Dr Robb used to be my physics teacher. He used to set a fire extinguisher off next to our ears if we talked in class...I find his playing a much more sonorous ex[erience!
Pete Cooper calls this heterophony. It lies at the heart of this music and means that players hold on to their sense of individuality within the unison. True, it is very far from the smooth blend of the trained musician but that is a characteristic of the internalisation and personalization of the traditional process. Heterophonic certainly, messy OK - but that is as insightful as calling Blue Stilton smelly and mouldy.
Just beautiful
Beautiful - I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that set. Very well done folks!
