    So nice to be able to do so many things yourself.

      I have to get a little creative sometimes doing things alone, but the end result is worth it. Thank you for watching!

    Looks great. Installed led dusk to dawn on my metal garage also. Always looking for great ideas. Recently added garage door openers on my roll up doors. Best of luck with your future projects!

      The lights are awesome! I bet you're loving the garage door openers. I've been contemplating adding some. I didn't think manual doors would be too bad but pressing a button is a lot better. 😄

      Real Life Tested for sure . The garage door openers was really a nice addition. They work great and was fairly cheap- purchased off eBay. I was concerned how the winter would hold up with the snow but never an issue yet.

    It would have been helpful to me to see better how and while you were attaching the lights to the metal building. Your light switch install was up close and easily understandable. Thanks for the video.

      I can’t remember but I’m thinking I explained I just made my own bolts with all thread for actually hanging the lights. I also drilled a small hole and used a rubber grommet for the wire to pass through. My apologies for not getting into detail with it. That’s why I don’t make many videos I’m not good at it haha

    I'm jealous that you were able to use flexible conduit throughout. My building code required pipe, clamped every 10 feet. I could only use flexible on the bifold door motor and the door hinge area. I would recommend some brush seals along the top of your roll-up doors. I could see substantial light coming from outside, above them. Keep the birds out.

    That is so cool. It's good to have a well illuminated area. So awesome you are able to do all these jobs. Amazing and professional work. On a different subject, do you have gasoline storage for all your equipment? I'm sure you must go through lots of gas with big jobs.

      I keep a little over 30 gallons of diesel, as well as 30 gallons of gasoline that I refill quite regularly. I once had a large gasoline tank mounted on my truck (was certified for gasoline) but it was sketchy in the summertime as gasoline builds pressure. I was always scared that if someone hit me I would explode! So I stick with a lot of 6 gallon gas jugs. haha And yes it is a huge pain in the butt handling all those jugs all the time.

      @@reallifetested2605 I see a lady on UA-cam who has a sheep farm and they use lots of equipment for the farm. They just pull up to the pump and continue their chores. Maybe on a smaller scale would work. Just thinking.... lol

      @@pattypartida9111 that would be so nice. I'm waiting on the day everything goes electric and I can just plug everything in at the end of the day.

    Looks good, did you mount straight to the metal or use some kind of gasket material (insulation) ?

    • @reallifetested2605
      @reallifetested2605  Рік тому

      The lights had a sort of rubber (maybe foam I can't remember) gasket built into the mating surface. I also put a layer of sillicone caulk around just to seal the gap. Other then that I mounted straight to the metal panel of the building.

    Where did you buy the boxes with the bracket for corner mount that you used as a junction for the light? I can’t seem to find that type of

      I got them at Lowe’s. They’re called new work metal construction boxes. The ones I got are made by raco.

    I have a solar floodlight... been debating on whether I should install it on the house wall by the front door aiming outwards toward the front yard, or there's a pillar/column about 8 ft in front of the door that I could attach that light to and aim the light back towards the front door/house... pros and cons either way?

    • @reallifetested2605
      @reallifetested2605  Рік тому +1

      Just my opinion, if it were me I’d put it on the house and aim it toward the front. It’s more for sort of security. It will allow you to see more out in the front, vs the light being on the pole shining toward you limiting the light going to the front and possible blinding you when looking out. I hope that makes sense!
