I'm glad you're composting the carp. I hate when people leave them on the banks to rot. Makes that area reek! I boil them and feed them to my chickens. They love it.

Great video like always 😎👍 maybe throw a cast net in there to remove the Asian carp 🙂 I've heard of places that Asian carp are in they starve the other fish species out, maybe that's why them regular carp are eating minnows and lures which I've never seen regular carp do?

Me and my friends a few years ago were out riding around in our atv's on one of my friend's parents farm land and we found a pond / sewage place like this about 10 miles out ... we went back the next day to fish it and caught a 7,4,5 pound bass in less than 1 hour ... it very similar in size ...we went back to the house that day ... and told them about our amazing journey ... just to find out my dad and his friends back in the day used to use it as their pond to keep there pet bass to try to grow them into trophy size fishes lmfaooooo

Ben you need to dedicate another video or just a day of your time to go back to that spillway and get as many of those Asian carp out of the water as possible. Living just outside of St. Louis they have destroyed our rivers (mostly the Meremac) to the point that I spend a lot of my days just catching and killing them. Illinois is much worse off then we have it so I can only imagine what fisherman are doing to counter act them there. Great video as always, I would just like to see you perform some informational videos about what conservation efforts us fisherman can be doing against invasive species

Just ordered my first 6th sense lux rod. 7’ 4” MH.. hopefully the first of many.. want to see if it lives up to all the hype before I replace all my rods.. have a few favorite rods, defender series and flairs flippin stick (bought on extreme discount b/c I thought it was more of a gimmick than anything else) so far one of the eyes popped out of one of my defender rods, own 2, one of the two balance rods I bought broke while fighting a 5lber, w/ tatula. The other is on the bottom of the lake with a revo XS reel, bad day. Will not be buying any more favorite rods, I bought a few fenwick Hmg rods b/c they were cheap to replace broken favorite rods, so far I have to say they far exceed my expectations, way better than favorite rods in my opinion, which isn’t saying much. Have shimano expride, fucking love this rod... st croix bassX, not bad, shimano slx rods, good for the money, and a couple lews combos, Mach 1, Mach 2, Mach crush, and custom black.. Mach crush had eyes come completely off rod.. also have 2 revo x combos, they suck... let my buddies use those when they fish on my boat. Can’t wait to see how these 6th sense rods hold up. Just bought a a new curado k to put on it. I honestly believe I’ll be replacing all my rods with 6th sense throughout this year.. going to “donate” my old rods to any kids I see at the boat landing..

Take a big old Asian carp fillet. Microwave a plane for 20 seconds and then you can take pliers or hemostats or tweezers to pull the bones right out. The bones get hot first and then meet doesn't cook in the bones come right out. All fish do that. If you microwave them just a little bit don't cook it at all. The bones get hot first and release from the meat.

I recently bought a new Team Lew's Custom Black Speed Spool baitcaster combo (that has 10 bearings) for $250, and I also bought a Lew's Speed Spool orange/white baitcaster combo from Walmarx for $100 that I absolutely love. The cheaper Lew's combo has 8 bearings, but is honestly smoother to cast and retrieve than my Shimano Curado DC AND the $250 Team Lew's Custom Black combo. I also have a Shimano Stradic 2500FK spinning reel on a Favorite Defender LunkersTV edition 7'1" medium heavy rod and I also love it.
