Now as of 2023: 501 kg (1,105 lb) WR 480 kg (1,058 lb) Raw w/straps PR 474 kg (1,045 lb) Elephant Bar WR First man to rep 1,000 lb 13 times over 1,000 lb (highest in history) 410 kg (904 lb) Powerlifting PR *THE STRONGEST AND THE GREATEST DEADLIFTER OF ALL TIME!!!*
ilvonful Well i woudn't fare to well. First because i am a 14 year old boy and second because im simply not qualified for the job. I didn't search to work as a guy holding barrels, But if i did i would make sure that i could get it right.. I don't need to be better myself to say that he didn't do his job. Shame on you!
jacob verona I was with you when I had only seen your argument (which is valid), but after seeing the video I have to disagree with you on the whole. The lift simply wasn't high enough, he was pushing against the side of the barrel, not even using leverage, just pushing against it. It's unlikely that even another strongman could stop a strongman WITH a 200 kilo piece of weight. The man did his job just fine, the lift simply wasn't high enough.
i wanted eddie to compete in more contest, i feel like he's the most entertaining to watch lift because of his prepping. most everyone of his lifts look so easy
429 was the WR about 10 years ago before Bolton and Magnusson started duking it out. Even freakier the squat all time record, which has gone from 400 kilos or so, just 5-10 years ago, to 490 kg (that is RAW without wraps).
quangfps There are 7 various governing bodies that cover Power Lifting across the globe. And none of them can really agree on that qualifies as "biggest lift ever" as things like age, and weight class, suit and strap, are all taken into account. But currently, he is listed as holding the "official record" for deadlift regardless of discipline. He gained the record in the Arnold Strongman Classic in 2014, lifting 1102 lbs. Then beat his own record with a lift of 1015 lbs. (At MHP Clash of the Titans) Then beat it again here with a lift of 1016 lbs. As these are Strap and 1-Ply lifts, it doesn't fall under "RAW" lift category. There though, he also holds a world record of 981 lbs. And is listed as the WPO Powerlifting Association world record holder for deadlift. So to just roll away the variances and say "he's a record holder for strongman, not in any lifting disciplines" does a serious disservice to a person who is a world record holder across many lifting disciplines.
Michael Baxter what i could hear was, ég get allt ég get allt.. gjörsamlega ósigrandi...in english = i can do everything, i can do everything.. completely unbeatable
Someone translated it, "I can do everything, I can do everything", which he always shouts after deadlifting sth heavy af and sth along the lines of "I am the greatest, unbeatable".
12:43 something toor his lat in his right back shoulder blade. I didn't even know you would use your lats while deadlifting. Those are used for Pull-Ups. I thought it would have been his traps.
You knew the rules before the deadlift but they should have another signal to place down and holding weight after lift and taking interview still holding is what tweak the back eddie.
Okay, so I just came from a video of the WMS finals of 2015 and in that competition Felix was noted as 49.. so either he manged to get 3 years older in 1 time. or someone got the math wrong:p
Its a late reply, but I think he's getting man boobs and alot of fat around his hips which are usually areas where womens bodies store fat due to him stopping to use steroids and other hormonal suplement which is causing his body to probably produce increased amounts of estrogen and theres probably just a general imbalanced hormonal state in his body
No idea. Does anyone else think shaw pulled out because he would struggle in the deadlift and tarnish his reputation? He was never the same after this, the game moved on

2 years later Eddie lifts 500
Holy shit you can literally see his Lat tear at 12:40 !!
***** omg that sht looks horrible.
+Andrew W. watching muscle tears is one of the most vile things haha that must have hurt a lot
and people think sports are healthy for you. when you get injured.
also wtf is the lat. and yeah that shit is hard to watch.
ya that was brutal
Haha too bad steroids don't make ligaments stronger, only muscles ;)
26:27 I was waiting for Thor to say "Well it is my hammer..."
Laurence took that torn lat like a man
14:31 Man in Jack Daniel's shirt was so amazed he forgot how to clap :D
Dominik Duchauffour 😂😂😂
Read your comment just as he popped up on the screen, made me cry 😂
thank you
16:00 funniest and shortest interview ever. 😂
Fucking Eddie told the lady Laurence would win the Super Yoke with a time of 21 seconds cause he wasn't even paying attention when he got hurt xD
My beer can do it, hold me
Weird flex but ok 😂
thats just 1st class comedy..
@@cyberhawk80 1st class sarcasm
Omg when you watch the slow motion replay of Laurence Shahlaei, look closely as his lat, you can actually see it snapping 12:43.
Oh wow, yes. That looks so painful.

Eddie hall doing a interview while holding 435 kg .... best moment in history - Thats how you show everybody that you are on a different level
Yet he got injured in that same event lmao
35:46 onwards is the best moment, you need to watch the full video.
16:00 The best part of the competition. Hands down.
Thor is like Jon Pall Sigmarsson So Entertaining and strong!!
Yes the Viking power goes on!
Kay Karim No, not at all. Thor tries too hard to be like Jon Pall Sigmarsson, it makes me cringe.
flangered hater
flangered Lol ok thor is much stronger though...
Great strongman
Crazy to see how far Thor has come, he failed 435kg here but now as of 2020, he succeeded in deadlifting 480kg! Progress is amazing!
Now as of 2023:
501 kg (1,105 lb) WR
480 kg (1,058 lb) Raw w/straps PR
474 kg (1,045 lb) Elephant Bar WR
First man to rep 1,000 lb
13 times over 1,000 lb (highest in history)
410 kg (904 lb) Powerlifting PR
*THE STRONGEST AND THE GREATEST DEADLIFTER OF ALL TIME!!!*
Hafthor is now pulling 480.. thats awesome to see how far they've come
And now the World Record holder with 501.
I wouldn't ever want The Mountain to get ahold of me in anger, I fear he would make a world record of tossing me across the arena.
Magnus: "They must keep their bottom against the pole."
All of Europe: "Ayeeeee"
the really impressing thing here is that Bjornsson won the hammer discipline...with those long arms actually a huge disadvantage....
Watching deadlift events from a pre-500kg world always makes me smile, in a good way :)
"what did she say"...
16:11 best moment ever 😂

Blind and deaf temporarily, most likely

marshall TYler You could clearly tell she was pissed, the fake laugh afterwards haha.
SHe was talking too fast
what did you say😂
33:55 the guy holding the barrel didn't do his job
jacob verona Let's see you hold the barrel when a 200kg stone + 140 kg man is leaning on it
ilvonful Well i woudn't fare to well. First because i am a 14 year old boy and second because im simply not qualified for the job. You think there was an interview for "guy holding barrel"?
They probably just picked some tougher guy out of the carrying crew
***** Thanks :)

Martin Wildauer taking 3rd in the deadlift and he wasn't even shown once, the only man to not even get a short replay, smh.

Class act by Eddie Hall.
7:52 definition of badass
ceylonin Then 2 years later goes on to do the same thing with 500kg!
I think Eddy could do 500KG, his form and drive looks on point.
12:40 you can see his lat snap
Did they screw over Mark Felix's points from the loading race? He came in second on that and the scoreboard had him 5th.
Crazy that 460 was a wr back then
429 was the WR about 10 years ago before Bolton and Magnusson started duking it out.

How much does a deadlift suit help?
Not sure about the deadlift suit ,but the squat suit definitely does , Thor lost out on his first wsm as he choice to go without one .
usually 50-70lbs but some lifters Ive known have gotten 100+ out of a deadlift suit
I miss Zydrunas Svaickas ... :D
Damn Terry looks bad here. Looks so much better at 2021. Body fat % makes a huge difference.
