i love the fact that technically, Cake Like still owes the world an album... if I remember correctly, they signed a 4 album deal, but never produced the 4th one. Perhaps someday.
I do think they - as individuals - held feminist believes and possibly respected and encouraged riot grrrl bands, but did not identity themseleves as 'a riotg rrrl band'.
This was played on MTV in late 90's came on at random times. I remember me and my brothers use to always looking for this video. It always made us laugh and Kerri was definitely cool 😎
Ah! The Edge. It was on I-95 then Q104. That radio show changed my life. Remember when he would play whole albums (illegally) without interruption and tell you to get ready to tape them? I still have The Essence - Ecstasy / Nothing Lasts Forever from one of those times.
Lorraine disliked this. Twice. "I'm gonna be sick all over your pleather all over you pleather" That line was stuck in my head this morning for no earthly reason. Which sometimes happens to me when one of the band members dies. :c Didja notice kerri kenny can be downright gorgeous when she wants to?? :D Usually on the state, she played some dorky, homely character. I forgot how good this goofy, inside joke song was. The harmony and round parts were actually musically excellent. Did they ever do a second album? :/
Can't tell if you are being sarcastic, so it is, and if you look closely you can spot Jo Lotrulio in there too. It was directed by the tall guy with glasses from The State.
First time I heard this song it actually hurt my ears. Now I can't stop listening to it. The overlapping harmony blend well dispite not initially making sense. This is actually created by someone that had an incredible knowledge of musical theory.
Wanting to listen to this song after randomly remembering it after 20 years brought me here.......then I went holy fucking shitballs that's Trudy Weigel!!
Listen to all the Cake Like you can find on UA-cam - then seek out more. They're really one of the best bands that barely anyone knows about. Delicious is one of the best raw albums ever IMO.
I didn’t think it was possible to love Kerri Kenney more than I already do. But like every thing she does, this blew me away!
who knew Kerri was such a badass?
Pinche Eric CHECK OUT ALL OF CAKE LIKE's FIRST ALBUM. It's a masterpiece and Kerry is a GENIUS!!
Most really good comedians are multitalented.
Errrrrbody
I got to see this band live. Twice. It was magic.
So jealous !
Deputy Trudi Weigel was a real renaissance woman before dedicating her life to fighting crime.
It’s like Ween meets Lush
This is the best video I've ever seen.
Wow! I haven’t seen this in years! I remember 1997. Who I was. Who I wanted to be. ((Sigh)) nostalgia
I'm right there with you my friend. I seem to constantly seek comfort in the inviting warmth of the 90s.
I was so annoyed when I tried buying this album on iTunes and it wasn’t available. I lost my CD... it isn’t available in Canada (last time I checked).
i love the fact that technically, Cake Like still owes the world an album... if I remember correctly, they signed a 4 album deal, but never produced the 4th one. Perhaps someday.
It's an inside joke
Just learned Reno 911 Trudy Weigle actor is lead singer of a riot grrrl band... is there anything K K-S can't do? She looks hot!
I do think they - as individuals - held feminist believes and possibly respected and encouraged riot grrrl bands, but did not identity themseleves as 'a riotg rrrl band'.
I don't understand why this song isn't as famous as, let's say, Cannonball by the Breeders. It's fantastic.
Because it's about a woman preying on young girls.
@@michaelscampini3304and what's that got to do with it being a hit...especially 30 years ago...plenty of hit songs with questionables!
Reno 911 and The State brought me here
This was played on MTV in late 90's came on at random times. I remember me and my brothers use to always looking for this video. It always made us laugh and Kerri was definitely cool 😎
I was 14 when this was new, I had it in a Vhs tape.
Weigel love
Kerri is such a gem and you can see cameos by some of the State and Reno 911 cast
Jerusha rocks!!!! they remind me of The Waitresses kinda thing.
This is so good! just discovered Kerri had a band
Kerri has always been a great actress but goddamn is her voice awesome.
Directed by David Wain! ... of course 🥰 also who saw them perform this live on Viva Variety (and maybe Freaks)?
I just remembered that episode of Viva Variety like 10 minutes ago, Googled and now I’m here
Same here.
Trudy weigal from Reno 911 is the bass player.
And lead singer
Oh man this stinks something awful! Smh no wonder they didnt hit reall big they suck
cant get over the fact that its reno 911 girl. kinda like it though.
also the waitress!!!
remember coyote j introducing this tune on his show the edge when it came out. hard to believe that's the Kerry we've come to know as a comedian.

Had this CD for years, just saw this video. Awesome!
What's this song about? The lyrics sound slightly ominous.
It's about a woman predator chasing after girls.
Just discovered this band! I think they are great!!
Is that Detective Boyle in the background? 1:12
Oh the 90's
Reminds me of a Soundgarden video.
That David Wain guy is every where, whats his deal?
KK, a fine lady.
Lorraine disliked this.
Twice.

They did 3 albums
I'm only here because of Reno 911
Lovely memories of alternative nation 1996
Hmm, why does this video keep disappearing from UA-cam.
Because it's about a woman predator.
That dude dancing in the tux in the front kinda looks like Ken Marino

Nah, I wasn't being sarcastic.
I just didn't know if her music career happened alongside her comedy career and when she knew all those guys.
Never knew Joan Crawford played in a band...
2:36-2:40 is my favorite part of this video.
I miss the 90s :( I feel like the Stepford wives have taken over since then.
J B I couldn’t agree more.

lmao not quite
No, they were just making shit up,
@@asusmctablet9180 lol how so?
I'm going to be sick all over the pleather.
THE WAITRESS!

Them hook harmonies make my brain feel good
Wow! Great tune
Awesome video from grrreat band.
all over your pleather...
Wow I had these albums! Never knew anyone else in the world knew of this let alone theres videos!!
Thanks!
Holy shit. I thought my 90s indie cred was good, but this was a revelation to me. Thanks to Janeane Garofalo.
Did Jeanine garafalo recommend this one?
@@Junoncross Yes. She was a huge fan of Cake Like.
She must have liked all bands with the word cake in the name. I remember she liked The Sea and Cake too haha.
This is so awesome! You guys fucking rock❤
Hey, Victor Pulak is a butler?!?
This song is way more advanced than you realize.
Great band!
Listening party Monaco!
The gang's shrink. Who knew!?
This is hilarious 🤣
That was great.
Damn i miss badass women like these. So fed up with modern weakness...
that video is enough to make young boys run from women for the rest of their lives
Just discovered this 🔥🔥🔥
This song is dope, and the attitudes in the video are cool
