    I'm a professional senior smart repair tech and we swear by the sri pro lite. I have 3 in my van as well as a gti pro lite and a dv1s. They are such a versatile little gun and you can achieve some amazing results. I believe the "prolite" is the alternative currently but still a bargain.

      Hi buddy, yes, it's a great around gun, i also have the 0.6 micro version which is brilliant for small areas, i particularly like it for cycle frames , superb atomisation at 1bar 13psi 👍

    Like I said before Devilbiss GTi , Tekna Prolite and Sri prolite mini are grandfathers for rest of the guns!!!! Great job Pete! thank you again!

    I found Sri Pro Lite more versatile , you can easy setup just one like , faster , slower and control the finish via applications chemicals mix and temperature.

    The DV1 S does look like a gorgeous gun , really hoping you’ll get the Sagola mini extreme soon very curious to how it measures up against your other mini guns

    Great video as always Pete, I think I would prefer a gun that can do a bit of everything rather than just that one or at a push two specific jobs. I’m really liking the Devillbiss Stuff not that I have had one but they seem good all round guns. Like you say car paint today seems more orange peelie than the older stuff. Toyota I think is very peelie. Cheers Pete. Looking forward to watching your other video. Cheers.

      Thanks Steve, the DV1s definitely gives a flatter finish if that's what people want but most people in a home environment will have to do a bit of after care to remove nibs etc and if you want a truly no peel finish you will flat and polish no matter how good you and the gun's are,I think as an overall package i would still choice the Pro Lite, as i was saying in the video it's still as good as it ever was and it's a fair bit cheaper, cheers buddy 👍

    Hey Pete, that was a very good review of these guns and I have to agree with you on the comparison, the DV1S does give a better flatter finish over the SRI but I didn't notice the DV1S was slower but it's been a long time since I've used the SRI, I don't need to go and check for myself as I could see in your video that the SRI is the quicker gun.
    I've always said that if I hadn't won my DV1S I wouldn't pay the asking price as it's just to much compared to the SRI, I don't use a mini gun enough to warrant the cost. I've seen that tank before somewhere Pete 🤭 and can see now that you have changed your spraying style quite a bit so do you find it better than your old style? doesn't matter how you do it it's the results that matter 👍
    I now have all the parts to make the lazy susan for my tank so I'll get it made before I spray the tank again, thanks bud 🙏👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 роки тому

      Hi John yes it is quite evident I've change my style that's, why I Uploaded the older video, there's about one year and 4 months between the 2 videos and is quite evident. I think if you want the the ultimate best finish the dv1S is the better gun though I actually prefer the SRI prolight.
      You can see it has a wetter pattern and I prefer the weter pattern I actually prefer to use a 1.4 tip which I've got, I have a 1.4 tip because it takes the same needle has the 1.2 and it's much better for clear coat but obviously to keep the video comparative then I needed to use 1.2 in both of them.
      I think you're really like the lazy Susan when you get it cause it just makes it so much easier and so much quicker just to swing it round if you can't get to the other side easily like us, Cheers buddy 👍

      Thanks Pete, I don't really mind if a gun is on the slow side as I take my time anyway I watch some painters on YT going like a cat with it's butt on fire 😱 I couldn't paint like that as half of it would be on the floor, each to their own I suppose.
      The lazy susan it just about done, gave it a test and it will take my weight easy as I can stand on it and it will turn round no problems, I'll be flow coating the tank in a few days so I'll get some video of the clear application in the booth, cheers kind Sir 👏😁👍

    Hi Pete, great review 👍
    What mini gun would you recommend for spraying cellulose lacquer, I never use anything else .
    I'm currently using the SRI Pro lite and I really like it. I previous used the ANI R160 and I feel the devilbiss is a massive upgrade
    I always wet sand and polish but the flatter I can get it means less work later on .
    Many thanks Karl

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Рік тому

      Hi Karl, Cellulose clear is generally thinner than 2-component clears so a slight smaller tip would be recommended which all the mini guns normally come with.
      The ANI is a great little gun for the money, it likes its pressure compared to the Sri, 3.5 bar compared to 2 bar, if you looking for a step up the Devilbiss DV1S is exceptional but so in the price tag, the Meiji Finer Spot 1.2 in a good gun, not as good as the DV1s but good, the LPH80 is also excellent but slower than the Sri Pro Lite 1.2

    Hi from Germany, i like your Videos espacally the Gun Comparisons. Do you have a special Filter for this Garage to prevent Dust in Paint ? The Enviroment and the Equipment around would be Interesting for me, because i build a Paint Pavillon with exhaust and intake Fan. In Germany we have a lot of legal prohibitions. So some People says i need a Explosion Proof Fan with Filters.... It´s only a Hobby for me and i would like to Paint some smaller Car Parts.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Mate, my greetings to Germany, I don't have a intake filter in my workshop, the roof has lot's of air coming in under the sheeting so it's impossible to do, I have made a wooden box with a 600mm extraction fan which filters through 100mm filter media that i buy on a 20mt roll.
      The fan is not ATEX rated but is an induction motor so i just turn it on before i start and off after spray has cleared, I've never had any problems with this, in theory you should had nothing that can make a spark in the spray area which includes electrical sockets, the compressor, absolutely everything so i have no chance of doing that, as i say i have no problems with anything, i will say my workshop is 8mts x 4mts so quite large which is why you don't see lots of overspray hanging around in my videos.

    Thanks Pete! The Pro Lite S seem to have bigger nozzle choice. Would I be able to use same variety of products ( thicker primers and lacquer) with the DV1S as with the PRO lite S?

    Can't you dial in the fan of the DV1S so it's smaller and wetter making it as fast as the Sri Pro? The fan is just too big for the fluid output (and too big for a gas tank).

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can wind the fan in but it's still not that wet, it is all atomisation with the DV1s, it's a very fine spray but it doesn't draw that much fluid through so it's always going to be slow, it gives a great finish and is a good smart repair gun as it makes blending much easier

      @@peteshobbies5383 Pete, this short video of the DV1S impressed me because you see literally no clouding (wet & dry spots) in a single layer of basecoat. Yes he paints slow as h but nevertheless. Candies would look perfect i guess. ua-cam.com/video/HckcV-tsBAU/v-deo.html

    • @Harolddespui

      This is what i meant a couple of days ago with a gun able to produce a perfect even "mist" without any blotchiness in a single coat. This is what i want when spraying candies.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 роки тому

      I can't think of a gun i have that doesn't give a even mist, i wouldn't keep it if it didn't, even and fine aren't the same thing you need a even pattern with candy, it doesn't need to be super fine, bear in mind we are only talking very small differences

      @@peteshobbies5383 Just read something in the HOK manuals i missed all these years: "for the first 2 coats of candy, apply 50/75% triggerpull, this avoids streaking".
