I have been using my iPad for programming MPE and it has been quite useful and effective without breaking the bank, as I already owned one (and Roli is not selling their products in my country, so affordable options like Seaboard Block are out of the question). There are a few MPE compatible controller apps for iPad like Logic Remote (if you use Logic) and one I bought recently called Musikraken which is a more customisable cross platform app. Though iPad MPE needs some getting used to as there is no tactile or responsive surface like seaboard or osmose, but works fine for my use case.
Good, straightforward explanation and video. I have had an Osmose for a year, and I love it. I agree that Noisy2 and Equator 2 are great MPE plugins. One thing to add that I think is very important is that a piano player and jump on the Osmose and immediately play it. You are correct that there is a lot to learn about control and it shows up sloppinesss. But it truly is a piano keyboard and can be played like that. On the other hand it will not replace a great 88-note keyboard because it is a different beast, much like a cello is different than a bass guitar. Thank you for a great video. MPE is such a leap forward that it is here to stay.
Thanks for all that great insight. Especially your cello and bass guitar analogy. MPE and a standard keyboard have a lot of overlap but the differences require training and lots of practice. Thanks again for watching!
The folks over on the Anthony Marinelli channel hooked one of these up to a bunch of analog synths and were marveling at what it let them do with the ARP 2600 and older stuff (when you have a lot). I think there is a lot of potential in there for doing some neat stuff.
Nice a Juno X! I definitely recommend learning how to utilize aftertouch. It’s a really easy way to add expression to your sounds. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for hanging. Got any questions about MPE?

That’s so rad, I really do hope that MPE becomes more popular. Especially in a live performance setting. Thanks for watching!
