augh killswitches are a pet peeve. reverse killswitches are much more intuitive to play and just as easy to wire! put the ends on the output and input of your master vol, turn down the knob when you want to use the switch and it bypasses the volume pot on press.
Great video. Hope you and your family are safe and healthy with RVing in these pandemic times. These are some of the best build videos on the internet. Enjoy the sunshine.
Hi Dan, another great mod, thanks. The up-coming "The Greatest Guitar Building Competition" sounds really exciting and I'm pleased your involved, you deserve a place in the line-up. I was going to say good luck but who needs luck when you have the skill.
Love the way you take your own ideas and use your great imagination to come up with some really awesome looking guitars. I will be very interested in seeing what comes out of the Great Guitar Build-Off of 2020. Stay safe and healthy out there.
After seeing the badass re-design you did for this axe. I can't wait to see what you do for the build off. One thought... The copper tape would have looked awesome as a background to the grate. Especially when the sun hits it just right.
This guitar looks sick. I've been wanting to modify my first bass (B.C. Rich Warlock Revenge) for a while but wasn't sure what to do about the binding. Never thought about rounding off the edges like you did here. Keep it up Dan.
I think you have good ideas to build and you are not a bad designer but I am not about to modify something that was already very good, you could start making or buying a new body. The natural finish without varnish makes the rustic body look ...
Let me say that every person can do whatever the heck they want with their property, but I've had a LOT of Red Bull today, so... First, the reason Schecter would cover that wood in an opaque finish is because EVERY piece of Alder (and most other woods) is beautiful. By that logic every single guitar needs to have a transparent finish. Then what? No staining? It does change the appearance of the natural wood. "Every guitar must have a tung oil finish and nothing else!" Second, you kept going on about how gorgeous the wood grain was yet covered most of the front with an EVEN LARGER pickguard! All that being said, I actually like the steampunk look of the final product so cheers to you.
could u do a video on how to put a floyd rose on a string through guitar cuz i got a ltd v 200 i wanna put a floyd on but cant find any videos on it and im trying to save as much money as possible
5:57 What I have found works really, really well here is a hammer drill clamped into my moxon vise with a drum sanding bit attached to it, so that the bit stands straight up. That is how I do tight curves on my guitar builds, and it is also how I make my wooden bridge pin pullers (which are for sale on Reverb).
Hey Dan, on the intricate work you might try a scroll saw. It gives you an excuse to make those gingerbread style doll houses for your daughter. For some reason, that grill work you put in reminds me of the basket-weave leather carving done on a nice revolver holster.
I don't often see a Tele shaped body with rounded edges. Looks really good. Also, good choice on the grating--doesn't remind me of chicken wire. So there was no difference in tone after the chambering? How many ounces did you remove?
If you would have made your masterpiece from a cheap standard guitar or diy kit I would give a big thumbs up. But....I was cringing watching that beautiful Schecter being skinned alive!
Great job Dan, Not sure if you're aware but Matt at Texas Toast has said that any of you guys in the GGBO that don't have a full workshop are welcome to do your build at his workshop in Denver. Could be worth checking out. Take care mate.✌
I'm one of those folks who hates seeing a nice guitar modded, however, I really like the look of the final product. I'm conflicted, but it's not like it was a vintage Stratocaster that you did this too. I wouldn't mind that guitar in my guitarsenal one bit!
I mean, it was good before, now it's obliterated... Can you just make a simple Explorer kit? I'm thinking about getting one for my bday in a couple of weeks
If that were me, and I had done that to such a pretty guitar, I'd be sick at my stomach and devastated. However, if that's what makes you happy and it's exactly what you wanted then that's great, the mods were great. I keep an extra older pbass that I've refinned a couple times, currently shell pink.
I really preferred the original finish and setup... it looked a little more "professional" to me. However, I appreciate you making the guitar your own! Good stuff!
I’d add clear plexi behind the gratings, that way you can still see the wiring, but you won’t get dust, dirt, moisture, and random picks inside. 😉😎👍🏻 Maybe even add LED lights hooked up to the kill switch so that every time the switch is activated the LED lights in the chambers behind the gratings come on. 🎸🎼🎶🎵
Great stuff Dan it is a channel like yours that made me get going with mine just so honest. I point people to yours when they talk about guitar mods. Keep up the great work
before was my dream guitar :(
Love the schect!
I like the "before" too... I would build this kind of finish for myself...
Dan: this guitar is perfect. Also Dan: lemme irreversibly modify it!
Schecter called me. They want their red pt back
who knew 4 years later i ended up with this guitar ,its amazing and has become my main guitar ,i have a les paul and tele gathering dust
Although I like the og schecter more but if ur happy with it, Rock on brother!🤟
I agree. I've just always loved the Tele Deluxe look 🙂
Dude.... I didn’t think this was my dream guitar until I seen this..... I need this
Just from the thumbnail: you freakin nailed it.
Edit: Looking forward to the competition, I'm excited to see you guys all craft!
Dan that is amazing! That inlay is so cool!
possibly the most beautiful guitar ever. A perfect hint of many ingredients .
Dan always blowing minds! I just wished he would try to make an "acoustasonic" style guitar =D
This has to be one of the best looking builds you’ve don’t Dan, really love the concept and execution.
Guitar remodel is a such a cool concept! Great video!
I give you props for doing all this work out of an RV. Good on ya !!
Health and Safety: Always heat strip paint in a well ventilated area.
Dan: * heads to the woods *
Made me laugh
I love it! The kill switch is a great mod and the grille accents are amazing looking! Great custom job as usual.
augh killswitches are a pet peeve. reverse killswitches are much more intuitive to play and just as easy to wire! put the ends on the output and input of your master vol, turn down the knob when you want to use the switch and it bypasses the volume pot on press.
hurts me to see that nice finish go..
Great video.
Hope you and your family are safe and healthy with RVing in these pandemic times.
These are some of the best build videos on the internet. Enjoy the sunshine.
Personally i would probably use a different colour on the body... but damn. This is so good looking. Well done mate
That's fricking bad ass. I love the after look. Great job.
Hi Dan, another great mod, thanks. The up-coming "The Greatest Guitar Building Competition" sounds really exciting and I'm pleased your involved, you deserve a place in the line-up. I was going to say good luck but who needs luck when you have the skill.
Matt - you do so much with a tiny shop
It’s all skill and imagination
Proud to watch your videos!!
Cool stuff! Would love to know the difference in weight before and after and also if you get any neck dive when standing with it now?
It’s a little lighter now, but still pretty heavy because of the bigsby. Definitely no neck dive
@@GunsandGuitars Thanks!
Dan, you are one talented guy. Enjoy your new guitar.
Love the way you take your own ideas and use your great imagination to come up with some really awesome looking guitars. I will be very interested in seeing what comes out of the Great Guitar Build-Off of 2020. Stay safe and healthy out there.
Sick guitar! Your finishes are beautiful
This is the video I've been looking forward to. Refinishing guitars is so oddly satisfying!
That's a very nice finished product. Sounds and looks great and unique.
You’re so good at what you do it’s kind of mind boggling sometimes.
The pickguard and the mesh looks really good
awesome guitar Dan. Good luck for the build off by the way
Excited to see what you do with your crimson kit. Been following them for a couple years and always amazed by their knowledge
Finally this video is out! So excited!!
The recessed pick guard with metal knockout is so boss. I love the location of the kill switch. Can’t wait to see it finished!
Sorry Dan, I love the kill switch and the new pickguard but I prefer the red and binding.
Daaaang! This looks amazing friend! Love the added grates! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Men thats sick i love that Tom morello kill switch style button, all the sounds you can make with that is amazing
Great video, nice rework of the guitar. Schecter makes some nice stuff!
That looks awesome! Great job, I get a steampunk vibe from it!
Dan, when are you going to get more hats with the guns and guitars logo?
After seeing the badass re-design you did for this axe. I can't wait to see what you do for the build off. One thought... The copper tape would have looked awesome as a background to the grate. Especially when the sun hits it just right.
Good job bro !
You should try and make a microtonal guitar !
~❤
Can't wait to see what you can do with the Crimson Guitars kit.
I love this build man! Super cool!
This guitar looks sick. I've been wanting to modify my first bass (B.C. Rich Warlock Revenge) for a while but wasn't sure what to do about the binding. Never thought about rounding off the edges like you did here. Keep it up Dan.
What is the weight of the final chambered version please ?
Beautiful guitar before and after. I love what you did with it. Awesome job man. 👏🏽
Can't wait for Dan to build his own guitar body
I know this isn't a kit video but could you do the j-bass kit from the fretwire?
Hi Dan, awesome! How much weight relieve did you actually get out of it? Keep up the good work! Love your channel!
I think you have good ideas to build and you are not a bad designer but I am not about to modify something that was already very good, you could start making or buying a new body. The natural finish without varnish makes the rustic body look ...
How did the binding survive at all?
I love how you take modding to the next level. That guitar looks awesome!👍😎🎸🎶
Nice! Love it. I just like the toggle in a different place.
That guitar looks much better. Excited about your great guitar build off guitar.
Super amazing job man. You really inspire me to modify my guitar.
Cant wait to see your build off guitar started 🇺🇸👍🏻
Definitely unique . From here looks like excellent work .
Did chambering it change the sound of it at all?
Great guitar! Wonderful video, cute helpers, keep it going!
Why not use paint stripper?
Love your "spindle" sander, man! :)

Do you know if the neck pocket is fender compatible?
Is it true that chambering the guitar didn't affect the tone at all?

Hey Dan! Is there such a thing as a DIY gun kit?
Yes. You can buy kit ARs, AK variants, 1911s, and Glock designs. Anywhere from "you're going to need a mill" to "snap it all together" in difficulty.
@@user54389 - Thanks, Matt. Would you post some links for me,please?
That is beautiful wood grain indeed!
I´ve never seen a killswitch on a Tele!, great job
Jonny Greenwood? Joe Trohman? Matt Bellamy?
Franky Gonzaldi Matt Bellamy doesn’t count 😂 John 5 and Joe Trohman
Just bought one of these . I wonder if the grills being chrome red would have complimented the headstock ? Looks awesome though 😊
Dude, I'm so jealous. Wish I had the workshop (and imagination) to come up with that. Looks awesome and sounds great!
I've always hated the tele deluxe style pickguard. You made it look goooood!
I might have left the back and sides red, but redo that top. Still gorgeous!

Really enjoy your channel 👍🏻 thanks for all your great work & the ideas you give me.
I mean, it was good before, now it's obliterated...
Can you just make a simple Explorer kit? I'm thinking about getting one for my bday in a couple of weeks
Seeing an Explorer or a flying V would be the Dream
Now that's nice n' tarted-up. Excellent work!
What did it do for the weight of the guitar?

Ngl Dan I like both but yours was super creative looking so I like it more

Great new look of the schehter

Looks good, hope it’s finished soon. Have a grate weekend
Ooo I need to get in on that crimson guitar kit building
Great stuff Dan it is a channel like yours that made me get going with mine just so honest. I point people to yours when they talk about guitar mods. Keep up the great work
That's pretty slick dude
Put some LED lights and a smoke machine inside! But are you going to oil the wood or put a top coat on it? I love the design.
I’d love the mods you did on the candy red.
What’s that song he plays after the intro? Digging that chill vibe 🧐
I bet if I cut down a tree, Dan would somehow make a beautiful guitar out of it.
Dan! I’m curious if you are competing in the Crimson Guitar kit build contest with Brad Angrove?
imo
Outstanding vid on a piece of work that deserves no less.
Great stuff!
imo
Nicely done man!!! Really awesome!!
Love that you went through with it. Really did a great job!
