They eat mostly yellow jackets and baldface hornets.
I've seen the bald face hornets eat more yellow jackets at the honeybee feeding station. The European Hornets are mostly on the honeybees from what I see here in my area!

Even a blind squirrel can find a nut every once in awhile!
It would be interesting to see the nest constructed inside that limb.
I know but unfortunately it will probably stay once I get rid of them and seal up the hole.
