I like the way she bounces and grooves with every beat of the song.. so infectious and still able to sing the song without sounding breathless.. i mean u gotta admit her high-nasal voice at times and then getting deeper and sexier in the late 90s.. whatever it is Madonna is WONDERFUL to watch.
I am only 4 years younger than Madonna and I have always admired her. Being self-made and confident and going after your dreams --- people have to remember that women's equality/liberation was still fairly new at that time in terms of being "practiced". She injected a dose of reality into our psyches that, YES, women can put their minds to something and accomplish whatever they want. And, no apologies.
No way. Madonna's first top five hit was "Lucky Star". She wrote that song all by herself. And ever since then, she has produced everything she has released. She had written over 90 percent of her music and that is commendable. She is up there with Michael Jackson as a pop song writer. Elvis didn't even write his songs. The Beatles has two great collaborators. Madonna has done it on her own. Selecting a different producer every step of the way and still making consistently good pop music.
We all did! As a matter of fact Joanne Gair did many iconic looks for her! Among them: Fever video, Sooner Or Later live at the oscars, Immaculate Collection cover and booklet, Vogue video, Vogue Marie Antoinette look for MTV live, Madonnas Rainvideo etc. She is as much an icon in her field as Madonna is in many fields!
watchin this again - i actually think madonna turned me into the feminist i ve become :)) so funny considerin she was so much bashed by American feminists for her use of sexuality. the msg i got as a teen from her (without seein this interview) was exactly as she put it: be strong, know what you can do, trust yourself, work hard, you re the master of your fate. and power to the "misbehaving" women :))
i think she meant she went to david bowie's 1974 tour, not 1984... either that or she's trying to suggest she was in high school when her career began. it probably worked on some viewers.
Michael Jackson is innovative, and David Bowie is innovative. They have innovated music and performance in different ways. I'm a huge fan of both of them.
Now that she mentioned Debbie Harry, I can see a big similitude in Madonna's attitude. I can see Madonna rebel-woman-in-charge style is very inspired by Debbie Harry
The "1984 Tour" was the title of the tour not the year. You know, inspired by the dystopian novel by George Orwell 1984, where a centralised government controls the population by reinventing facts, words and concepts to convince everybody that Slavery is Freedom, and that freedom of speech is only truly free if what is being said is approved by the thought police. A bit like 2022, but Orwell didn't know there would be social media doing this for whatever ideology they think deserves to be free.
Oh please, go do your research. His insurance company was forced to pay out, he had no choice in the matter. It's amazing how many people love to quote this stuff, but haven't actually read the court documents.
sp who cares¿? she wrote most of her songs look for her discography and see the credicts, she has written 95 percent of her songs and produced them all;)
WRONG ! I didn't actually comment on whether Michael Jackson is innocent or not (you certainly DON'T know 100%) and can assure you i'm not delusional. I simply stated your previous comment was not a fact but your opionion- that is a FACT !
i love madonna but other artist write like 2 songs by themselves eg britney the only two music peopl i can give credit to is MADONNA and Lady GaGa its weird cause madonna's music has encouraged me to express myself through music and now lady gaga has given me the power to sing better cause she has different style like in her acustic stuff so thats good but madonna's msuic is more like my daily music listenings and gaga's too britney hasnt released anything great since blackout
ya.. i ve been a huuuge madonna fan througha ll of my teen years 1994 to maybe 2001 or so.. lost interest later a bit.. one thing i have to say after my fan craze cooled down a bit i coincidentally heard an interview by debbie harry when blondie had a short comeback around 2000. one of her band members said debbie could ve become such an icon given her talent but was less "eaten up" by ambition like madonna. i think that could be true - madonna has always also been one big sellout..
Why is Madonna acting like she hasn't been inspired HEAVILY by black ppl?! I hate it when she acts fake and all fucken blond ... was she not doing dance funk music in her early careers? Was she not working with ethnic producers and artists?! Was she not the one in the early 80s talking about how she lives the MOTOWN sound?! She pulled a lot from black ppl so idk why she's acting all brand new here?! And Diana Ross may not be a songwriter but to make it seem like she didn't have influence over her career is absurd?! Diana had to push her way into Motown and convinced the higher uppers... I hate it when Madonna acts all Brand new ... it's so irritating here
she seemed to bereveal that there are hidden symbols and concepts in her shows that teens are not meant to understand or incapable of , but are meant to be there for another reason .. ritual subliminal programming on one level and goddess worship ...seems to me she was practicing kaballah concepts at an earlier part of her career
Madonna used black producers and black songwriters black choreographers etc.. but all of her inspiration are white artist. Back in the early part of her career, her sound was in the black style. I remember the early 80s KDAY AM played hip hop and r&b music..Madonna music was played by those black djs. little by little she pulled away from the black producers the black songwriters the black choreographers and found white people to replace the black people she learned from. smh oh well.

"1984" is a song by David Bowie, from his 1974 album Diamond Dogs. Written in late 1973, it was inspired by George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four.
Her message,"To be in charge of your life,to be in control to express yourself."!
Love how Madonna loves Debbie. They are both awesome.
In 1990 she was very beautiful... she seems like a top model

It was Everybody which was her first single released.
MADONNA is a legend and i love her
Brilliant to see her citing Debbie Harry as a role model. Wish they would work together.
I just love madonna.. she is the best
i love her makeup in this interview
We all did!
As a matter of fact Joanne Gair did many iconic looks for her!

Sooner Or Later live at the oscars,

"be in control of your life" right on.
"1984" was the tour name, not the year. As is Orwell's 1984.
What is so arrogant aboout that? Madonnna is an artist and performer. Her bluntness and she speaks her mind to people like you to LIGHTEN UP!.
watchin this again - i actually think madonna turned me into the feminist i ve become :)) so funny considerin she was so much bashed by American feminists for her use of sexuality.

i thin she has written 95 percent of her songs and she is a executive producer of her music
yeah but she wrote loads of her other songs, lucky star, like a prayer, ray of light lots
Where is the part 2?
She was sweet way back before Truth or Dare
Ok. First she has never been sweet, and second, she was in the making of "Truth or Dare" when she had this interview
i think she meant she went to david bowie's 1974 tour, not 1984... either that or she's trying to suggest she was in high school when her career began. it probably worked on some viewers.
what´s the name of the first song that Madonna sing ???in the begining of this video?
That interviewer is so flirting with M
i think she meant 1974

Madonna was born in 1958. How could she have been in high school in 1984? It doesn't add up.
Je suis tres confus!

Madonna used black producers and black songwriters black choreographers etc..
