Coming here at server shutdown.... Lots of emotions. Love this game - it's one of my all-time favorites. It's so sad to see EA abandon this franchise, but I'm glad it's at least singleplayer, so we can always return to it offline, even if the multiplayer functionality is gone. End of an era. This game was a part of my life when I needed the escape the most. Thanks to everyone who worked on it, and thanks to everyone who ran with us. We may no longer be able to run together, but we're still running.

Mass Effect 3 Sim City Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition Star Wars Battlefront I will forgive EA for everything that is wrong with all of them, If Mirror's Edge: Catalyst turns out to be good.
+Dark Tenka Besides the ending what was wrong with Mass Effect 3? You can blame Bioware's writers for being pretentious for that one anyway. And what was wrong with Inquisition?
MxMoondoggie ME3: Glitch Heavy and unpolished on release, Day 1 DLC. The inclusion of of multiplayer was completely unnecessary and obviously had an impact on development. I actually still enjoyed it despite its flaws, but the disparity between Mass Effect 2 and 3 is very real. ME2 was pretty much a perfect game, quality took a nose-dive in ME3 by comparison.
+MxMoondoggie Inquisition: story was great sure.. but the gameplay was a complete flop. They claimed so much through development to be "respecting PC players" and yet on release the tactical mode was and still is to this day completely unplayable. They added so many sidequests, but they are all grindy MMO sidequests of gathering 50 bear pelts and such. They also cut the cinematic camera for non main-quest related cut-scenes which made it even more stale. The lack of modding support (since DA2) persists, DA: Origins was one of the best RPG's of all time and half of that was due to its completely open mod-support. Once again, the inclusion of a completely unnecessary multiplayer component obviously had an impact on development.
Now that Bioware is under EA, They are a shadow of what they once were. They used to make heart-felt singleplayer experiences. Now their games lack the same sort of life they once had, almost as if the entire team has lost its soul. Up until Battlefront (and maybe even Battlefield 4 from what I heard) DICE had been the only one to be able to successfully produce great games under EA. But now with Battlefront even the CEO of EA openly said it was intentionally dumbed down because they wanted to aim for a larger demographic.
André Andersson Not really, it depends of the game. If you don't feel emotionally connected to this kind of games you'll quickly feel bored as opposed to having a good story which makes you want to know more about it.

+kiatiming101 It's reboot dude... they said it so many times. They said they picked the story elements that they liked from the first game and removed the ones that they didn't
that part where faith made a huge jump wouldve been so cool if it was in the final game. Nomad's facial expression was so subtly detailed. Thats what the final game needed more time with icarus and nomad just being runners
EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS. First of all Nomad was really severely underused. I think he only appeared in ONE mission at the beginning of the game and then we haven’t seen him again at all!! But also Icarus needed a bigger role too. Btw there is also another cutscene in this trailer where Icarus and Nomad are running away from some goons (0:38), I dont think thats in the game either.
@@DarkChris96 actually, it IS different but in a good way. I mean the first one was not developed that well in terms of storyline. It was great at storytelling but not the writing. Kate really was just another Princess Peach for example. The overall lore was almost non-existent. It felt like one of Michael Bay movies. Now imagine a sequel to Catalyst with those animations like in the original but with the lore and gameplay of... well... catalyst. I bet that will be a mind-blowing experience. Add some new gameplay features and this will be the game of the decade candidate. It has great potential. Too bad EA will never give a green light to that bold move. Cuz EA now is a business corporation, not a game company that actually cares about quality rather than just cash.

One thing that worries me is that this Faith sounded very whiny. The Faith in the original was just cold badass most of the time. Let's hope it was only in those few scenes.

8 years after the release of Catalyst, and 16 YEARS after the release of the original game, I can confidently say… the amazing franchise of Mirror’s Edge has been forgotten by EA 😞😞😞
The voice acting is pretty damn good. I have a feeling the Chinese guy will be the standout. I loved his opening lines and when he screamed at Faith, it was pretty scary, you could actually tell just how angry he was.
+hamster12512 Everyone seems to be having a go at Faith in this trailer. Clearly, they're all scared by the fact that she stole something from Kruger....
Honestly, the reboot was much needed. The story and characters in Mirror's Edge 1 was so bland and typical, Faith had almost 0 depth to her, none of the other main characters were interesting and everything was presented in a very boring way (cartoon cinematics). Loved playing through this game from start to finish. To me it's a improved Mirror's Edge 1 but I think to alot of people, nostalgia will always be the winner and some will prefer the first one. I love them both anyways and it's nice to see that it's becoming a franchise. (hopefully not a milked one)
@Ganjie Aalekara this is like veryy old im sorry lol but Celeste actually Is in Catalyst! In the Travel Diary recordings i believe she and someone else ran off to i think Omnistat. One of the AI runners (forgot which one, i think the one in the Regatta Bay safe house) mentions Celeste leaving

I am just noticing at 0:38 Nomad and Icarus are in kingdom. That would've been awesome if that is how the mission was originally going to go, instead of Faith going by herself. Man this trailer has so many cut things, I would love to see them!
This is giving me chills, so powerful, so emotional. I love Mirror's Edge, a sense of freedom, liberation and something i never got from any other game! Can't wait!
EA I’m begging you make mirrors edge 3. This series means so much to so many people and deserves so much more. Yes catalyst wasn’t exactly a perfect game and didn’t sell extremely well, but that doesn’t mean the series is a failure, just needs more attention. Fix all the shit wrong with catalyst (lousy story, awful characters, poorly designed open world etc) and you’ll be on the right track.
I can't believe it is 7 years now since the game was released. I remember when I first watch this trailer with friend in school. We havd no words. The graphics was toooo realistic to us to understand what is happening :D. Now in 2023 I hit super nostalgic vibe. The game is so unique, the visual, desing, gameplay, everything. It's not a pergect game but is is super good. Now I need to play it again. Please make a sequel EA.
As a big fan of the franchise, I am really confused as to how the trailers where SO GOOD at storytelling. And how the actual game... fell short. They have so so so much potential for a sequel in which they focus actually on that. On a dramatic (yet realistic) story with the message of "resisting the corporate dictatorship". Focusing on making Faith interact with day-to-day characters (like maybe regular citizens) and not just jumping from main mission to main mission to make it interesting. I think that is what they lacked really. An example that really got this right would be the game "Remember Me" by Don't Nod. They can really achieve this, and Im sure it would reach an overhaul in sales and positive criticism by the gaming community. 😊 The actual gameplay was 9/10. Let's be real (maybe the combat dynamics had some flaws). But it really wasnt about graphics or the overall gameplay. The problem with this title was the vague story, which btw DICE actually had put a lot of detail into it, yet it didn't show in the final version. So they don't even need to create an extremely different title. Just one that really explores that story of the authoritarian "city-state", its international relations (with OmniStat) and... you know. The fight between each corporation to dominate the market. The suffering caused to ordinary people... That's what we needed to see, rather than extreme direct confrontation with Gabriel Kruger.
I can't believe people is complaining about the game... I have waited for years for this game! We are finally able to play it again, with new and amazing graphics.... looks amazing and I surely know that it will be awesome!
So I guess I'm here for the same reason you are. You scrolled, saw this thumbnail in 2024, and just had to open it. Welcome....to Nostalgia neighborhood.
+GamingForDays RAW I've been waiting for a game like Mirror's Edge. Still not sure if this is such a game or if it's an errand running simulator like Skyrim/Fallout. It all depends on whether the open world is actually fully accessible (at least the roofs and facades, not the insides of buildings obviously). I want to have access to the streets, as well. If they put invisible walls everywhere and arbitrarily prevent you from doing things that look doable (climbing somewhere that looks like you could climb it) then the whole open world aspect is pointless and they should go back to linear maps for the next one. We'll see.
The original Mirror's Edge was great, but Mirror's Edge Catalyst was incredible. Absolutely love it. I _really_ wish DICE would release an enhancement update for the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro versions, and add a 4K UI option for all three versions.
What I love most about this trailer are the two sentences at the bottom of the screen in little red letters. "Captured in-engine. Representative of game experience." :) +MirrorsEdge
Hm, looks great but I hope Faith's character is not changed that much. I loved how badass she sounded in the original, and from the trailer she looks like she's being yelled at by every single character while barely getting a word in o.O I get the feeling the original Faith would have walked away after the first sentence or punched them in the face.
+katerinaFM This is the origins of Faith, and in this game you will most likely have to prove yourself to all those people... Not to mention that the first game doesn't matter, because this is a reboot.
+katerinaFM Kinda agree with you. I loved that it was only Merc and bad ass Faith before. Plus she looks (in my opinion) too...hmm how do I express myself right...hot? I mean she looks like a model or something, dont rly like what they did to her hair and her clothes. Wonder why they changed voice actress aswell.
I am worried. The trailer is mostly explosions, people yelling, and violence. The original Mirror's Edge was mostly about the flow of free running, and the unique aesthetic (clean, bright) of the world. Looks like EA is dumping what made the game unique, and changing it into yet another Battlefield clone. The 8 year-olds in this comments section will be glad.
+Tim Suetens How could the aesthetic be any cleaner and brighter than in this trailer ? Also, there is nothing in this trailer that points towards Battlefield. At all. It's not going to be like the original, yes, but Battlefield ? Come on.
there's barely explosions and barely shooting but more hand combat which the original had, stop being a idiot this doesn't look like a battlefield clone at all
Well your opinion is valid don't fully agree because adding story to a game which already flows could be a good thing, the last games story had all animations this one has more cg cutscenes, I think the thing is to wait and see but much respect to your opinion
what a stupid comment about it being battlefield. This game looks better than the first and more. the asthetic and flow is even better, the e3 trailer has got more flow in it than the first game itself. This is their game, they can only make it better.
Ok I want clear some things up 1:this is a reboot,so faith is gonna be different 2:the story is needed in this game,it's funny in the last game people complained about the lack of story... Finally I think it's going to be good ,graphics-amazing,story-looks good,gameplay-amazing,voice acting-ok and music-beautiful
EA...Just looking at this logo scares the living crap outta me. I know you guys just love to put BS microtransactions in your games, but for the love of God don't include them in Mirror's Edge. Pretty Please?
+Acertive Pillow It's like you need a micro-transaction just to push the start button now a days! Also do arcades count as micro-transactions from back in the 80's and 90's?
They should do a trailer where when the guy says prove it, she fps runs off the side of the roof, and it pans out to a player who throws his controller and starts swearing. Then they could call it a gameplay trailer.
How come this is better than the actual story? Also I would have loved it if those sentinels or whatever they're called would chase you in the open world, like the pursuit cops from the original mirror's edge
2016 was a good year for me. This game came out after I graduated high school. I enjoyed the atmosphere of this game and everything about it. I also fell in love with someone. Fast forward to now, I'm currently single and trying to figure out life. It's hard, butI hope they make another game.
Such a bummer we won’t get a continuation of this story. Dying light seems to be taking the runner parkour story arc now. What a waste. Mirrors edge 2 was beautiful. Messy and unfinished thanks to EA. But still good.
Well, they already pretty much nailed the gameplay last time, so why not? They took away the guns and are spending the rest of their time improving what they can.
maybe thats why the first mirror edge didn't sell well because the story was weak, so it looks like on this, they taking a chance which is good because I been waiting for another mirror edge game for 8 years since 2008.
Wtf are you talking about, the game wasn't even based about "not being a multiplayer". It's just like every other game it had its story and probably multiplayer. If you're even in the first place playing any game nowadays just for multiplayer, then you're your own kind of specie.
To everyone complaining Faith seems different in this game: She's YOUNGER than she was in the original. This game is going back to her roots as a young runner. I personally think the change in personality is a nice touch as it shows us that she's matured after catalyst into the person she was in the original.
So far the only characters I know that are returning are Faith, Celeste, and Erika Connors, two of which don't seem to make any appearances in-game. This is a bit worrying since the original had some great chemistry between a few of the characters... I'll miss Kate, Miller, and Merc.
Let’s hope for Mirror’s Edge 3 to release in 2024, 8 years after Catalyst, there was an 8 year gap between the original and Catalyst, so let’s hope for the same for Catalyst to ME3
Man, I'm in need for a sequel. This game is amazing.
Fr man
I really hope that EA won't get rid of the Mirror's Edge franchise. It means so much to me and you fans out there, but commercial wise both games were not that successful. Mex a remaster of the original would be nice. With some added features to the game too.
I almost had a brain aneurism trying to read your comment..
I love if they did that why I'm making episode of this game for my Chnnl
@@cheezuschrist why is that? 😂
@Axion I know right
I'm kind of confused.. Faith seems so different in this game. I'm still so excited. The graphics look spotless and the parkour, amazing.
She's different because they changed her a bit. Rebooting the game let's you do that.
+DChief89 I found her boring in the original game to be honest, though the first game in general was a bit cliche to begin with
I meant strictly storywise, gameplay wise it was very innovative with the parkour mechanics and first person gameplay
+DChief89 well the gameplay was a nice idea, but the story was very shallow and barely there

The Chinese guy is dogen from the mirror's edge comics.
+hamster12512 "hey um is that all-" *WHAT ELSE IS THERE*
should be a direct to on-demand movie trailer
its 2023, i still play this amazing game
Who else came back in 2021 to see how much potential this game could have had
is the game bad?
@@ethansadhoursatpepes2882 it is a really good game but the storyline is still half done. The storyline still is subpar but gameplay is good
@@MatthewRumble too be fair the first games story isnt exactly that great either
@@ethansadhoursatpepes2882 true but it had that aesthetic and nostalgia thats more memorable than the second version
@@MatthewRumble I thought the story was great tbh
I love the cutscenes. They just need to make a movie on this. I'd be happy with that.
Good thing that the OST is being made by Solar Fields again.
edit: This was confirmed by Solar Fields on their Facebook page.
+RegularJohn53 He;'s a genius. It was thanks to him doing the first game I discovered a while genre of music I'd been looking for and didn't even know it was out there.
+RegularJohn53 He;'s a genius. It was thanks to him doing the first game I discovered a while genre of music I'd been looking for and didn't even know it was out there.
Yeah it was one of the first Ambient band I started listening to.
+RegularJohn53 yessssssssss
+RegularJohn53 Oh Thank God! The thing I loved the most about the first Mirror's Edge was the OST.
I am just noticing at 0:38 Nomad and Icarus are in kingdom. That would've been awesome if that is how the mission was originally going to go, instead of Faith going by herself. Man this trailer has so many cut things, I would love to see them!
In pre-alpha, Icarus and Faith went to save Noah, and in the original, Faith herself went to the Kingdom to save Noah.
@@vladslp7943 would've liked to save Noah tho, was way to obvious Noah would die
Never realized how much of the game was spoiled in this trailer hahaha
This is giving me chills, so powerful, so emotional. I love Mirror's Edge, a sense of freedom, liberation and something i never got from any other game! Can't wait!
ahh, i remember this trailer blew my mind when i was 13
those were different days. both these games still rock
EA I’m begging you make mirrors edge 3. This series means so much to so many people and deserves so much more. Yes catalyst wasn’t exactly a perfect game and didn’t sell extremely well, but that doesn’t mean the series is a failure, just needs more attention. Fix all the shit wrong with catalyst (lousy story, awful characters, poorly designed open world etc) and you’ll be on the right track.
music still gets me im never going to regret getting faiths tattoo on my arm
I NEED a sequel EA PLEASE
Based
I can't believe it is 7 years now since the game was released.
I love the chemistry between Dogan and Faith. It's just magical and makes up the game.
The actual gameplay was 9/10.
We are finally able to play it again, with new and amazing graphics.... looks amazing and I surely know that it will be awesome!
mirrors edge for me is a dream come true
even takes me back when i first played the game
Mann i want this game to come back, i miss this
15 Years guys ... and it still looks good ! ... imagine a Remastered with 4k texture and Ray tracing
So I guess I'm here for the same reason you are. You scrolled, saw this thumbnail in 2024, and just had to open it.
Welcome....to Nostalgia neighborhood.
I've been waiting for this game since the last one. Any OG Mirror's Edge fans up in here? (:
+GamingForDays RAW Up top !
o/
+GamingForDays RAW I've been waiting for a game like Mirror's Edge. Still not sure if this is such a game or if it's an errand running simulator like Skyrim/Fallout. It all depends on whether the open world is actually fully accessible (at least the roofs and facades, not the insides of buildings obviously). I want to have access to the streets, as well. If they put invisible walls everywhere and arbitrarily prevent you from doing things that look doable (climbing somewhere that looks like you could climb it) then the whole open world aspect is pointless and they should go back to linear maps for the next one. We'll see.
Field of View Definitely (:How
nearly every person in this comment section is a fan of the original game, WHY THE HELL YOU ASKIN?
Amen brother!! 😊😊One of my favorite ps3 games!!
Watching Catalyst trailers always gives me goosebumps
But, if it's a prequel. Then why is everything more futuristic, than the first game? Also, i want still alive back..
Reboot*
+Jack Rowlands it's a reeboot? Typical ea..
It's half prequel half reboot. A preboot
+robo4evar no? DICE said themselves it's not a prequel at all, just a reboot
+robo4evar damn.. I hope it will live up too the original..
Gabriel Kruger is an anagram for A Rub Rigger Elk. The story is so much clearer now! I'm onto you Rub Rigger Elk!!! You can't stop me!
HAHAHAHAHA LMFAO "prepare yourself rubbing elk elf silk rubber band!"
Muahahahahahahahaha >:D
What does it mean?
The original Mirror's Edge was great, but Mirror's Edge Catalyst was incredible. Absolutely love it.
I _really_ wish DICE would release an enhancement update for the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro versions, and add a 4K UI option for all three versions.
What did she use to kickglitch off of to clear that gap at 0:25 ? Oh.. nothing, clearly spliced
lol, i get that joke, saw you commentate the speedrun on AGDQ, and also, var du ikke fra Danmark? ;)
+ImOnABearMotherf***** Yes, i was the commentator! Indeed i am from Denmark :)
"Representative of game experience"
So I can sue them if they do a graphical downgrade?
Why not, just look at Ubisoft.
*cough* the division *cough*
+sgtfrozty Come on. The division barely changed. No, the real easy target for this ubisoft joke would be Watchdogs.
+ast5515 You can try, but i'm pretty sure EA has a small army of flesh-hungry lawyers at their disposal.
Of course, how could I forget?
EA may be a shitty company but they haven't downgraded any of their games I seen.
What I love most about this trailer are the two sentences at the bottom of the screen in little red letters. "Captured in-engine. Representative of game experience." :) +MirrorsEdge
+Mirror'sEdge
Hm, looks great but I hope Faith's character is not changed that much. I loved how badass she sounded in the original, and from the trailer she looks like she's being yelled at by every single character while barely getting a word in o.O I get the feeling the original Faith would have walked away after the first sentence or punched them in the face.
+katerinaFM Not before she does a Matrix wall run and round house kicks them.
+katerinaFM This is the origins of Faith, and in this game you will most likely have to prove yourself to all those people...
Not to mention that the first game doesn't matter, because this is a reboot.
GiRayne
I am afraid that some TR influence is unavoidable here. But let's hope it's not that similar.
+El Greeko Just because it's a reboot doesn't mean that we can't want some things to stay from the original :P
She was not broken, the game was.
yeah it was broken but you cant lie the art and music is so goodddddd!!!!
2024 Still can't get over this game 2016 ❤
Come back this franchise!...
+Tim Suetens This is a story trailer, not a gameplay trailer.
what a stupid comment about it being battlefield. This game looks better than the first and more. the asthetic and flow is even better, the e3 trailer has got more flow in it than the first game itself. This is their game, they can only make it better.
Still one of my favourite games of all time... God I hope EA and Dice won't forget about Mirror's Edge
They better not pull a Ubisoft on us. Those graphics are insane.
+Skiptro Those are In-engine graphics. This is not gameplay footage actually.
+Skiptro its DICE we are talking about if there is one thing they can do properly its visuals
EA never downgrades their graphics
I get it assassin's Creed unity not to pull ubsoft that's funny let hope not oh god please no no noooooooooooooooo
+Skiptro DICE always delivers best graphics. Look at Battlefront and Battlefield 4.
looks like a solid storyline and step up from the last mirrors edge! Can't wait to game!
+DooM49 is of best graphic and gemplay
+DooM49 Can't wait to see the glitches on your channel
Ok I want clear some things up
1:this is a reboot,so faith is gonna be different
2:the story is needed in this game,it's funny in the last game people complained about the lack of story...
+Tyler Snow Yeah, 7 years ago. Micro-transactions were barely a thing back then.
+Acertive Pillow It's like you need a micro-transaction just to push the start button now a days! Also do arcades count as micro-transactions from back in the 80's and 90's?
+SeboTrzyDe3D you realize it was the same EA that gave us the same game before. Like it or not, without them this game wouldn't exist.
+NeroShade19 we didnt have to buy arcades. just pay an affordable sum to play
+SeboTrzyDe3D "buy the superjump pack now. With those faith can jump even better! It's only 14,99!" [required for last mission]
Absolutely LOVE this game. I demand a sequel! I need to know what happens next!
Yeah I agree tbh
Remember me in 10 years:) can we get a sequel:)
UA-cam algorithm took me back here. I hope this franchise isn’t dead. Because it is #stillalive in my heart :’)
Many shots of this trailer aren't in the game. DLC confirmed.
I'd kill for a chance to go back into the Dogs.
Yeah, that too 8D
Snowdreams17deviantart CrystalRodriguez same you can't even jump that far
let's face it the game was rushed
The one game I want DLC for
Funny, I've seen all of them.
So much whining in the comments. Game looks great, story is great, amazing job guys.
2016 was a good year for me. This game came out after I graduated high school. I enjoyed the atmosphere of this game and everything about it. I also fell in love with someone. Fast forward to now, I'm currently single and trying to figure out life. It's hard, butI hope they make another game.
2016 this is the best year
CoD and Battlefield< Mirror's Edge
Mirrors edge > battlefield and cod
That means the same thing, Kyle.
Hey don't touch my battlefield!
ME&BF1 > CoD
Mirror's Edge is better than Battlefield but i do not compare this game with my favorite Call of Duty.
you guys are like comparing banana to fucking strawberries, they are both good but entirely different, so that comparison does not make sense
I love mirrors edge I played the game when I was six I'm eleven now and I have been waiting patiently for this ITS EPIC AS HELL
It's looks like the prequel. She's unrefined and anxious. Breaking out of the pecking order.
Such a bummer we won’t get a continuation of this story. Dying light seems to be taking the runner parkour story arc now. What a waste. Mirrors edge 2 was beautiful. Messy and unfinished thanks to EA. But still good.
This is a nightmare, why are they putting so much care into the story. This isn't what Mirrors Edge is about
Well, they already pretty much nailed the gameplay last time, so why not? They took away the guns and are spending the rest of their time improving what they can.
why not both :)
maybe thats why the first mirror edge didn't sell well because the story was weak, so it looks like on this, they taking a chance which is good because I been waiting for another mirror edge game for 8 years since 2008.
Wtf are you talking about, the game wasn't even based about "not being a multiplayer". It's just like every other game it had its story and probably multiplayer. If you're even in the first place playing any game nowadays just for multiplayer, then you're your own kind of specie.
+GhostyGump Wtf do you mean "what mirrors edge is about" It's only the second game.
So faith is immune to getting cut by broken glass? I guess that makes sense since she's also bulletproof in this game...
LEVOLUUUUUUUUUUUTION
+Zoutepoel ... No?
You mean revolution?
+TheMcpe Catalyst No, "Levolution" is the real-time system in Battlefield 4, which can change some elements of the map
+Light Kikib oh thanks for the info
+TheMcpe Catalyst You're welcome :)
0:41 he is in t-pose?
real
To everyone complaining Faith seems different in this game:
She's YOUNGER than she was in the original.
Kate Connors is Caitlyn "Cat" Connors a.k.a Isabel Kruger a.k.a Faith's sister
Faith is my favorite female video game character ❤❤❤
Let’s hope for Mirror’s Edge 3 to release in 2024, 8 years after Catalyst, there was an 8 year gap between the original and Catalyst, so let’s hope for the same for Catalyst to ME3
This game is amazing, we need more mirrors edge games!
OH LAWD FAN ME DOWN I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS HYPE.
What's that move that Faith does at the end where she spins around the cops body and grabs his neck with her legs?
This ain't no game, this a movie
Isn't that every game since 2007?
