You really should sink the mount into the wall a bit (around 4mm) to make it completely flat with the wall. Would look better and give it a more realistic feel.

When the input or input volume is too low, they have to turn up the gain in post, and that's what leads to noise

Thing is, its not meant to be a very good Bluray player either. Dedicated UHD Bluray players produce a much sharper picture, or so I heard.
I can certain back that up with normal Blurays, they always play better with more reliable frame pacing on a dedicated player.

Around 2010 I think as its when I bought my first Bluray player (Sony BDP-S370) after reading reviews about how much better it was than the PS3.
I use streaming a lot but lets be honest, it kinda sucks. Neither the picture nor sound comes close to Bluray and usually half way through a TV show they will remove the series, if the whole series was even available to start with.
Its only going to get worse with Disney pulling out of Netflix next year in favour of their own service and other studios are already doing the same thing on Amazon Prime, you have to pay extra for access to the majority of their content.

You should hook up a wireless cam and screen share the footage to the TV live, so you can make sure everyone is working, and that way, it'll almost be a window!

The first thing I thought of too. I also thought he was going to say they were building a window frame around it for complete authenticity, as it would hide the ribbon cable and potentially the tiny borders around the screen too.
Although the most cool would be to have a camera with head tracking running one of those highly detailed UE scenes, so that it ACTUALLY reacts like looking through a window with the visible area changing as you move your head. Its not like they couldn't spare a PC for it.

Its already been done, its how the New Nintendo 3DS "super stable 3D" works. (or doesn't sadly in my case)
But on PC implementations you can use better cameras and better tracking software thanks to the beefier CPU.

While the price on this particular model is crazy high, one of the neat things about LG's OLED lineup is that they all have exactly the same OLED panel and actual display features: the only difference between any of them is the form factor and speakers. Well, and the 77" size is only available on the high-end one. But if you go and buy their cheapest OLED TV, which is not cheap but only a fraction the price, you'll get exactly the same image quality.
seeying those black bezels makes me think you should make the background wall black so that it really is a display into nowhere!

There are setups with the Kinect that track the people in the room and adjust the view on the screen to make it feel like you are looking out a window. You have to add that!

Oh please. The pretence. Not a lot of working folks have even more than full HD tv's. 4k is still too expensive and new. It at least needs 2.5 to 3.5 years before anything beyond full HD becomes common. So having a 720p screen is not bad if on a tight budget.
Still awaiting for the 2nd part of this video. Am curious on how it will look.

the tv is just a big screen (most likely led) connected to the speaker bar with a simple ribbon cable. i have build similar setups from old laptop screens and a normal flat screen would be easy to convert.
