I've seen the map. It's significantly bigger than Limgrave even if we look at just the horizontal size. It looked like Liurnia+Caelid at first glance. But a reviewer said some parts of the world have like 5 layers vertically which is obviously not really visible on the map. Stormveil Castle is like a tiny spec on the map even though it also has tons of layers and you could get lost for 3 hours easily on your first playthrough.

Making the "mini sequel" to Elden Ring as a big, and relatively expensive, DLC is a pretty good idea. The devs can reuse the same engine as is, while concentrating on just making new content. Also, who's ready for 18 inches of Messmer?/.

Somehow, I managed to platinum Elden Ring (which I'm still quite proud of as I'm 58 and it was my first Soulsborne game :D) However, I haven't played in over a year - and I picked up the controller yesterday in anticipation of the DLC... and couldn't remember ANYTHING - aarrghhh! Can't wait to play - but also feel like there's no point in even getting the DLC until I've spent a few weeks getting back up to speed!

Adult Miquella the hyped up character simply sits on radahn during the final duo boss battle. Also the final boss battle is reskinned radahn. However there is hope. Elden ring has an ongoing manga called road to erdtree . The manga could give us an original ending to the dlc which is better than the original dlc trash ending. Me when I heard the leaks: No I don’t want that radahn being the final boss, I want fromsoftware to make good games all their existence for 10 years at least.
The best thing they did to the original game was replacing the white Bandai Namco screen with black! honestly it used to hurt my eyes every time I started the game, Thank you Elden Gods!!!!!
Miyazaki did say they redesigned the caves and catacombs to be more seamless, instead of the copy/paste catacomb entrances and caves. So, from what I understand... you could be going into a catacomb and not even notice until you're already inside. I can't wait, looks so epically great!!
A guy in another video said it took him only 15 hours to go through most of the DLC. All that for FORTY DOLLARS. Hard pass unless there's a steep discount.
So let me say...as a brand new souls type player that started Elden Ring a few weeks ago, the "things u missed" series was so extremely helpful. I often just used it as a simple guide to come back to after a period of time. However, after all of that and now the upcoming DLC hype, u have earned a new subscriber. Im eternally excited for this DLC, so much so that i placed my first ever preorder, and will be following the channel as things progress. Thank u Dom for all of ur help thru the lands between, and now further beyond
Looking forward to new cookbooks, the character I primarily play is based on me and heavily focused on exploration in gameplay, and I also found out why basically nobody gets Radahn's Great Rune... I'm also looking forward to the new weapons, because I found out last night that your Mimic Tear can be heavily manipulated based on the weapons and spell you have equipped, so I can set them to tank the boss while I apply status effects and wear them down. I am a monster, quality builds are bad for your health, kids.

I got the confirmation bias for this game lmao. if you collect all of the dragon hearts in the game including the ones added in the dlc, do you get a new dragon form? i believe someone who played the dlc said they got invaded by an npc whos character had a dragon transformation

Needless to say, i am INCREDIBLY bad at these games despite being utterly besotted by them. Question is: what is the difficulty like, and what progress do you need to have prior to going in? The hyperbole around how much Martin actually contributed still amazes me to this day. He really didn't do much at all other than write a backstory that was used as an inspiration for Miyazaki and his team. Everything that's in the game has been greatly altered from the way Martin had presented it. He wrote absolutely none of the lore that's in the game as well, because what he wrote took place thousands of years before the events in the game. All of the characters were radically changed too from the way he envisioned them. Martin gave them an idea, and they're the ones that made it come to fruition, not him. He just turned the ignition.
he wrote the entire history of the lands between and miyazaki brought it into the present, don't underestimate how much history there is. Both Quelaag and msChalice went over this in their own ways.

That item which casts Golden Vow is going to piss off a lot of people, including me. People who chose the Prophet class for most their characters when min maxing stats and now suddenly the Prophet is no longer the best class for any build. I mean, no matter what build, many people chose the Prophet, because you needed 25 faith to get golden vow, so pretty much any build would need that much faith, which is the reason the prophet was a good starting class. At least they could have given us more slots than 10 character slots..
Does it matter if your in a NG when it comes to the difficulty or is it solely based on getting the seeds or not? I am in NG4 now and hoping that does not ramp up the difficulty in the DLC.
I'm just here to mention that if anyone is being charged multiple times for their collectors edition, Bandai Namco places pre authorization holds to make sure payment is valid, then fully charge you when the item ships. Wish this info was included.

Yup the reused enemies/bosses issue still existing keeps this from objectively being a 10/10. this isn‘t a nitpick but a fundamental issue which I hope they‘ll learn from in their next title. Idc how many bosses or hype-phrases there are, fighting the exact same boss again in the field is a waste of time and cheapens the experience with each repeat. It‘s a way to stretch out the size of the game when it really doesn‘t have to. They coulda settled with making the space a lil smaller and cutting reused bosses down accordingly, introduce Bonfireascetics back into the series for reviving bosses instead.
I'm really sorry I am not allowed to divulge anything even remotely related to spoilers, especially lore, but i will say I loved everything the DLC had to offer, including the final boss! 🤩
Dom do you think lol 230 on NG+3 is too much of a challenge for the DLC? I'm good at the game but I'm definitely not a pro so I'm nervous about the difficulty spike
I still have a long time before I can access the DLC area (I keep starting over with new characters). Is there anything in the DLC that alters gameplay in the original area that you've seen? Any QoL updates or access to the new weapons or anything, or is it all relegated to the shadow realm?
I saved all my characters I actually never did a new game + & I will once I beat the DLC & can do all the content in new game +. I've got 4 characters to chose from for the DLC. My plan has been to use my original playthrough character which is probably my worst build however it's not a bad build I just did old school dark souls with that build an old school dexterity build. Can't wait!
The leaks kinda gave it away but the guy playing in the leaks was overpowered AF, Spammed rot and Destined Death attacks while his mimic drew all the attention from the boss and used a blood Antspur Rapier on him, Boss itself looks cool AF, Attacks looked insane, Have no clue why people are hating on the boss itself, It seems like it'll be incredible one on one. Also I wouldn't be worried cause in another reply he stated that he thought the final boss was incredible. Pretty much every reviewer I've asked has been hella hype for that final boss, Only negatives I've seen for it is that he may be TOO hard, More than a couple have stated he's the hardest boss in all of Souls.
Having not played in a couple years I was looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. Unfortunately I lost my saves and had to start from scratch. Not the end of the world as I was able to get some choice gear and level quickly. I finally got past Radahn and Mohg, so I will be able to access the DLC on release. That makes me wonder if you can get some of those new weapons and bring them back to the base game. Good times ahead.
never understood the bosses critics, for me the only bosses in the game are the remembrance ones, the other are all literally just common enemies that fromsoft decided to put with a big health bar at the bottom because it looks cooler.
What about "surprise" enemies like the nobles that turn into runebears in base game? Do they make a return in the DLC? Or enemies that only spawn during certain conditions like night cavalry and deathbirds?

Mine took WAAYYY longer than the average person because I'm focussing on getting EVERY tiny little thing for the upcoming things you missed series, it took me over 100 hours, but I'd say for the average player it's closer to 50 😊

The thing about boss/enemy reskins is this is one world. Obviously you will see the same enemies as in the base game and different areas.

Pretty much everything can be taken to the base game, excluding the scadutree fragments and revered spirit ashes as they are DLC only

Neither of them sets beat the Bullgoat, however there is a new set that does, but the name escapes me!

Dom can you at least tell us if the final boss will look like the leaks in the end of if that was just an early build or fake?
I cannot provide any information on leaks that have recently surfaced on Reddit due to the NDA I have signed, sorry! I basically cannot give any information on story/lore/bosses until the game is released on Thursday!

It could be cuz some ppl on Reddit got review copy’s and talked about it tdy (separate from the leaks) and described it, but at the same time some ppl said stuff about miquella not being an enemy and if you’ve seen the leaks, miquella and radahn are the boss so idk, it may or may not be real.
Can you at least tell us its gonna be janky and reused? 🫠

It's called the Greatsword of Solitude, and it has requirements of 27 Str and 13 Dex 😊
I'm gonna be entering the dlc on ng+3 at level 260. do u think the enemy scaling would be so much harder? or should i start a fresh gameplay? ( but i dont think i'd have time before the dlc drops)
At 260 you might be OK but I do think it will be harder than base game!

Yup the reused enemies/bosses issue still existing keeps this from objectively being a 10/10.
this isn‘t a nitpick but a fundamental issue which I hope they‘ll learn from in their next title.
Idc how many bosses or hype-phrases there are, fighting the exact same boss again in the field is a waste of time and cheapens the experience with each repeat.
It‘s a way to stretch out the size of the game when it really doesn‘t have to.
They coulda settled with making the space a lil smaller and cutting reused bosses down accordingly, introduce Bonfireascetics back into the series for reviving bosses instead.

There has been confirmation from other reviewers that there more in the dlc. Be careful though. They are still very finite.

Dom do you think lol 230 on NG+3 is too much of a challenge for the DLC? I'm good at the game but I'm definitely not a pro so I'm nervous about the difficulty spike
The DLC is tough, if you van level up more but stay on NG+3 I would recommend it, or if you can start a new playthrough 😊

I still have a long time before I can access the DLC area (I keep starting over with new characters). Is there anything in the DLC that alters gameplay in the original area that you've seen? Any QoL updates or access to the new weapons or anything, or is it all relegated to the shadow realm?
all items can be used in base game, it's just the blessings that only affect the dlc. i don't see why this would be anything different.

I saved all my characters I actually never did a new game + & I will once I beat the DLC & can do all the content in new game +. I've got 4 characters to chose from for the DLC. My plan has been to use my original playthrough character which is probably my worst build however it's not a bad build I just did old school dark souls with that build an old school dexterity build. Can't wait!
The caves, not the larger dungeons or tunnels, were the most repetitive aspect of the base game. I'm glad to hear they've been cut down.
What were your opinions on the final boss? Not asking who it is just did you enjoy it? And how difficult was it?
The leaks kinda gave it away but the guy playing in the leaks was overpowered AF, Spammed rot and Destined Death attacks while his mimic drew all the attention from the boss and used a blood Antspur Rapier on him, Boss itself looks cool AF, Attacks looked insane, Have no clue why people are hating on the boss itself, It seems like it'll be incredible one on one. Also I wouldn't be worried cause in another reply he stated that he thought the final boss was incredible. Pretty much every reviewer I've asked has been hella hype for that final boss, Only negatives I've seen for it is that he may be TOO hard, More than a couple have stated he's the hardest boss in all of Souls.
Having not played in a couple years I was looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. Unfortunately I lost my saves and had to start from scratch. Not the end of the world as I was able to get some choice gear and level quickly. I finally got past Radahn and Mohg, so I will be able to access the DLC on release. That makes me wonder if you can get some of those new weapons and bring them back to the base game. Good times ahead.
Were there any larval tears in the dlc area? I’m gonna need some and I don’t want to have to play through the base game again just to get into the dlc
Other reviews confirmed there’s more in the dlc. They’re still finite though. So don’t gorge on them.

never understood the bosses critics, for me the only bosses in the game are the remembrance ones, the other are all literally just common enemies that fromsoft decided to put with a big health bar at the bottom because it looks cooler.
What level were you at the start of your play through?
First playthrough I was level 150, second I was level 200 - I definitely found the level 200 playthrough less of a challenge, but not by MUCH

What about "surprise" enemies like the nobles that turn into runebears in base game? Do they make a return in the DLC? Or enemies that only spawn during certain conditions like night cavalry and deathbirds?

The manga original ending theory.
The Elden ring dlc ending sucks and is underwhelming according to leaks and reviews. Adult Miquella the hyped up character simply sits on radahn during the final duo boss battle. Also the final boss battle is reskinned radahn.
However there is hope. Elden ring has an ongoing manga called road to erdtree . The manga could give us an original ending to the dlc which is better than the original dlc trash ending.
Me when I heard the leaks:
No I don’t want that radahn being the final boss, I want fromsoftware to make good games all their existence for 10 years at least.

It's not bigger than the base game, but to make sure you have explored literally every nook and cranny like I have, it can easily take 200 hours 😊

How long was your first full playthrough?
Mine took WAAYYY longer than the average person because I'm focussing on getting EVERY tiny little thing for the upcoming things you missed series, it took me over 100 hours, but I'd say for the average player it's closer to 50 😊
