I have a few bags and they have lasted for a few years. I think his bags are affordable and ones l can afford. Everyone deserves a quality handbag within thier budget. Just because it doesn't cost alot doesn't mean it is cheap.
I agree. I have his bags and I like the quality for the price point, especially on sale. The bags I bought six to eight years ago were worth the money. They were quality bags. Nowadays I am not as interested as before because MK is using polyurethane in place of leather and the styles no longer appeal to me. I have some really cute duffles and totes that don't scream MK.
I personally hate anything with too many initials, and yes that includes LV. It feels like the people wearing them want others to know they are wearing a certain brand even if it looks ugly.
@rnsm6619s I happen to love logo be it ADIDAS, Puma, lv, gucci... not because I want people to know or see logos I am wearing, but because I love it, and it amuses me. But no MK!! Their store on 5th av is full of arrogant, racist SA with their managers leading the racist and arrogant games. While the poor quality of their cheap stuff is going down, so is their customer service, if I should call it one.
I love MK I don’t care what others think about it. It Is gorgeous and the staff is very nice at the stores and the bags are really nice and last a long time.
I love MK bags, especially ones from the 2000s. I collect MK Hamilton Bags 💼 which is the big one with the gold plate/gold lock 🔒 on them. They are timeless and I think they are the most beautiful bags ever. The great thing is the bags that I used to love a decade ago, are now super cheap on resale sites! So I got 3 different ones just this year! Lol!
@@MaryLopez-hc7rcif you are talking about Melania Trump, I agree. I think it’s horrible that designers couldn’t put politics aside and dress our First Lady. She was absolutely the most fashionable First Lady we ever had and was treated so poorly by the fashion media. That baby blue 2016 inaugural outfit with the gloves was incredible.
@@tula1433agree. Its horrible her politics are so problematic because the fashion was iconic. But then comes the “i dont care” coat and I have to throw all of this away.
I never thought of Michael Kors as luxury - plus, he just knocks off other designers, especially his bags. He’s got dupes of a lot of LV, Hermes, and even Chanel.
I love MK, everything I’ve owned has been good quality and classic looking. They may not be luxury but if luxury is spending thousands on a bag I’m only going to like for one season then I’d rather stick with MK.
There are brand like Polène, DeMellier, Longchamp that has similar prince as MK, but still consider as entry luxury brand. MK is just a copy design with poorer quality. You can stick with MK spending money for a brand that lack aspiration and copy then it is fine. I think younger consumers are after a quality leather goods, but distinctive not a cheap brand that try to imitate some other high end brands.
@@Serena_9Or maybe stop shaming people for what they decide to wear? So pretentious of you, a stranger to be telling people and putting them down for choosing a stupid brand who is the same among others. You are no better for wearing Chanel, and Chanel is expensive and also crap, are you shaming Blake Lively for dressing in MK? No you don’t cause she’s a celeb. People should stop being vapid douchebags who just care about fashion and brands and focus on their own problems instead of being pretentious pedantic soporific idiots with opinions no asked them for.
I love MK bags. They are affordable and high quality. I know the comment section will be filled with people pretending to afford 30k bags and other luxury items, but I'm not a labels girl. I have nothing to prove. MK bags hold their shape very well for years, don't stain easily, come in a variety of colors, etc.
Thank you. Same here. I’ve been using 2 monogram MK totes for ages, the minimalistic design, used carelessly daily and boy, do they look new as day 1. Absolutely fantastic value for money. Indeed, invest your hard earned money wisely, ladies, towards an early and luxurious retirement, a memorable holiday, rather than sweating towards a “brand” that humiliates the customer, no need to name those, it’s too obvious who they are. At the end of the day, it’s just a thing that carries your belongings. I love MK, yes, the minimalistic designs.
A wealthy influencer once said that rich women did not wear this brand. That stuck with me. It is too widely exposed but too expensive for that exposure for regular people. It is everywhere. It is not Channel or LV so it is essentially less, but for me, I do not care for the heavily logoed bags that aren't that special.
Today, I see Louis Vuitton EVERYWHERE. Now whether they're fake or real it doesn't matter. It's everywhere. I started to see the uprise when I bought my Neverful and my Speedy. I thought I was getting something that not everyone had, which was the appeal to me. But now everyone has them. I've been finding myself going back to brands that I started out with in Luxury, such as Michael Kors, Coach and Kate Spade. I don't see too many people with these brands as they're all going to Tory Burch, YSL, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and MCM. I like soft leathers, I'm not a fan of saffiano leathers, and I HATE Louis Vuitton once I found out that I basically paid JUST for the name brand and not the quality or materials. Louis Vuitton is made with PLASTIC and COTTON. That's their "canvas", and then when the handles rip from the canvas (like what happened to my LV Neverful bag) they tell you they can't fix it because the canvas is ripped. It can no longer be sewn. They don't even offer you a discount on a new bag. I will NEVER buy another LV again. I'm not hard on my bags, I used that neverful tote EVERY SINGLE DAY for work for 5 years.Just toting in papers in a folder and the occasional laptop. I used that bag as my briefcase and of course my purse. Quality is just not there anymore for LV. Which leads me to wonder how long my Speedy will last if I wear it every single day, will I get the same result? Probably. LV is garbage. I'd much rather have MK at least their stuff lasts the test of time.
personally I see Michael Kors everywhere, way more than LV, and also that is why i buy vintage Louis Vuitton collections which is really rare to see everyday and has better materials
Yea LV is garbage I don’t understand the appeal at all. With the monogram being tacky, low quality, and how common it is why is it still so popular. I’ll stick with MCM thank you very much.
Well, honestly you did go after two of THEE most common bags from LV lol. You could not have possibly thought you were getting away from a popular bag while buying a Neverfull. Should’ve went for maybe like a Capucine if inclusivity is what you were looking for.
Seems like you have a beef with LV because they didnt want to fix your bag you yourself broke for free and became completely biased and kinda missed the point. To compare the quality and the status LV/MK has is ludicrous. MK, unfortunately is for people who dont have enough resources to buy a luxury products but have the hunger for them. MK wears completely awful and once new, the products seem extremely plastic. LV is not the most luxurious brand either anymore, but to compare the two shows being out of touch when it comes to the topic of “luxury brands”.
Exactly. MK is like upper middle class, solidly American, established in the BIg 80's. (sort of like flying business class but not flying first class.)
MK bags became so widespread so quickly that I never got any interest in them. Who wants to have a bag that everyone wears? I want to have something special.
The prevalent MK style looks just like a Louis Vuitton bag, which itself has become inferior blue collar luxury. The brown bag with beige logo makes the standard MK bag look like a Louis Vuitton knockoff. The quality was never there either.
Well. I completely disagree with you, although i know we all have different opinions and that is fine. I can see YSL everywhere in terms of bags, Gucci, Chanel as well, plus Chanel quality is really bad lately. So what is your point here, to pay thousands for Chanel to have luxury experience?
I see what you’re saying. The quality overall is such a joke. Cannot justify paying “luxury” prices for these brands at this point either. Personally I’m going with small brands, great materials, with quality craftsmanship, & the price reflects all that. It makes more sense to me. The luxury logos look “cool” or whatever but really just a logo. If the product is crap then what’s the actual point? I want my things to look good, be functional, & last. At the very least! Some great brands out there under the radar, which I’m finding to enjoy.
I agree with you - I've had a Guess bag and a Michael Kors bag, both stood up to wear and tear for years. I think a lot of brands actually look really tacky, if I knew of an actual artisan that made a good product, I would go there too. And as far as I'm concerned, Gucci and VL are ugly, poorly made, and so not worth it Edit - and my Kate Spade wallet/clutch, which I use every day, has stood up to 8 years
I’ve never considered MK luxury. For me it’s always been a contemporary brand. But I would agree… the outlets cheapen the brand. I believe most outlets can cheapen any brand.
@@bambooprincess3495exactly outlet brands can continue to make millions and billions over the course of years where as “luxury brands” only cater to the rich. They rely on a very small percentage of the population. Mk is technically still luxury but it’s luxury for the middle and lower class.
I would love for you to do a video on Kate Spade. I'm a little obsessed. Though, it hasn't escaped the quality crash either. Even the decor of the retail stores has become blah and bland. Plus, I know this is a personal preference, but saffiano leather is the bane of my existence.
I absolutely love my Kate Spade bags. A few are about 6 years old or so, but complete strangers ask about them and where they can get them. If they used more silver-toned trim/hardware, they'd see more business from me. I have to extremely discriminating in what I choose from KS, because I hate gold hardware and pass up the bags that have it, but I'm so happy with the bags I have.
I completely hear this. I recently became obsessed with Kate Spade too. I kinda love KS for where it is though. It’s a brand that not everyone picks up so it feels cute and exclusive in a different way (rather than the usual exclusivity via price point) - also means that things don’t sell out 😉
Kate Spade is a part of Tapestry, along with Coach. Last I heard, Tapestry was trying to acquire Capri Holdings (a.k.a. Michael Kors Holdings Ltd.). I'm hoping Tapestry's focus doesn't shift too much on Michael Kors. If that happens, it could affect Kate Spade and Coach.
I think his upscale line, Michael Kors Collection or Runway is exquisite. Beautiful, classic pieces that are fantastic quality and you can usually find them on sale since most people don't know about that line. I'd even go so far to compare it to Ralph Lauren purple label
MK may not be as in demand as it used to be or have any “It Bags” at the moment, but the designs and quality are still up to par! Also, anything that’s $100 and up will always be considered “luxury” to my wallet!
I bought a few mk bags and they just cant handle daily wear and tear. They perform like aldo bags. Coach bags are on a similar price point and can take a BEATING and still look fantastic.
All my MK bags have lasted and still look good but I must admit I change my bags around frequently according to my outfit. Their brand is mostly made of real leather, although the quality may vary. I don’t think MK brand was ever considered all that luxurious but rather mid range, like Cole Haan, Kate Spade, Coach. I definitely prefer MK to all the plastic (“vegan” leather) Amazon designer bag dupes out there.
The moment they started selling bags in stores like Ross and TJ Maxx they lost their luxury appeal. Not to mention why would anyone pay $500 for a bag when they can get it for $99 at the outlet? The company messed up big time. I hate this because I love their brand.
I love MK! I'm not a label fanatic so i don't care of his merchandise is considered luxury or not. It is stylish, quality, and at a reasonable price point.
1000% disagree. Coach completely rebranded in the last 8-7 years and the stuff they put out now is REAL luxury fashion. Not at the levels that Chanel and LV are, but definitely not MK
Personally I like my Michael Kors bags, I still havent run in to or seen anyone w/ my specific bags. I get complimented on them a lot since its not common or monogram. I guess it just depends on the persons tastes some want a monogram some just want a nice classic bag that also looks good for a affordable price
I collect vintage MK Hamilton bags, and get tons of compliments. For a day to day bag that you don’t have to be nervous about actually USING, MK Bags are perfect. I view them as similar to Coach and I’m not afraid to actually use them and wear them often.
I don’t care for “luxury” brand. I just need a purse that’s sturdy and can withstand my everyday wear and all the junk I put in my purse. Coach and Michael Kors has held up.
Getting an MK bag in 2013 was thrilling! But I haven’t felt pulled to them. I still give credit to the Hamilton bag - man I wanted one and to be honest I think it was a special offering at the time.
I wanted one too, then grew out of it. That lock! My first MK bag was from Macys… a large tote with compartments and I never saw it again. I don’t want anything else from them until they bring it back.
Omg yes!!!! I am all over these comments talking about my vintage Hamilton bags! I consider all the old purses I wanted in 2010-2014 to be vintage lol. I got THREE this year on poshmark in excellent condition for super inexpensive! For my day to day bag I actually am not afraid to use, those older style Hamilton bags are perfect! I have three of them with the flat gold plate, and will be adding some of the lock 🔒 ones to my collection next! I got the large white xl Hamilton with gold chains for like $50! Then I got the black one, camel color is next. It’s thrilling to get the bags I used to want at such an affordable price and in great quality!!!
I honestly never thought of MK as luxury. It has good items, but I could find their things while thrift shopping more often than not. Great pieces though.
Michael Kors has never been seen as luxury in the U.K. and widely been seen as tacky for well over a decade here, seen more of a brand that copies rather than innovates.
@@seadragon1456 not even on the same level. Lol I grew up in a very low income ghetto neighborhood. People wore nothing but MK and fake Gucci. Lol I currently live i. A wealthy neighborhood. @@bnb0510Agreed. Chanel & MK is Literally apples to oranges. MK was on everyone’s arm especially when they became available in TJ Maxx which was horrible.
I like MK for clothes and shoes. Bags not. I only have one MK bag and it’s in rafia, like a beach bag. I’ve never considered it as luxury. Years ago I had quality problems with one MK product. The customer service was so bad, that I sold the rest of my MK bags. Never purchased from the brand again, and never will 🤷♀
Coach and Kate Spade are out of favor as well. When you go to the gas station and every woman in line has one of those bags they aren't so luxurious. You can buy them at stores in strip malls now.
I'm a Michael kors woman i love he styles purses, watches, shoes he's my favorite designer forever, i have a collection of everything. I really ❤ Michael Kors
I find myself oftentimes thinking about the very first brand that I “liked” as a young consumer in the 80s. These days you never see anyone carrying Aigner and they have some great bags. I ❤them.
It’s not luxury, especially the handbags. Not exclusive, not expensive, and often not high quality. I also find a lot of it tacky and don’t like the obvious designer rip offs with the handbags. BUT… I will say once in a while there’s a single piece that’s a knockout. The other day when shopping at Macy’s of all places I found an absolutely STUNNING deep green full length wool blend coat with a dramatic beautifully dyed faux fur collar. This thing fits me like a custom piece, feels gorgeous, and looks 10x more expensive than it’s tag price of $500 so I added it to my winter coat collection and everyone whose asked is totally shocked it’s MK 😂😂
I recently bought a pair of Michael Kors frames for my glasses. I like the style, the quality is good, and the price was covered by my insurance. I've never bought anything previous to now because the brand seemed to be ubiquitous in all kinds of stores and not a luxury brand by any means.
Never was attracted to MK products especially the handbags. They looked to me as over-priced and didn’t convince me as a “designer” label. I really don’t prefer designer labels preferring quality products at a reasonable price. But, to each their own. If you like labels it’s your money your choice. In fashion, I believe, everything’s been done and cyclical. What’s left is designers trying to convince us that something’s desirable because it’s new and different when in actuality it’s unattractive, unwearable and honestly, weird. These are my thoughts and opinions.
Then buy it when they are sale coz i got couple mk.i never buy full price i buy only my limit is $150 down.mostly my bag is $99below. Doesnt matter if other dont want it.most important u want it😍😍😍😍who cares other people.
I enjoy my MK. I match every outfit to my bags. I have over 100 (not all MK, I have a soft spot for Mark Jacob's camera bags as well) and counting. So I find it's a great pice point for me personally. Now I do enjoy my YSL's, Fendi's, Valentino's, and Gucci's. ( I'm not into LV due to all the fakes. Sooo many where I live it's unbelievable) However for my small town, so I only use them on dinner dates with my husband into the city or brunch n dinner w/ friends. And MK are my "everyday" bags. So my MK works perfect for my scenario. And I love them.
Ralph Lauren? I own a few of his Oxford shirts with the little pony. They're good enough quality but to me RL is a bit tacky American wannabe and certainly overpriced. Those blazers with crests on them? 😅 Pretentious, moi? Will stick to European high quality, no logo clothing. Ralph Lauren is a businessman with good taste in MEN'S clothing. He was never trained as a designer. Michael Kors was the first women's ready-to-wear designer for Celine. Granted, his label has been cheapened by over exposure but his styles of female clothing beat Ralph Lauren hands down.
@@chronic2023 , If Ralph Lauren is an American wannabe, how is that any different from Michael Kors. They're both born in New York. Both are Jewish. Ralph Lauren served in the United States Army. He started with Brooks Brothers, had his own "Polo" line at Bloomingdale's in 1969, of which he did his own leg work. He was the first American designer to open his store on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills in 1971. The man has many accolades including an honorary doctorate degree in fine arts from Pratt Institute, awards from the CFDA/ Council of Fashion Designers of America, etc. Mr. Lauren also received Her Majesty's Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. William, the Prince of Wales, and his son George, are known to wear Ralph Lauren. He also received the Legion of Honour medal from French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Ralph Lauren and his company do an incredible amount of charity work on cancer research and treatment. Being a patriotic American, he also helped preserve the Star Spangled Banner, 1813 American flag, that hangs in the Smithsonian. Think Francis Scott Key. Ralph Lauren has been in the industry for 57 years and has been on the lists of the top 10 and top 5 American fashion designers for years. MK has not been on that list. Just because Michael Kors was "trained as a designer" for only nine months doesn't make him trained. He didn't stick around long enough to complete studies in fashion. Tapestry Holdings (Formerly Coach holdings) acquired Capri Holdings (formerly MK Holdings) in August 2023 and the deal is being finalized this year, 2024. Michael Kors sold OUT. He left his overexpanded company for Tapestry to clean up while he collects on billion of dollars worth of sales from mass merchandised bags and trendy apparel.
I do love MK but it has to be from the boutiques bc the Ross and Marshall’s stuff is not as good of quality. That’s the stuff that didn’t pass quality control but it does make the brand seem less luxurious when Ross sells it.
@@bambooprincess3495I used to work for the company trust me they 100% call them boutiques. Why this is so troubling to you really amplifies your quality of life. Best of luck friend 😊
Designers make big bucks by selling to discount stores. There's no turning back now. I cannot see MK being luxury ever. But to those who like a designer bag - it is affordable at the discount stores.
If you are a person who needs their fashion dictated to them, I guess you would believe that. If you are a creator and an originator, then you wear what you like. All the top designers took their inspiration and designs for Africa. It's people who really influence the designers! I will buy MK until I am not! I wear what I want to.
I've never viewed MK as a luxury brand. I believe it's more of an affordable, contemporary brand. I own quite a few MK bags and shoes that were all purchased online, one piece purchased in TJ Maxx, and one piece purchased in an outlet store. I'm over the logo's all over the place but I still like the brand. Going forward, I'll only be interested in more subtle pieces that don't have the MK plastered all over them.
Who made Michael Kors a luxury brand? I never thought of Kors as a luxury brand. It sells to the masses. There's no sense of exclusivity. His ads with private jets gave the illusion of luxury but, anyone who was smart could see right through that.
I have a closet full of LV's, Gucci, Prada, diff designs of Coach bags, some Kate Spades... I never owned an MK bag until a friend of mine tried to get rid of her MK bag, it was in a big box of MK complete with ribbons and accessories and I fell in love with how beautiful the packaging was, the bag was also beautiful so I had to get it. I bought it from my friend and I have been using the bag for about 2 mos now and yesterday I ordered another one from MK, diff design and a little bigger. I think this is the beginning of more MK orders lol
I bought two pair of shoes (ballerinas) MK, 2019, the quality was so poor! The shoes literally fell apart after only two months of use. My mother is a big fan of MK bags, but I find they look cheap and they are everywhere...
I've only seen MK become popular in Europe when recently visited. It used to be really popular here on the West Coast specifically Los Angeles where I'm from but Marc Jacob's, Tory and Coach are literally taking over what used to be mainly MK in the 2010.
I work with luxury products but unfortunately, my salary is not luxury, so I buy on sale, TJ Maxx/Macy's and for brands like Chanel or LV, I've even picked up dupes on 5th Avenue and Canal Street. If I like the look of the bag, I don't care if it's real or not! People put too much energy on wether it's luxury or not. I rather use my money and travel the world and not let it sit in my closet in the form of a handbag!
I dont like bags with the designer's name plastered on it. So i stayed away from Michael Kors. But i was in a pinch one time and had to get a bag for a dress i was going to wear to a baptism out of state. The only bag i could find was an MK. The embossing of his name was small and it was gold on a pink nude bag. So it didn't stand out. Plus, i could just turn the bag around. The front looked the same as the back. I must say it is a beautifully well-made bag even though it's not an everyday bag. I've only used it that one time. But i dont regret it. Its my only MK.
I’ve got all my Michael Kors bags from Macy’s or Nordstrom and they are in new condition. I’m a coach girl but I jump on the bandwagon when I find something I like. Usually I get a designer brand in a similar style of a couture bag. I don want to shell out the money for. I still have my Hamilton with the lock on it because I would never spend a down payment amount on a Hermes bag I got a Kirby because it was the same style of a speedy. The brown checkered print never full style Michael Kors was sued over because it’s the neverfull I would love but don’t want to spend a lot to buy. I even have a channel dupe from him. I love them all! They pair well with a nice outfit and I look put together I rather save my money!
I remember even when MK was considered a higher end brand, my friend and I would just get the cheap Chinese knock offs from Ali Express or something. It was just TOO MUCH product - both real and fake - out on the streets with “MK” on it. This meant that there was not a sense of exclusivity or novelty about the brand.
I think Coach and Michael Kors are pretty similar in the brand ubiquity and oversaturation. Coach has had a huge comeback. MK could, too, but they'll have to come up with new signature styles, especially handbags. Just slapping a logo on a purse won't cut it anymore.
Some of his products are really good-looking but you'll not find them at discount stores. They are usually in his boutique stores and are quite expensive but they don't have the perceived allure of Chanel, YSL, Hermes, etc... This is very difficult to change in consumers' minds because you will never find these brands in discount or outlet stores. MK just don't have the all important "snob appeal" of Chanel, etc...
Mk has different levels of handbags...The one's you see in Macy's, TJ max, Ross etc are his lower line for us ordinary people but he has a higher end line with premium leather skins for his celebrity clients like Jlo was just seen with a 2500 or 3000 MK bag...
I remember buying a leather coat that was MK in 2005. At the time, I didn’t know who MK was . The coat was very nice . At that time, I didn’t notice the purses …..
I like some of the products. His bags were hard to find and fully leather. Now, I question the leather trim. Really want that nice quality leather back.
The reason I never considered buying any of his stuff is bc he puts that giant gold “MK” or his whole name in print or in gold all over every single product. Its obnoxious. Stuff is designed well but please, my name isnt Mk
As i love Michael Kors Watches and Bags for men, i have to say i find it like a luxury brand, he did and is doing a lot for the fashion scene. So he deserved some respect. I will buy and buy and buy again Watches and even Polos from him.
Micheal Kors is an expensive brand that used to be very hard to afford for most people into the thousands of dollars but now it’s hundreds of dollars to buy stuff there it’s still expensive luxury but now anyone not struggling with a minimum wage job can afford to buy an item if they want to maybe every year.
I wrote a job application for a position in retail and also didn‘t know how to describe its segment, whether I should call it luxury or just higher-priced …😅
Hello guys it's because they went wholesale just like Coach and Kate Spade did as well. That's why they're all in bargain bins and you see everyday people representing the brand. That's how it is.. It's quicker money.
I have bags of various styles, designs , prices , some considered Luxury & some not. Michael Kors bags are definitely in my collection. I’ll wear them as often as I do my other bags. They all make me feel luxurious, confident & happy. 👜 😊
Being in the luxury fashion industry is difficult since the designers must always come up with the newest styles every month or so. Unfortunately, Michael Kors failed to catch up and simply resorted to using "recycled" and previously-adopted designs. Originality is one of the keys to success.
The diffusion line, lower quality, monogram, and garish gold letter embossing makes the brand a no for me currently. I do have a Michael Kors Collection trench that I love and wear every season that will always be a wardrobe staple for me.
I don't own any MK bag. But i think their watches are beautiful. I remember back in around the time 2010's every blogger/vlogger are wearing MK watch. I still wearing them to this day. I have 3 MK watches and they're seem in such good quality.
I don't give a single f.... In the last 1,5 years I discovered MK. Much better quality than luxury items I had. I live in his sneakers (just received the second paid for 25%-75 euros and they are the most comfortable and sexy sneakers I have), a bag and a dress. I respect this brand and I wish Michael Kors the best.
Who cares? This is sooo high school lol. All I know is their website sells out of bags quickly and the outlets are always packed. Same with Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs and Coach. Luxury schmuxury🙃, buy what you like.
If im not mistaken the luxury brand completley dissapeared.i guess him decided he prefered his difusson brand. Probably was selling better. Anyway that brand now has been sold to the coach group lets see what they do with the MK brand
As long as people are buying what they like and enjoy, that's all that matters.

I agree with you, all my MK items never failed me and has lasted yrs
I love MK bags. They are affordable and high quality. I know the comment section will be filled with people pretending to afford 30k bags and other luxury items, but I'm not a labels girl. I have nothing to prove. MK bags hold their shape very well for years, don't stain easily, come in a variety of colors, etc.
High quality?! Lol
Agree with you I love MK bags
Thank you.
I’ve never owned anything MK! I’ve never seen it as luxury to be honest.
Right? Im okay peoppe have MK bag but i dont want have the same design xD . Coachbi ok but freggin idk their shipping during holidays is sad
personally I see Michael Kors everywhere, way more than LV, and also that is why i buy vintage Louis Vuitton collections which is really rare to see everyday and has better materials
I love MK. I put it on the same level as Kate Spade and Coach. Great for work wear.
Exactly. MK is like upper middle class, solidly American, established in the BIg 80's. (sort of like flying business class but not flying first class.)
I agree
Fr. I've never considered it like a luxury brand, but I think it's just a step down from brands like channel and gucci
Yes, I wear my MK at work and during wet weather.
....ditto I applied for a job at coach.
MK bags became so widespread so quickly that I never got any interest in them. Who wants to have a bag that everyone wears? I want to have something special.
I agree. That's why I hate LV. If I'd invested, I'd see myself coming and going on the street. And that sucks.
He does make higher end bags. They can be hard to find, but you won’t see everyone with the same bag. Great quality too.
The prevalent MK style looks just like a Louis Vuitton bag, which itself has become inferior blue collar luxury. The brown bag with beige logo makes the standard MK bag look like a Louis Vuitton knockoff. The quality was never there either.
They blew up fast and went crazy with the logo. I have one nice red MK satchel. Haven’t seen another one since that caught my attention like that.
Your talking bout hermes or birkin. My cowokers have LV bag
And as far as I'm concerned, Gucci and VL are ugly, poorly made, and so not worth it
Edit - and my Kate Spade wallet/clutch, which I use every day, has stood up to 8 years
exactly I still like MK
Michael kors never was a luxury ,only aspirational and from the moment that the brand became overexposed the appeal disappeared reaaly fast
Periodttttt sis 💯
It’s a brand that not everyone picks up so it feels cute and exclusive in a different way (rather than the usual exclusivity via price point) - also means that things don’t sell out 😉
There's no escape. They chose to dive in.
Another brand that now looks cheap. The knockoffs are much better
I still like my navy blue michael kors bag. I prefer this over lv et gucci logo bag any days.
Coach is making a comeback --- the hardware and leather choice is actually pretty good in comparison to other mid-ranged bags.
@carebear01 Same here. My MK bag metal trim and chains remain shiny.
The older MK bags from 2010 give or take a few years are better quality, anything post 2016 I stay away from.
The moment they started selling bags in stores like Ross and TJ Maxx they lost their luxury appeal. Not to mention why would anyone pay $500 for a bag when they can get it for $99 at the outlet? The company messed up big time. I hate this because I love their brand.
I was shocked to find out this was a luxury brand. It's always in discount stores
I love MK! I'm not a label fanatic so i don't care of his merchandise is considered luxury or not. It is stylish, quality, and at a reasonable price point.
Never really thought MK is a luxury brand. They're the same level as Coach.
but people view coach at a higher level then michael kors
That was my thought too. I like Michael Kors merchandise, but I never regarded it as a luxury brand like Louis Vuitton.
@0nly.bhadbby40 my MK purses are 100% higher quality than my coach purses. I actually stopped buying them because of their low quality.
They’re no way near Coach. The quality and design from Coach are much better. MK just went down over the last 7 years
1000% disagree.
I’ve Never Seen Michael Kors As Luxury Nor Luxurious I Think Coach Is Higher Than His Brand He’s A CopyCat…
And Coach has much better quality, TBH.
@@MarchionessDarby62Absolutely…
@@bambooprincess3495 MK Copies The Top Brand Chanel Hermes That’s What MK Has Done From Day One… Coach Is Better Then MK…
Honestly I don’t think many people here in the U.S. considered it luxury either.
I thought MK was the bottom tier of lux.
I’m starting feel that same way about Chanel too. It’s everywhere just like Coach.
@@seadragon1456 not even on the same level. Lol

@@bnb0510Agreed. Chanel & MK is Literally apples to oranges. MK was on everyone’s arm especially when they became available in TJ Maxx which was horrible.
The MK all over killed it.. it was always quiet luxury.. and out of outlets and discount store it would be top.
I like MK for clothes and shoes. Bags not. I only have one MK bag and it’s in rafia, like a beach bag. I’ve never considered it as luxury.
It’s the second or third video I watched from you and I just subscribed. First time you had less than a thousand subscribers if I remember correctly. I’m glad to see your growth because it’s well deserved. Beautiful scenes, well spoken, good researched and well edited. Great job! 👏🏾
Years ago I had quality problems with one MK product. The customer service was so bad, that I sold the rest of my MK bags. Never purchased from the brand again, and never will 🤷♀
Ive never considered it luxury since the early 2000s.
Never really liked the bags but I still love the clothes. My top pick for dresses.
I find myself oftentimes thinking about the very first brand that I “liked” as a young consumer in the 80s. These days you never see anyone carrying Aigner and they have some great bags. I ❤them.
MK WAS NEVER A LUXURY BRAND IN THE FIRST PLACE GURL
MK has never been a luxury brand to start with!!
Merci. I still I find his bags luxury marked at $700 estimate.. Plus hiring models is a luxury..Including print work.
Was it Ever?
Any of the luxury brands are still luxury brands?
Why did ppl ever buy MK full price? Just wait a week and it will be 1/2 off!
Probably made by Luxotica, like all luxury brand glasses.
The Halston of today. They prioritized ubiquity instead of scarcity, this diluted and reduced the exclusivity of the brand.
I never considered MK luxury. 🤷🏼♀️ I grew up in a very low income ghetto neighborhood and it was nothing but people wearing MK and fake a$$ Gucci. 😂
Only you think Michael Kori’s isn’t a luxury brand anymore. I love Michael kors
I have never felt the quality of his items matched the price. I always thought of him as a poor man's Ralph Lauren
YES! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@chronic2023 to each their own
@@chronic2023 , If Ralph Lauren is an American wannabe, how is that any different from Michael Kors.
Used to work at Marshall’s and we got them in like every day. So never really saw it as an “it” brand since it was so accessible.
I do love MK but it has to be from the boutiques bc the Ross and Marshall’s stuff is not as good of quality. That’s the stuff that didn’t pass quality control but it does make the brand seem less luxurious when Ross sells it.
Where did I say privately owned boutiques? 😂

His items will always be beautiful
Were they ever ? Was Coach ever ? Just asking.
I buy what I like and it doesn't matter what others think about it.I own a MK watch since 10 years and it works great.
Do what makes you happy!
His brand is tacky and always seemed that way to me
MK has always been mid-to-low-tier, and it lacks the credentials of other brands in the same tier (like Longchamp)…
I like the Michael Kors Collection stuff better than Michael Michael Kors. Collection has really nice bags.
I'm a buyer of his perfume michael kors his design purses never go out of style to me I guess because I like fashion.
At this point MK stores are just retailers of cheaper knock offs of luxury brands' designs. Their bags are the worst "offenders".
Do Amazon uk sell real or fake MK bags?
Luxury brands don't get sold on TV Home Shopping channels.
As i love Michael Kors Watches and Bags for men, i have to say i find it like a luxury brand, he did and is doing a lot for the fashion scene. So he deserved some respect. I will buy and buy and buy again Watches and even Polos from him.
To me MK has never been luxury but the typical outlet and discount brand. Some bag styles were nice but the MK logo always put me off.
I like Michael Kors brand its one of my favourites!!
With confidence I second this notion
Hello guys it's because they went wholesale just like Coach and Kate Spade did as well. That's why they're all in bargain bins and you see everyday people representing the brand. That's how it is.. It's quicker money.
I have bags of various styles, designs , prices , some considered Luxury & some not. Michael Kors bags are definitely in my collection. I’ll wear them as often as I do my other bags. They all make me feel luxurious, confident & happy. 👜 😊
Micheal Kors is a luxury brand that is popular but expensive
Being in the luxury fashion industry is difficult since the designers must always come up with the newest styles every month or so. Unfortunately, Michael Kors failed to catch up and simply resorted to using "recycled" and previously-adopted designs. Originality is one of the keys to success.
Michael kors became too saturated and too many fakes and the quality went down
I have 34 Mk bags most of them pebbled leather. I think the quality is great for the price and love the styles
It never was a luxury brand from the beginning.
Tacky! The logo is unbearably vulgar.
Who cares? This is sooo high school lol. All I know is their website sells out of bags quickly and the outlets are always packed. Same with Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs and Coach. Luxury schmuxury🙃, buy what you like.
I think the fact the luxury brand and the affordable brand are practically indistinguishable is the problem for Michael Kors.
If im not mistaken the luxury brand completley dissapeared.i guess him decided he prefered his difusson brand.
Probably was selling better.
Anyway that brand now has been sold to the coach group lets see what they do with the MK brand
I love MK, all my items ranging from shoes, clothes, handbags, has lasted years. Its considered a luxury brand in my opinion
