade a spade and change the name of this show to Science Garage. I think we can accept Bart's gone for good at this stage, and with someone as good as Jeremiah instead it's a very worthy replacement for original Science Garage. And then also get *actual* Bumper to Bumper back on, and look at some real physical goddamn cars from one bumper to the other, like you used to.
Or, alternate. One week is sciencey and themed, the next is what makes a particular car interesting. Doesn't have to be a super awesome car, either, it could be a piece of shit (a final model Thunderbird would be a great subject for this) and the episode is about why it's a piece of shit; with the awesome hosts Donut has, that could be very entertaining. Maybe have the sciencey episode play into the following car tour, e.g. the week after Jerry talks twinchargers, we look at a twincharged car.
Or maybe Up To Speed ought to take the role of oldschool Bumper to Bumper. When James is talking about a great car's story, he can give us a tour of it at the same time, not unlike Jason Cammisa's Revelations series on Hagerty (except James is funnier).

You're welcome to go watch those instead of watching the current stuff. @@simracing4simpletons978 NASCAR is dead... talk about repeating yourself. It has had it's roots poisoned by corporations and PC groups. Believe what you want, but they've shit the bed and ruined a once great sport of the people.
The only bad take is the cumulative series of bad decisions that NASCAR has made over the years, and you running your mouth thinking you speak for true life-long NASCAR fans.
If I had to guess, you are as woke as the rest of these idiots that have commandeered and ruined a once great racing league.
Your opinion means nothing... The true spirit NASCAR has been dying since before you were born.

I love Nascar AND Formula. Both for different reasons. Grew up a hard core Nascar fan so I can appreciate the difficulty of turning left non-nascar fans wont understand. Yet. When I saw the logistical dance the Formula series has to perform on top of the highly technicality of the car, hooked me on a different level Nascar can. But they are both fun to watch.

I'm not a fan. But I can imagine that turning left, while racing like a maniac (it's so tight and crowdy!!) At 250km/h can be "a bit" tricky :P
Where I live in Poland we have "żużel".
It's also an oval speedway but on motocross and not on tarmac but on special kind of slag (mostly from from the coal mine :)
It's very popular also in Czech republic, UK, Denmark and Sweden.

I am one of the people that watch NASCAR and F1, and I wish F1 has more tire fall off. Since the Next Gen car, I have not seen more tire fall at all, so not sure where you got that info from. Your video was really great with so much about the new car, well done.

I will come back and watch NASCAR, as soon as they change the definition of “stock car” to something which is at least remotely related to actual stock cars. Because right now “stock” means “completely custom and the polar opposite of stock”.

Do you really want to see a stock front wheel drive Camry racing in Nascar? Unless you're talking about luxury brands or the Mustang, it's a front wheel drive wasteland out there. The Camaro barely counts because it barely sells.

Are they going to offer different compounds for grip/life, and require teams to run each provided? That would put some more strategy besides timing pit stops, bc one team might want to get out ahead to start the race, while another may save the super stickies for the end of the race scramble.
