- Siren: FS STH-10B, 625 Hz
Town: Glenwood, IL
Location: Fire Station #1
Test Time: 1st Tuesday 10 AM every month
Cycle: 3 minutes of alert
Other notes: Finally after 2 months of failures in IL, I'm back in action, though I was holding my breath as this didn't go off until 10:06, just as I was calling Glenwood to see what was up.
This STH-10 is at the fire station towards the east side of town, and one of the few single phase ones I know of in this area. Pretty nice to see these being used for tornado sirens in IL. I don't think this is used for the FD, although it most likely used to be.
Glenwood's siren coverage is very dense, as they have this STH-10, a 3T22, and 5 2001s throughout town, with one SRNB being just a few blocks north of here, which can be heard throughout the test. After Glenwood's sirens wind down, you can two 12 port omnidirectionals and a 2001 winding down. This is no doubt Thornton's system which I was unsure about whether their Model 7 and STH-10 tested with the 2001 as that's also a very dense system, but I can confirm they do in fact test, so I may do those at some point. - Розваги
