I’ve read several books about what it was like-written by people who were there-in the Clinton White House when the cameras weren’t on, and they all say the same thing. Fair enough, but USSS responsibilities aren’t to be solely bodyguards. She used to interrogate people, and frankly was quite good at it. She also protected other people in the presidents circle, eg their daughters. If a 16yo went to Coachella with a 6’4” bodyguard, it would be immediately obvious to everyone that she might be somebody important.

I think she is confusing resilience/confidence with psychopathy, I'm pretty sure _most_ US presidents have been well functioning psychopaths.
*Also, I will never understand why the right in America think they have a mainstream opinion of things, when in reality it's a very narrow minority.* They act completely shocked whenever disagreeing opinions burst their bubble, but in reality the majority of the GOP is so extreme they would be considered completely unelectable in Europe. What's really funny is they accuse Obama of racism when they were the ones calling him a Kenyan Muslim communist AntiChrist monkey from day one. I never bought his BS (he was literally Bush Lite, only well-spoken, but was always going to continue Bush 2's Nazi overthrow of America & its transformation into a Gestapo state), but their automatic hate judgments were still glaringly obvious and came from a deep seated bigotry.
They didn't care when Bush illegally stripped their rights and started a war that killed millions on false pretenses, but as soon as the (half) black guy stepped up they were hysterical about it.

Trumps granddaughter Kai touched on this ability. She said, when she plays golf against her grandfather he tries to "get in her head" but can't. She has to remind him that she is also a Trump! This is a skill that everyone should try to work on as there is no shortage of people out there who love to tear people down to keep them from succeeding in life. This can be anything from the mean girls in high school attacking the girl who is excelling to a world leader standing up against world elites for the little guy. The lady mentions the way Presidents communicate which is obviously critical for the role. Obama was the master of communication. However under the facade was a highly conflicted individual driven by ideology rather than facts that led to countless poor decisions. Trump communicates in a very direct manner which is often taken as offensive by many which leads to division which reduces his ability to govern effectively as resistance is high. Biden’s diminished capacity simply causes communications failure at every level leading to political instability and poor outcomes. In a world driven by continuous media coverage no one escapes criticism easily. No doubt it would be an interesting job being in the Secret Service as you would see behind the facade and appreciate the real personality.
