Cheers @Faruk Zeqiri, the processor behaviors are important for a lot of high load work, research application, machine learning/AI etc. Sometimes the behavior is more important then the ending result performance score due to specific applications in the professional/business tasks. I do my best to perform and demonstrate these processor behaviors on each computer I get on the channel. I'm grateful this demonstration was useful to you and giving me the feedback on it =).
@@badi8654 big thank you for the feedback, had a long day I your comment really brought some shine back into working late on the latest video thank you. Really appreciate it!
Thank you for your review. Your previous videos had a 'darker' setting as in there was less light, but I actually found that more natural. Your current video, it's quite bright, maybe a bit too much to be honest. Apart from that, very nice review, you are one of the few people on UA-cam that actually reviewed this laptop! Also, the quality of your content is really good, I subscribed.
I'm thinking of getting the slightly cheaper Dell Vostro 5410. My main concern is fan noise. Do you know how loud it is for that computer and how often it goes on and how does it compare to the Latitude 5420 in this respect? Thanks
Is there no two finger scroll or gesture on this model. At work we imaged two and found there is no gesture or two finger scrolling. No new driver found. Have you all found the same?
This isn't the 360 convertible version, there is a touch screen option which is a FHD touch screen with matte finish that has max brightness 300 nits. Since this laptop isn't the current one so isn't sold directly by Dell website you have to check on the reseller if they have the touch screen version of the Latitude 5420.
Lenovo Thinkpad T14 is the direct equivalent of the Latitude 5400 series. I prefer the Thinkpad T14 just because of the keyboard, this is my preference.
Sorry. Did you say the max RAM is 64GB? You may get slightly different results when testing the speakers with the laptop raised a little from the table. Thank you
Yeah, the CPU has 2 channels x 32 GB max. each. And the laptop has 2 SODIMM slots. It's a decent budget laptop nowadays, they go second hand for around $250.
I was really looking for the review on the display. This laptop has IPS display which disappointed me and this review, display aspect is completely skipped.
The laptop is happy to have it plugged in all day to AC power while running. A lot of business laptops do this with docking stations/ports and the battery AI is smart enough to not kill battery quickly these days while having AC power connected all day and all night.
Unlike with older laptops, it's safe to keep this one plugged in all the time. I have mine configured to start charging at 40% and stop charging at 80%. So if I unplug the computer for a half hour and the battery discharges to 60% for example- when I plug it back in, it will not charge the battery. At all. If I unplug the computer and use it till the battery is down to 43%, plug it back in, it won't charge. If I unplug, drain it to 35%, plug it in, then it will charge all the way back up to 80%.
@@jain7925 It's within the BIOS settings. When the machine first starts- when the DELL logo appears on the screen- hit F12 to go into the boot menu, then select the BIOS configuration. I believe it's under Power settings within the BIOS config.
what do you think of the touch pad compared to other models? i like the xps 15 pad but disliked the higher-end inspiron pad - very clunky and felt cheap when clicking. obviously with many of these models sold directly there is little room to try these out in person
The trackpad on the Latitude 5420 is very different to the XPS 13. XPS 15 is more like glass texture like feel where as the Latitude is more tad rougher texture but the depressing clicking on the 5420 is better than the XPS 15.
*if you haven't decided yet: the trackpad is terrible. good luck navigating anywhere or copying anything. if you don't use external mouse to navigate, I don't recommend this laptop.
Nice review mate. I wonder why you haven't reviewed NFC and Smart Cart reader? No one talks about it. Also build quality, is there any metal there or pure plastic. Thx.
Thanks Vadim, you have made a great suggestion on future reviews. Unfortunately I haven't got much experience with NFC nor the Smart Card reader as I haven't worked for an organization that uses those two devices so I couldn't give a good honest review on them. I will look into it though for sure! Thanks for the feedback and suggestion Vadim =).

There may be a gesture recognition service in Windows itself. I don't use Windows directly on mine- I use Linux- and two-finger scrolling works fine.
