I've just bought this 5420 dell latitude laptop with i5 processor, being unhappy with the display quality (very limited brightness, average contrast, colors looks a bit dull and inacurate,...), i've cheked the display properties under windows 10, i found that the panel is only a 6 bits (on external IPS monitor with HDMI cable it's 8 bits). I'm wondering if it's normal for this laptop to use a 6 bits IPS panel and did DELL equip all 5420 with a cheap 6 bits IPS panel ?
Same concern here. I like the machine, but the display is a mess. Thanks for your comment; I didn't even realized that thinks do not improve that much using an external display.
@@ruimutemba as i remember , on an external screen the display was fine with the normal 8 bits depth (16 millions colors) but i disliked everything on this latitude, the very bad keyboard , and the grey color on the plastic of the dell body that gone at a every minimum impact , plus the display, i never had a professionel laptop with a such bad finitions so i sell it immediately. the best thing is to try the laptop at a shop, a showroom before the online purchase
